I listened to the demo video and did not like what that did for the EP at all. I might download it though because it might sound interesting on some other instruments.

Same here, although I don't think I've ever bought a compressor outside a bundle. Sonar comes with Blue Tubes bundle, cool! Joined IKM group buy to get Amplitube products, may as well go with TRacks components! Oh look, Komplete has kompressors too! Cheaper to buy the bundle from Arturia than the one FX I want, guess I have even more compressors than I will actually use. I'm pretty much the same way with EQs for the same reasons. -
Yeah but with Cakewalk there's the question of what is stock? Do the plugins that were stock in SONAR count or just what is available in CBB? OK so I take SONAR but can I use the plugins that were there from earlier versions but not in the final one?

Multi-effect: Guitar Rig. This is feels like a cheat because it has the three SoftTube compressors, Mod Pack, Crush Pack, bunch of reverbs etc. Delay: MTurboDelay. Like Starship Krupa said, this covers more than you would expect a delay to. WTF MFX: Molekular Amp Sim: Amplitube 5 Convolution Reverb: ReMatrix One Stop Mastering: Lurssen Trance Gate: MRhythmizer LoFi: RC-20 I'm not committing to compressors because I have a boatload and usually don't get far enough into a track to be concerned with mixing. I'm not committing to algorithmic reverbs because I just got the Arturia FX pack and Intensity could be a contender, but MTurboReverb is pretty good too.

8 hours so far for me. I'm not surprised it will take up to 24 hours to show up. It took me a few tries before it would download the K7 player.

Reaper is supposed to offer same functionality as well. Unfortunately my preferred hosts are Cakewalk and Bitwig and neither support that.
-
Either way you still get the problem of having to update all your track templates every time they come out with a new version of Kontakt.
-
Ableton always put me off as well. Bitwig seems a bit closer to Project 5 to me, so I use it on occasion. However, there are a few things in Bitwig that are just completely unintuitive and not in the manual. Tap Tempo is a great example.

I'm guessing Headley Grange is next. Any other guesses?

50% off Arturia V Collection 9, FX Collection 3, and Pigments:

I gave in yesterday. You weren't kidding about that reverb. There was one preset where I ran an 808 kick sample through it and it sounded like Godzilla stomping. -
I think I got these for free for joining the SoundWide mailing list.

I have only had Pigments for about a week or so. It can cover a lot of sounds and has a lot of nice presets. I'm not sure I really needed this but it still is pretty useful. -

I can get EFX 3 for $49, and from what I've seen of Fragments that might be worth it alone. Glad to know that the reverb is pretty good too. My needs for most effects are fairly well covered. On the other hand, if their 76 compressor is better than the ones I have, I might as well use that and let the others collect dust. -

What is the general consensus on the EFX Collection? Like the saying goes, which will I actually use? -
XSonic makes audio interfaces and midi controllers. In particular, the AIRSTEP line has amp controllers for Katana, Bias Spark, and Yamaha THR-II. For users of the Katana 50, which isn't compatible with the Boss GA-FC foot pedal, this adds a lot of functionality, such as individual control of each of the effects, that simply would not be available with that amp. https://xsonicaudio.com/collections/all Also available through Amazon at a higher price which is a wash when shipping is taken into account.

It's Groove Monkee, kind of like that prefab band with the TV show that had Jimi Hendrix open for them.

They also have personalized deals to complete your collection of expansion packs. In some cases you can get expansion packs for as low as $7 per pack if you buy into these completion bundles.
-
Awesome. I don't want any pitiful deals, just the good ones!
-
I get more better ideas for production from this series than I have from a stack of CM magazines. This video makes me want Fragments.
-
I don't think I would want to try that, but good luck.

Epic Free Game (until 10/27): Fallout 3 - Game of the Year

For those who haven't started this one yet, I'd recommend turning off the music. They have a small selection of songs from the 40s that will just eat away at your brain. -
MAX does not contain XGear or Mesa/Boogie 2.

What's on your BLACK FRIDAY Wish List? (Not a Deal)
Magic Russ replied to PavlovsCat's topic in Deals
I'd like to see Pigments on sale. I'd also like to see a decent sale on EZ-Bass. It would be nice if Overloud's annual semi-no-brainer plugin deal was for their vocal processor.
