  1. How is everyone doing? This tread will be on a long forgotten item and request on the stock Sonitus plugins. Can we get a new modern look on it? It is still great plugins, although many might feel otherwise. I still use the Compressor, Phase and Delay on an everyday mix. I use the Sonitus compressor first in my fx chain, followed by other manufactory/brand plugins with a favorite compressor at the end of my chain -- to create a limiting effect on Vocals. I use the Sonitus delay 80% in all my mixes to create a chorus effect on guitars, vocals and snare drums, or to give the drums that slap room effect. Reason why I'm requesting an update to its UI - clients keep asking me why am I using old plugins in their projects. Now I have to explain to them, the why and the "what feel/sound" I get from using them. They still sound great. It is just really embarrassing to keep getting asked that question. So please, can we get that make-over to it and bring them to a modern look? ? W.
  2. I'm writing this thread to help anyone with some system problems especially our veterans. I've read all over the site how users struggle with some issue's directly related to CbB and others not. So here's a few tricks and tips to help. 1: Try to keep your system up-to-date every week. Windows 10 has a scheduler build-in for you to set this feature automatically. 2: Download all recommended cumulative Visual C++ (especially and i'm stressing, "dotNet3.5") updates for your windows build manually. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hjoOnybmpg New Netframe Available: Download latest Netframe 5.0.2 here Best Solution: Download the "All-in-one Runtimes" pack here. https://www.itechtics.com/net-framework-versions-offline-installers/ 3: How to check your windows build for windows 10 users: Go to your search bar, type in "WINVER" and press enter. This will pop up a little window with your current windows version. For "windows 7" users: Go start and type in "CMD" or check out this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmiMXHsziPo 4: Download and install your motherboard's "Live Updater" app from your manufacture's website. Go to their website and search for "Live Update app" trust me, this will help you tremendously - if not solving all your problems. 5: Make sure you have the recommended system specification, to run CbB fluently. 6: Make sure all your plugins are compatible and that all your analog gear drives are up-to-date. 7: Check your system for faulty hardware and disks. Optimize your hard drive and if possible - upgrade to an SSD disk. The faster your hard drive is, the fewer issues you'll have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toLYV7th0L8 8: Check all your USB hubs. This might seems unrelated, but it does affect your system's performance. Especially if it's not plugged into the correct port. Make sure USB 2.0 hubs are plugged into the 2.0 ports, and all your USB 3.0-speed hubs/devices are connected to your 3.0 ports. 9: Try not to use the color tracks if you don't have enough RAM or at least a 5th Generation CPU or higher installed, as this consumes a lot of graphics and characters causing known and unknown performance issues within the DAW. 10: Try and render/bounce every virtual instrument track to a waveform before mixing. Use oversampling only when you're happy and satisfied with the end result of your mix. Some of these tips and tricks might be outside your systems capabilities, especially if you are still running windows 7, with the new Cakewalk Updates from 2020. 04 and later. Unfortunately how this works is as follow. When ever windows release a new update, does not matter which DAW you use - it has to keep up with windows update. What worked in a previous release might not be compatible with the new update. It's engine constantly has to be altered/modified/update to stay fluently working or at least lessor problematic with the new Windows update. Though this being said - feedback from users is always helpful and that is why it is highly recommended to keep the "User Analytics" box ticked under preferences. I hope this will help a lot of users. I also want to say I don't work for Bandlab - I'm a user like everyone else. It just happened to be that I have dealt with some of these problems some time ago in the past, and have found some recommended solutions that works. W. ✌️
  3. @Marc Bleuwart This could be due CPU overload. Out of virtual memory, over sampling, a plugin that is not compatible, slowing down your system (iZotope, Lurssen) or windows update issue. I can't stress this enough - I've literally had this issue before.
  4. To give you even a more greater experience, download your Motherboards "live updater app" from the manufactures website and update your drivers through it as well. I'm a "Program Insider" for windows, so I'm running the 2004 build before it's released to the public. It's a bit heavy on CPU and RAM - This you can actually feel. Something I have never experienced before, and I'm talking about slow or sluggish, it literally feels heavy.
  5. Do you have the recommended cumulative windows updates installed?
  6. An MSI or AMD computer is your best buy. It is build primarily for the purpose to take the punch of today's video games amongst the youth with its speed, graphics, memory, heavy cpu usage etc. - which cakewalk will demand by making its platform available for plugins to be used within. A strong, speedy motherboard such as AMD or MSI should be considered. This is my opinion from my past experiences with DAW's. Obviously with your quickest "i7 generation CPU you can afford, with Ram cards, (Cossiar) and SSD drive."
  7. @msmcleod Regarding to this issue. Take a quick look if you disable the "blue pre loop indicators" if it solve this problem. When "Copying" tracks by drag and drop - you have to set that pre loop indicator's to you desired selection, in order to copy only what you want it to copy. I think this came with when the arranger was introduced. Now - I might be wrong with this, but I had a work around/something similar before regarding this. Have to go sit later to with this again. I might have used the Ctrl+D shortcut. Wish I was home right now.
  8. Where do I start . . ? Hi team. First of all -- If there's a way to do this within Cakewalk, please let me know. So, I received a project from a client and normally, I would render every stem to be used in Cakewalk. I'd started working on this project yesterday, but in the FLP file it came with. Sitting in studio as I'm taking a break, a thought pop up. Wouldn't it be cool for EDM producers, if Cakewalk had the ability to do automation by tempo sync - much like how "FL Studio" do with "Link controller and Peak controller" combined for sidechain or for any other creative effect with any plugin. Again, if this can be done in Cakewalk - let me know. Imagine how creative those in EDM, Dance, House, Electro, Pop, HipHop can be with this in Cakewalk. Right now plugins will do, but imagine how much CPU load it will spare. Anyway. I hope this spark some good discussions and fill some holes I wasn't clear enough on. ? W.
  9. Awesome plugin and its free! ?Whaaaaaaat?
  10. Yeah. I'm on v1.0.3 too now. It's my everyday goto "tape stop" plugin when doing live broadcast DJ'ing.
  11. So over the weekend I had uninstalled Cakewalk and reinstalled it. It was sitting on its default settings since saturday. Today, I then decided - seeing that my DAW sits on default settings, let me do a clean install of my OS. So now I'm currently busy installing everything back on it. I know this might be to late for this release, but maybe in the next update or later in the year -- can we get the track "Insert Audio FX Layout tab" to work with the mouse wheel to sroll up and down, when it has reach the screen display limit? Both in Track view and Browser view, when moving plugins from the "uncategorized folder" to a category folder (Browser only.) Right now to scroll up or down you have to do by left click.
  12. Hey jonathan. I've manage to get to work. What I did was, I went and uninstal Cakewalk and all registery, including my Wavesfactor Cassette Transport Plugin with Advance System Care - Yesterday. Did a fresh install of Cakewalk 2020.04 - ran EA build 1, and the second one. Went on Wavefactory website and requested another copy - it's a free plugin after all. It's working perfectly again. ? Just have to deal with the process of installing everything again. Unrelated but, ? Bet you im gona run into some ilok licensing issues soon. ? Anyway -- Just thought I should give feedback my side. ?
  13. Can we just take some time out of our busy schedule with family - whether you're still in lockdown in your country or not. Let's take this opportunity and just thank the team at Bandlab, the creators and moderators behind this forum. While every country went into their own time period of Lockdown -- yet, everyday we were greeted with feedback on complaints put in by our community. We sometime forget to say "Thank You" and ignored the question - How are we getting feedback and updates, while everyone around the world is under "Lockdown," spending time with family throughout this pandemic. So, fellow community members let's just take 5 minutes to say "Thank You" right now, to everyone involved. Thank you! Team CbB. We appreciate "everything you do. We hope and we pray, to grow bigger, bad**s together." YOU ROCK!!! ???? W.
  14. Yes, I'm an insider so I get to test it out before it get's released. So far all good. At first i had dreadful slow online. It reminded me of win xp if not "98." I did the release and renew with netsh. Increased my virtual memory/ "paging" (physical ram size × 1.5) nothing changed. Disconnected from the wifi and found out the my laptop is running as suppose to. Uninstalled some software , connect back online - same thing. Checked for more unnecessary programs just to find out that, if I have more than one browser with Edge installed -- I get this problem. Doesn't matter which browser I use alone, it runs smooth. So there's a clash issue amongst dominance for default space occurring some where. I did report this to Microsoft. No feedback yet, but there's a lot of users complaining yet again about slow internet as 4 years back with the 1609 build. With that being said . . . give it a shot. You might not have any issues. Different machines = different firmware, hardware, drivers and of course -- personal use of software. Ps: Make those backups. ?
  15. It disabled mine that came with the Bandlab installation. Luckily I always make a restore point before doing any updates. Unfortunately, I have never owned a copy of melodyne before until the integrated version with cakewalk. So I dont know how this works. Maybe I should look into buying a copy - studio maybe? I'm just comfortable with Wavetunes and Antares. I've used melodyne primarily on lip edits. Never done drums, keyboard, guitars, strings etc. on it. I should be ashamed of myself not knowing melodyne that good. ?
  16. Thanks Jonathan. Like I said, I'm using this every weekend, and with the 2020.04 build I never had the problem. So I don't know. I went as far as uninstall cakewalk and re-install it - four times I think. Anyway, really appreciate the feedback to look into this.
  17. Yeah. Dont know where my dumb butt were at when I created that thread. It seems as if my mind was MIA. ?
  18. O'man! Only see now where I'd drop this thread. Please read the thread in the link. I have posted this in the wrong Category of discussion. Here's the link though. Be responsible. Don't drink and discuss issues kids.✌ W.
  19. Hi Team. I'm experiencing some bugs with the new update - well this is with the EA update to v2020.05 This happens with three plugins which the pervious 2020.04 did not cause. It's with the Wavesfactory Cassette transport, Antares EFX, and LexDualDelay (only when removing it from the project.) This is on both empty, or working project and as I said - this is new to me. Tested them in FL Studio and Reaper - Works perfectly fine there. I do live broadcast Dj performances with my laptop weekends on two local radio station in my city, and really need this to work in the new update. For now i will do a rollback to 2020.04. Any advice on this? ? .
  20. Yes. Do a cut on the region you want to fix, hold down on Ctrl and drag up and down. The all new Dynamic Waveform will be out on the next release next week, nit sure about the date. If you want to testbit out head over to the 2020.05 Early Access Thread and download the update.
  21. @msmcleod? Had to edited this: As I was making a Gif. I realised, Cakewalk can do this already. ? Just a forgotten feature. I have gotten so used to doing it with the automation side of it. Where you go to Clip Automation followed by Gain, highlight a region, move to the top of the waveform and move it down. The "Static" clip gain I was talking about - is already there. Do a cut on both side of the problem region, hold down Ctrl and drag. ?? How could I forget that? aka clip gain/event gain. I deeply apologize. It's a forgotten feature by me. I owe you.
  22. Lol. You're rephrasing what I said here and in the link. ? We speaking the same tongue, just translating things differently. When I asked this back in January 2020 I said the exact same thing. Here we are with the visual side of it. "Yay-Me" Decrease /increase of region volume with a slider of knob when doing surgical tweaks just by holding down a key, or drag up/down (as what is in the original post.) This would be just an "Add-on" feature, where the DAW does the crossfades automatically without the envelope. This will then be an Add-on feature and not replacing the envelope feature. Option to use both will still be there.
  23. True to what other are telling you. I've been saying this for a year on different forums since the v1.0.3 - and now the v1.1.0 Lurssen became CPU hungry. The previous v1.0.1 and v1.0.0 versions works perfectly. From what i've seen by a close friend who uses Mac and Protools, he is sweating crazy on CPU with Lurssen. Unlike loading Lurssen v1.0.1 with 64tracks all processed with plugins loaded and open in Cakewalk, he cant use Lurssen directly in his projects - as what I can in Cakewalk. So - it's a build-in increase in LMC oversampling process - not the DAW's it get used in.
  24. First of all, to everyone at Bandlab that was working on this - A tip of the hat, what amazing job indeed. When I first requested this back in January, I didnt think it will happen this year - seeing that the pandemic limits certain area's and departments every where around the world. Secondly: Can I just request another feature to this? I've explained most right here on the other side of the link ? Would it be possible to get rid of the envelope with this? Reason for this is . . . When going in to do surgical work it is highly crucial that the overall levels stay exactly the same and intact without the slightest difference in volume. I have done some playing around with this, going deep with the wave and instantly caused the envelopes coming into the nodes to slightly slope down. That is bad, being so used to doing things quick. So by removing the envelope lane to increase or decrease the volume just by highlighting a region "Left click on the mouse while holding down." Think it be a much safer working environment. Even with the already highlightinh of region scrolling up to move the envelope down/up cause problems as it sometimes move the entire envelope. I pray in good spirits this translate over positively. Again - Amazing job. ?
  25. Yeah. If you're running 1.0.3 and 1.1.0 yeah. CPU hungry indeed. I'm still on 1.0.1 and I can push it hard with know incidents. Another well known buddy has version 1.1.0 and he is sweating crazy on CPU usage with LURSSEN Mastering suite. There's forums out on this problem and everyone speaks one tongue on this matter. I don't have the new updates, so I cant speak from personal experiences. Hope this will shine some light into researching this. ?
