  1. I had a really great experience with the use of a carefully set up windows on my old desktop for as long as 10 consecutive years(!) without any hiccup or unwanted adventures. I only used it to have the load of an audio/midi work done quick and smoothly and another pc, a laptop actually, for anything else. Once proper set this pc was as reliable as a japanese car and never gave me any problem, always working perfectly because I have used it exclusively for a specified music job and it always gave me expected results. I was very satisfied from it that way, never let me down no a single once, probably it would still serve me well even today if it was 64-bit but there was time for an upgrade. For years it was easy to go that route with previous windows versions plus I had my Sonar with only serial# but now the new software is asking for online access and since windows 10 and the forced updates things have changed. It's much more difficult now. You have to put so much care to keep it offline or keep it from unnecessary updates if you have to go online even for a moment. And any forced are the unnecessary ones in this case. It's most likely that at some point one of the updates will mess up something and here's the problem because I absolutely don't want or need any changes, any new features, quality or security updates etc. on this particular machine, like you would need for a typical online pc, to have the job done. I want it to stay untouched for the next 10 years. On my new laptop (the online one) I only have done one bigger update since I have it, from 1809 to 1903 just recently, and already had some problems to overcome. But it's fine, that's what I have this laptop for. But again, I don't want *ANY* changes to be made to my production desktop for years, just keep it working flawlessly the way I have set it. Well, I'll try and see how it goes. Soon I should have it up and working. Not sure this will answer your question but at least I have tried.
  2. @marled I was just going to tell you about that very same tool made by scook!
  3. Someone's in BF mood already!
  4. @Starship Krupa hi, I get the impression that you read posts quickly, here in this topic at least, without going much into details what the author is trying to say. And then you start to defense Bandlab as if someone was trying to fight Bandlab, but some here are actually only fighting a situation, that seems to not concern you at all. No one is fighting with Bandlab though. In my post I said that I have a laptop that's always online (the one I'm posting on the forum btw) where I have Cakewalk installed but I'm also building a production PC that I'm going to keep offline. I don't update Cakewalk with each next version released and would wish that version installed on the offline machine to keep working until I decide for a next update. And even if I'm forced to do it every 6 months, the risk of going through same issues as Marled is a bit terrifying for me. You don't want it to happen on your production machine especially when in the middle of a project of in front of your clients. It appears that even few minutes online twice a year can mess up your offline setup. Having the offline option is very desirable here for me perhaps just because I'm that kind of a person, idk, and most other software offers a solution. It is fine if you can't understand it and it says that you don't feel the need for it. With time I have gathered intro versions of few other DAWs that I'm messing with around and for the moment when my production machine will be ready to fire up maybe I'll decide to go with a different DAW, we'll see. No big deal. And in any case I still have my SONAR working... just recently tried it and activated offline. It worked perfectly so there's that.
  5. Damn terrifying, and I'm in process of building slowly an offline machine right now. I was having that suggestion once in another topic, why not give us an option for offline activation, even a paid one for those who want to "go pro" - install and have peace of mind also if one wants to keep that version forever. And it's same easy to control the amount of activations since the process would have to go through the servers anyway for an unlock code. On my laptop that is always connected I have run bandlab assistant only once when installing cakewalk, next time will be when I decide to install another new version. How much is that different from staying offline?
  6. oh btw I just recently installed waves plugins on another laptop and had absolutely no issues with it, I have selection of v9 and v10, just followed the instructions on waves website sure I will keep my old versions as they are as I don't see a point for wasting money just for upgrading, can't find a single advantage in the upgrade seems like money rob some may like the new GUI retouch but... seriously Waves, another payment for gui retouch and few fixes...? EDIT: all that is obviously from a windows user point of view, not a Mac user entirely here
  7. IIRC last Xmas sale wasn't that good, it was 2 or 3 years ago when they was selling plugins for $9 but they never did it again, that efficiently cured me from the Waves GAS later on because I waited and waited and waited for another $9 sale... think I will wait again

    Magix Acid Pro 9

    What is it good for?
  9. Just wait with the update until you have finished your current projects. Just in case.
  10. If you use sandboxie and the sandboxed web browser then you may have issues with that. Seems that the new windows update changed some permissions for writing to disk. Other than that no more issues.
  11. I've sent them email cause I'm not sure they will make it without my 24,99...

    IK Axe I/O

Thanks! It seems there's something going wrong in my account. I have contacted support already but they said I have to wait now a couple days for any response. Let's see if they will make it before the october sale is over.
  13. So today I have received a parcel with my brand new iTrack with "factory fresh" fragrance and successfully registered in my account. Later this evening I just received full refund in my card. I have *NO IDEA* what is going on there but they must have quite an epic mess down in their office. Come on focusrite, get along!

    IK iRig Keys I/O

Actually I was a little disappointed to see that they have skipped many fundamental sounds in SE like shakers, tambourines etc. Can't serve as your primary bread & butter synth of choice.

Looking at the Sampletank 4 comparison chart here https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/include/st4/soundlist/SampleTank_4_comparison.pdf, I see there are some sounds from Sampletank 2 XL included in the Sampletank 4 SE row. Are they included in the Sampletank 4 SE Sounds Download or only if you have Sampletank 2 XL in the account?
  16. "Plugin registered successfully". No issues here whatsoever.
  17. I thought that's what they were thinking .
  18. Even though I have adapted myself fairly quick to the new ways of doing things in the X series, I still have the impression that I could make the "clickery" job done much quicker and smoother in the old versions, I think mainly of midi editing in piano roll. There are some tasks counter-intuitive, like deleting notes or lasso-selecting, now. Pulling up the context menu too. It works but still feels kind of odd. I'm very subjective here .
  19. Apparently Focusrite's not for me. I just received email saying that they've cancelled my order due to "stock discrepancy". I wasn't sure I really need to enter the "Focusrite way" and now since they've make it even harder I think I'll just stay away. Hopefully I'm the only one with bad luck and not you.
  20. Groove clip looping here too. For what it's great, you can make splits and drag-slip edit the edges anytime, anywhere. Great for adjusting the arrangement.

Guys, just a quick question. If you're making a purchase in the IK online store from an EU country, do they charge you the VAT amount according to your country or Italian VAT? Thx
  22. Is it any good if I have tons of other synths like synthmaster, korgs, AIR bundle etc?
