Is this a free or paid update for those that have an earlier version of Project?

I have always found the way opinions form on equipment to be interesting. I think you’re correct that there is one type of original bias toward the old and what we are comfortable with. OTOH, there can also be a countervailing psychological bias in favor of that which we have just shelled out a bunch of bucks on. And sometimes things just sound different-not necessarily better or worse. As an example: I used Miroslav Philharmonic for a fair period of time, realizing that it was not state of the art, but sounded pretty good. When version 2 came out, it was clear (at least to me) that it offered wider frequency response and clearer sound.OTOH, it also, to my ears, had a very slight sense of scratchiness that I did not hear in the original. In comparing the 2, I first liked 1 better, then decided I liked 2 better, but finally got to the point that I just didn’t use 2 anymore. Still on the fence about AT5. -
Didn’t get it. Opened a support ticket. Re-subscribed. Still no love?

Toontrack EZKeys Cinematic Grand Mega Deal - 24 hrs ONLY

This thing actually has some pretty interesting sounds. Had not been on my radar. -
Gotta love Neil. One of my favorite musical spots of this crazy year was him singing Old Man and Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere to a bunch of live chickens, as part of virtual Farm Aid.

Just to revisit this a bit, I may not have grasped the full impact of what Lars is saying here. If I do the bundle, am I eligible for Amplitube 5 bug fixes that IK may do e.g. in a 5.05 or 5.1? If not, that truly is a deal breaker. -
Leaning toward a pass on this. I too have had virtually 0% download rates on the Roompak portion of this. I’m pretty pleased with Reverberate 3 and doubt this thing is worth the installation frustrations.

Download makes paint drying look fast. May try later........or not.

Wake me up when there’s a new Cakewalk version ?

I think we may all be saying the same thing. I’m not sure it makes much difference to me if IK won’t allow me to “upgrade” AT5. I have AT4 Max, and all the AT modules I need (except Satriani) and most of their big “deals” and releases tend to allow you to do the deal as a “crossgrade” and I still have paid versions of ST4, Syntronik, B3, Modo, you name it. I tend to keep and not sell, as well. Good to hear you like the DI Box!! -

Yeah that’s true, but does IK really do “upgrades” anymore ? If it’s a future “crossgrade” promotion, I’ve got enough other IK stuff that I suspect I’d be eligible. -

I was looking at the new deal on the Z Tone DI, ($225) which appears to come with the full Amplitube 5. I had been contemplating (if the VIR technology pans out) updating my Amplitube 4 Max to Amplitube 5 GE for about $70, using Jam points. The Z Tone deal, using Jam Points, would run around $158, but I would be getting the DI box and a few extra new Amplitube modules thrown in too. Hmmm..... -
Didn’t someone like Guitar Center accidentally put both of these on sale last year for around $20?
-
Now if only they would make licensing for their paid products a little more customer friendly...
-
I think you guys are looking at this the wrong way. I’d like to thank Celemony for making the decision not to upgrade from Studio 4 to 5 so easy.?
-
Keep in mind you can only have one installation of ANY version of Melodyne at a time on a machine. It has something to do with how they code their plugins. So if you activate Essential 5, you won’t see Studio 4 remaining on the machine. Very annoying.
-
You might be right here. I seem to recall that in past years they would do a half price upgrade sale sometime near years end. If they don’t, I’m not going to upgrade from 4-5. Ditto for Melodyne Studio 4-5. I’m increasingly tired of the business model that gives great deals to newbies, and just assumes that long time users will cough up big bucks every year or 2, for updates that often are incremental in nature.

Any take on this vs. Triad, which is billed as Byome on steroids?

Great vid!?

The Cinema-Horror set, currently on sale for $10, also has some useful stuff for metal .
