@mefodia please check if you have access to free loops when you sign in to the BandLab Studio web application. You should sign with the same user id that you are using with Sonar.

But PDC gets recalculated when playback is restarted, and the contribution of any plugin that's disabled in the bin will be eliminated at that point.
In addition to disabling the plugin, Sonar has a PDC [Override] button in the Mix module that will override PDC on input-monitored tracks so long as the PDC-inducing plugin(s) is/are not on that track or in its path to the ouput.
Right, if the plug-in is bypassed, the pdc is eliminated once you restart playback.

If you have poor internet and are unable to sign on as a result of that use offline activation to sign in by creating the activation response from a different computer that has a good internet connection.

Is this project specific? Not seeing anything abnormal here.
Post a link to the specific project file since that's the only way to check it.
Also try this on other project files and also try David Baay's suggestion of pre-creating the target track and check if that resolves it. -
Then you need to attach or send the specific project that has the issue. Otherwise there is no way to diagnose further.

Not seeing any of these symptoms here. Are you running the latest build 36?

yep: I'll give that a try. And yes, I am capturing midi via a drum controller. The thing is, I've been doing this for quite a while; with the new update, I'm suddenly having all the issues I've mentioned. I'm hoping @Noel Borthwick might chime in here.
@Adam A test build was sent to you via PM yesterday that should resolve a potential crash. Please test it ASAP and report back.
Regarding lag we're not sure why you are seeing that since there have been no changes in MIDI groove clip rendering itself. However, the crash scenario could have exposed some side effects so please report back if it's working correctly with the build.
Otherwise send a simple representative test project that exhibits the lag.-

Its a known issue that BReverb has problems rendering some automation with fast bounce. You could possibly get around it by doing a realtime bounce or by using an Aux track to record the rendered output.

The latest update has disabled Bounce to Track on my machine.
I can run a MIDI track to my drum machine, and it works--the meters for MIDI and audio show activity. When I try to bounce the two, the MIDI track meter shows activity, and the audio track does not. The resulting bounced track is silent. I've tried every kind of bounce to get the track I need, and it's not happening.
I REALLY REALLY wish you had provided a rollback option for this release. As it stands, I have no way to make my virtual instruments respond to MIDI in a bounce. Since that's kind of an essential capability, I am REALLY REALLY baffled that Cakewalk let this release go out with such a glaring error.
I notice that another comment on this forum said that he can't export audio. Coincidence?
Bounce to track is working as expected here with virtual instruments in build 36. Without more specifics its hard to follow what you are attempting to do. What is "drum machine"? There are no changes to bounce as such in this release.

Audio Export automation is only accurate (for lack of a better term) if Render in Real time is chosen. I'm not sure if this is related to the latest updates (.033 and .036) but I have just noticed this issue after installing them. I have an envelope, on a sub, which fades quickly to -INF on the last note of a song so that there is no audible reverb trail . The automation works perfectly during playback but, when I export an Entire Mix render of the file (not in real-time), there is still reverb audible at the end. If I render the file in real-time, the automation works as intended (a workaround, but not optimal). I originally had an envelope on just the Breverb plug in and noticed this. Alternatively, I tried automating Breverb2 (Pro Channel) in case this might be successful, but I had the same result. Finally, I tried putting a volume envelope on the sub. Also, the same result (which really surprised me, lol!). Not sure what's happening here.
This sound like a bug in BReverb rather than a Sonar issue. Try a different reverb.

Note that while saving from a crash dialog generally works, it's not guaranteed, since if the app state is already compromised, it may crash while saving itself.

Spacial panner or the old (badly named) sonitus surround are unrelated to surround sound. You can use either on a surround bus if you so choose using surround bridge.

Please read "Why do I sometimes get an Application Expired message?" in this FAQ.

The message is telling you that the current build you are running has been superseded by another build that has important fixes.
As Jon mentioned, we updated the build on Friday due to a new version, due to a problem that could potentially cause data loss. Updating to build 36 should work fine.15 hours ago, carlo said:Well, I am trying to update but it doesn`t happen! The same message is showing!
Please check your internet connection/reboot PC etc. It's probably a temporary internet issue that's preventing you from reaching the download server.
Also go to help | check for updates to retry the check.-

Many thanks!! Any reason we don't have a roll back option, just in case some work is needed on a critical project?
You can reinstall a prior downloaded installer if you haven't deleted it (assuming that that version hasn't expired). It takes infrastructure to provide rollback. We may provide rollback to the last supported version for paid members in the future.

There should be a notification prior to the expiration of the lease. However if Sonar is infrequently used you may not have seen the notification. Note that it will never go inactive mid session so you can't lose edits that way.
Also expired builds are a different thing from the normal activation lease. We expire builds that are very old or when there is a known problem that can cause customer data loss for example.
I'll look into the UI sluggishness when it's offline. That shouldn't be happening. Possibly what's happening is that it's trying to do an internet check and that's timing out and blocking the UI.

This did not happen with the previous release, I only hope there’s a hot fix, I don’t believe it’s my system...
This is fixed in the update related today.

I am a cakewalk youtuber from China, aiming to provide Chinese users with better free DAW
After the latest 2025.9 (Build032) update, I am unable to use the free sampling library mentioned in the update log. In the browser on the right, I can see the "Free" icon, but when I drag the free samples into the track, it prompts me to "get membership"
Yes this wasn't intentional. We'll investigate and fix it soon.

We're going to make the core plugins available to demo soon. Note that if you turn off migration it won't replace the older plugins on your project. It also warns you when it replaced the plugins. In the next release we're also migrating any old plug-in presets you may have saved to make the process painless.
But it's fairly easy to save a copy of your project with the new plugins.

Interesting. Sonars optimizations that allow better low latency performance also implicitly means its using your CPU more efficiently, by keeping it busy. So its not impossible that it creates more heat on a loaded project.
-
Have you looked into background processes? Your symptoms sound like some background progress either consuming excess CPU or interfering with your audio driver. If it's only in this project it could also be a plug-in. Sonar cannot excess cpu when it's not playing.

I now have to close and reopen the project, then the horizontal meters will come back and I can hit 1 to change to the correct workspace
This is most likely related to this issue which has been fixed for the next release. BTW the number keys change screensets, which are a different thing from workspaces.

I'm at 2025.07 Build 109, X64 ...
I've been noticing this issue for awhile, possibly even before moving to Cakewalk Sonar paid version ...
I often use the FX button on the control bar to bypass all FX, either for checking mixes, or to improve performance briefly while doing live recording. So to turn all the FX back on, I hit the FX button again ... BUT I've been seeing that often there are a few tracks where the FX bin shows Bypass FX Bin is still checked. It doesn't happen on all tracks, usually only a few of them.
I'm reasonably sure it's caused by using the global FX bypass on the control bar. And it catches me by surprise because I'm not in the habit of checking every FX Bin after using global bypass. I should say that I very very rarely Bypass the FX Bin on individual tracks ... my habit has been all or none.
Anyone else had this happen?
@Jim Stamper this has been addressed for the next release.

Not sure what you are referring to. The title bar is highlit to show the current window. Standard windows MDI behavior.
Also project windows cannot leave the application frame. Also standard behavior.
