I did it that way Byron, but I swapped the three bottom strings from 54/42/32 to 46/36/24. Such a difference in string tension meant relaxing the FR springs quite a bit.

We are restringed ? Now to spend another plentitude of hours to re-tension the springs and get the bloody thang back in tune ?

I'm about to restring my Floyd Rose ESP with a different gauge of strings ? No doubt copious sweating, swearing and farting will now ensue.
