Kontakt not playing imported/opened midi files
John replied to PcMacsterRace's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Have you set the channel? Kontakt relies on setting up the channel. Each instrument in Kontakt requires the MIDI channel match for the MIDI to trigger the sound. -
I'm not sure the reason for this. Nor do I think it would be a good idea. An explanation is in order. However, you can perhaps by copying and pasting tracks to a single track.

Really fundamental question about exporting
John replied to Starship Krupa's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
There is nothing wrong with normalizing. However, in Cakewalk there is a trim control for each track, with it one has the option to adjust the input signal as one wishes. Keep in mind that each track adds volume to the mix. Lowering the faders so that the cumulative volume is not clipping may be the best way to get a good sound without distortion. I have routinely placed my faders at infinity and raise one at a time readjusting as more tracks come on line for a preliminary mix. Also if you did not record the project it may be useful to raise and then lower each track to see what it has in it. On occasion I have found tracks that were so low in a mix that they were unheard. When brought up they added greatly to the overall sound. I guess I'm saying use the luxury of a real multi-track DAW to its fullest. It beats a four track hands down. -
I would use a bit mapped editor. MS Paint will do the job. You can take a picture of an item you want to use as an icon. You can also take a screen shot with Windows' built in Snip & Sketch or the Snipping Tool.

I have never done that with any plugin. I stop the transport when ever I need to change a plugin preset. I do this out of habit.

A clip end time saves time! Sorry it got the best of me.

I have Ozone 9 Advanced and it has not caused any problems on my system with any DAW I have.

Chuck 1849 was a good year if I recall it correctly!?

Wait till you have 32 GB or 64 GB. And a 12 to 24 core CPU running at 5 GHz. ?
-
I agree with Colin. However I tend to have EQ at the top and compression as the last item. If you notice in Ozone from early on it always had the ability to put a module in any order.

This is the greatest thread ever!

Very good to see you and hear from you.

If you have more than one instance of Kontakt it will be labeled Kontakt 1 and Kontakt 2. and so on. Be sure you are sending your MIDI to the right one.
-
I just bought it. I go back a long way with Ozone. I am trying it out now and I think it is better than 8 Advanced.

This is a great update. Thank you Bandlab and Noel.

Showstopper VSTi Issue in Cakewalk by Bandlab
John replied to noynekker's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Hi Noy, It could be but I'm thinking it is more likely system related. Something on your setup may interfere with Cakewalk. Right now you Noel offering to help and if I were you I would let him find the problem. No one knows Cakewalk better or can find a cause for a problem quicker. -
Re downloading .cwp files from the cloud...
John replied to Adam Salomon's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Don't do anything else to your C:\ drive. You may need to take it to a restorer services. They can, under the right conditions, find all your deleted files . -
Chuck has one heck of a good memory and is downright helpful. One of the best mods on the this forum!

Showstopper VSTi Issue in Cakewalk by Bandlab
John replied to noynekker's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Interesting! I can't say I have heard of that bug before. It really shouldn't matter which synth is unfrozen, it should still restore the correct one. Has this happened before in others projects? -

It will work well enough but 10 is better. -
Although Pentagon was a great synth in its day now there a million and 1 VSTi analog sounding synths that are far and away better.
