  1. Hopefully just a week or two.
  2. You may have heard that Super 8 is being discontinued as a VST and is going back to being a Reaktor ensemble. The Reaktor version is now available from within Native Access for all owners of Super 8 or Komplete. https://community.native-instruments.com/discussion/8294/m1-update-status-of-fm8-super8/p4

    NI Feel It!

I highly doubt that the algorithms were written to determine if any loop comes from a royalty free library. Even if they were, google would have to invest in a lot of libraries to figure out that. I would also guess that the algorithms are focused more on melodic content because otherwise they would have a ridiculous amount of claims generated.
  4. It seems that many of the impulses in 80s spaces are taken from the same reverbs used in the Rematrix Studio Sessions series of reverb libraries (which I happen to have).
  5. Which does better Phil Collins drums, 80s Spaces or the IK Farm Room?
  6. One of the things I like is the piano roll image in the pattern browser. It's great because when you can see what the pattern looks like, you waste less time cycling through the patterns that don't look like what you want.
  7. If so then it is too late. It is 12:40 in Moscow as I post this.
  8. Moments? Is it coming out at midnight in Sweden?
  9. Waves has their own proprietary format but not all IR providers do. I think Melda uses standard wav files. EchoThief does use some unique standard wav files but you need to use something like 7zip to extract them from the executable. All the impulses in Reflektor are also standard wav.
  10. It's pretty much what you would expect it to be and has been pretty stable for me. If I am remembering correctly, the impulses are proprietary, but they are not alone in that. Also it would be nice if they had better preset organization. It would be nice to be able to tag these with attributes such as the general type (hall, plate, special, etc) as well as which instruments to use. Finally, once you purchase the full version you get a 20% discount going forward on all Rematrix preset packs. This stacks with sales, so you will probably end up tempted to buy presets during Black Friday. They also tend to throw in a few nice free packs every once in a while.
  11. I make whatever comes together when I sit at the computer. That does include lofi but not so much hip hop. For my lofi though I mostly put XLN's RC-20 on it. I'm really only asking about these tape sims because if I go with the 5 plugin bundle to get the 3 I want, that leaves two of the TEAC bundle for me to decide on.
  12. Other than the PortaStudio model sounds a little harsh and tinny on the cymbals and hats, I am not hearing a huge difference between the dry and processed sounds. Am I missing something or are these really that subtle?
  13. Don't forget that this isn't a NI sale, but a sale on their stuff through Best Service.
  14. It seems like all the regulars here are in that boat. Too bad there is no 7-pack.
  15. The point is that EZKeys is a unique tool that will help you generate MIDI keyboard parts that you might not have thought of or might not have been able to play. There are not a lot of other products out there that will do that. For people like myself who are working on their keyboard chops, it saves a lot of time and makes it possible to create things we might not have been able to play. I can't speak for how useful these compositional features are to a competent keyboard player, but if you have a guy named @abacab touting them...
  16. If you were to get five out of these products, which ones would you get? The Farm Stone Room Studio Reverb Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip FAME Studio Reverb TASCAM 388 TASCAM Porta ONE TEAC A-3340S TEAC A-6100 MKII
  17. With all of their other patch sets, when you download them in Analog Lab, they offer a handful of presets that you can load to demo. With these three, when you download the bank none of the presets are playable.
  18. Abandonware refers to software that is neither sold nor supported by its creator, so that term does apply. Of course just because something fits that definition does not mean intellectual property law doesn't apply.
  19. I'm not overly well versed in Latin Pop, but when I was listening to the demos, I was hearing a lot more lounge piano than Latin rhythms. Sure there were some classically Latin parts there, but a lot that didn't seem quite so much so. The House demos had a few parts that sounded a bit more R&B than I expected too.
  20. Gear Acquisition Syndrome I think I first saw the term used in an ad for one of the online retailers, but it seems Walter Becker of Steely Dan coined the term.
  21. If by song ideas, you mean 4-8 reasonably groovy bars that don't go anywhere, then yes I have nearly a thousand of them. Many have been even inspired by checking out presets or putting together libraries.
  22. It's more than XLN gives you for their updates.
  23. I'm seeing it being out of stock now.

    EZkeys2 !!!!!

Was there ever an answer on whether the serials for MIDI packs are use it or lose it like the serials for the sound packs?
  25. The way it handles track templates and effects presets. In Cakewalk, when you create a track template the only way of organizing them is by the paths you store the files in. In Bitwig, you save your track templates with tags so you can search for them by tags. In Cakewalk, when you save an effects preset it gets saved under a container. This can be nice if you want to only expose a few parameters in the underlying effects. If that isn't what you want, you have to take an extra step to get rid of the container. And you can actually insert an FX chain without the container, but you need to navigate through the file system to open the FX chain and then use Shift-Open to open it. In Bitwig the container is transparent and you can access the effects simply by clicking on them.
