Yeah. Great drum sounds. Very challenging implementation. I’m going to set aside a weekend in the near future to see if I can get it working properly. If not, it’s “bye-bye”. Time is not just money…it’s peace of mind.

Quick questions about the multis. What default location do they install to on Windows? I’ve only installed the 11 new synths (had Deluxe before that) as of this point and did so in a new Syn 2 location on my hard drive. Was leaning toward doing the remaining ones in same fashion. Should I just go with default multi installation or change it to something else? Thx:)

Anybody got any spare Excedrin?

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that option too. OTOH, may be creating still more work for me if I’m gonna eventually use Product Manager to install—since Product Manager leaves behind all the zip files.

Ok. That makes sense. I have been installing my 2s in the same fashion as Abacab and I’m using ST4, not 3. I assume then if we hit 33, and I continue to install my 2’s in the same fashion, I can then delete all of my 1s (as well as the 1 dl).

Are you sure about the need to keep around the old 1s, if we have the same synth in 2 configuration? I thought Peter said that installation of the 2 version did not actually modify the 1 version installation, but instead provided an entirely new download , which included 1and 2 instrument presets. Peter?

If that is correct, and if it works (the latter a big assumption), I stand corrected. But why do I need to do anything every 90 days? It’s ridiculous. I don’t use the current version of Cakewalk, but neither Studio One, nor any other plug-in I use has this periodic re-licensing requirement. Love BFD3, but will stay on the pre-migration version and not give InMusic one more penny as long as they stick with this licensing method.

Assuming it gets to 33, and we get the new multis…..is there any way of acquiring the older multis….short of getting MAX?

Looks like it still requires you to be constantly on-line and phoning home to avoid licensing issues. Unacceptable and disappointing.

The industry standard when it comes to products and updates downloading and installing properly. Others should take note.

Must admit all this has me a bit confused. I thought that Peter said early on (page 2 or 3 of this thread) that the Syntronik 2 versions of synths in this GB did not “per se” modify the existing already downloaded and installed Syntronik 1 version of the same synths. Rather, that it downloaded and installed new sound content that included the presets from 1 and 2- the only limitation in it being that the presets from 1, could not be edited through the new Edit page of Syntronik 2. Are you finding any of this not to be the case?

An interesting theory. Perhaps because I’m a little older than some of you guys (and somewhat crankier?), it’s becoming a bit wearing on me. Yes, their products are very good, and yes their deals are very good…..but I’d definitely prefer to spend more time with the music and less with the downloads, trying to figure out how to fix the downloads, re-downloading…..

Correct. At least as of last night, Syner V downloads from Product Manager were still not installing correctly.

Thx. I’m also starting from scratch on my backup computer, which doesn’t have Syn 2 installed on it yet.

On a PC, and already tried reinstalling everything. Is there a master list for what’s on Part 4? That way I might at least isolate the issue.

Eg… “ Instrument ST4 Error. Cannot locate Tank at path D/Syntronik 2/Samples/Syntronik Syner-V/Syner-V Square Decay/Syner-V Square Decay .pak”

A little off topic, but I get an error message when clicking on about half of the Syner V instrument presets. Have tried re-installing, Re-scanning, checking content paths, etc. Any other ideas ? Thx
