Did you try running Cakewalk as an administrator ?

Its funny how some will assert something as being fact with no facts to back it up. I don't know who started adding "in my opinion" IMO or "in my honest opinion" IMHO, what else could it be in. Someones else's opinion? That is imo. LOL

I stopped bouncing when Cakewalk implemented freeze. I like it better.

I have SpectraLayers Pro 6 and it did not look for or ask for a previous version.

If you have used the zoom ability in the Ruler it will no longer scroll the now time so you and edit at that point . To engage the Now Time scrolling simply click on the Ruler.

The Time ruler The Time ruler appears in the Track view, Tempo view, Staff view and Piano Roll view. It has several functions, including:  Making a time selection. The Time ruler follows the Snap to Grid settings, if enabled.  Changing the Now time  Adding loop, punch, and pitch markers. You can right-click in the Time ruler to add markers.  Zooming and scrolling. Point the mouse pointer at the top half of the Clips pane or Piano Roll view Time Ruler until the mouse pointer looks like , then drag up/down to zoom horizontally, or left/right to scroll. For details, see “Zooming and scrolling in the Time Ruler” on page 162. In the Track view and Piano Roll view, the Time ruler has the following time display options or formats:  Measures, Beats and Ticks (M:B:T)  Hours, Minutes, Seconds and Frames (H:M:S:F—also called SMPTE)  Samples  Milliseconds

I'm not sure what you are talking about. The Now Time is the line that scrolls across the screen showing where the song is at any giving time when you hit play. There is also Aim Assist that helps one line up clips . It is toggled by hitting X.

Did you hit scroll lock by mistake?

I have two laptops . One is Macbook Pro the other is a think pad with a multi touch screen. On the Mac I use its mouse pad on the Thinkpad I use a wireless mouse even though it has a mouse pad and the IBM type red gizmo in the middle of the keyboard. It is a Tecknet mouse . Works great!

As much as I feel for the OP in this thread I must lock it for being too political.

I didn't want to mention the Mackie Control because I do so often but Chuck is right it works with Cakewalk and just about any other DAW and video editors like Vagus Pro. I have had mine since it first came out. It has never failed me.

I have found a control surface with a jog wheel very useful for moving the now time where I want it.

Are all your plugins activated, in other words no plugins in demo mode?

Are these like those internal speaker beeps on boot up?

It is always a good idea to post as much information as one can. Too little and all it does is cause us to ask questions . There really never is too much information unless it has nothing to do with the problem. So you did nothing wrong in posting the dump file. No need to think anything other then we are here to help as much as we can. There is no guarantee that we will solve a problem. I can say that the members of this forum will try hard to find an answer.

Some of it my fault. I will try to do a better job of moving OT threads to an appropriate forum.

The clip could be locked. Unlocking it should let you move it where ever you want.
