In the video mentioned above it shows that when the strip is expanded in track view track there is n FX option to which an effect was added. When I expand the strip there is no such option. Is there a likely reason for this? See screenshots below. The first is from the MT Drumkit website. The letters FX appear after the 'A' on Track 2. The second is my project. There is no FX in the expanded strip..

Conversion to Audio results in sudden ending
brandon replied to brandon's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I tried this one but it didn't work when converting to audio from midi. I think its for when you export audio only. -
To clarify - if i dont want to use up more space or have a project with different time sigs (for example) is it simply best to just 'save' the project when am closing it?
-
When I checked my wav files location i find there is nothing in the folder. I presumed it would hold all audio recordings from my projects - is this not the case?
-
I understand that if you just 'Save' a project each time you close it etc. you will amass a load of unnecessary and unwanted audio stored somewhere on your PC. And the only way to avoid this is to 'Save As' each time. This is inconvenient for a number of reasons. Is this really the case and if so does anyone know why?

Conversion to Audio results in sudden ending
brandon replied to brandon's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I found a tip in some old Sonar X3 help. What you do is highlight an extra few bars at the end of the track with the tails. This will get converted into audio and the effects that are tailing off will be recorded also. Thanks for the assistance. It got me thinking laterally and worked out very well. -
Conversion to Audio results in sudden ending

There is a way of dealing with tails while exporting audio. But I am struggling to find out how to deal with tails when bouncing midi into an audio track. Its very confusing as it should be quite simple. -
Is there a reason to choose one of the above bit rates over the other when exporting audio?

Audio format does not match current project sample rate
brandon replied to brandon's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Its all good. Thanks. Another quick one. I wanted to copy a number of audio tracks (6) from one project to another. I wouldnt be able to save them as one file so using the browser to drag and drop wouldn't be the answer unless i dragged them in one by one however they all have different start and finish times and copying them as a group would be much easier than lining them all up one at a time. Am sure there must be a way to copy a number of tracks simultaneously. -
Audio format does not match current project sample rate

Sounds logical. Would I have to save the audio as a wav file first before importing it? -
Thank you. Very helpful.

Thank you. Is there also a way of telling whether they are mono or stereo?

I am trying to paste into a project an audio clip that I have copied from another project but I keep getting the message above. I have checked the sample rates of the projects and bit rates and they are identical. Any ideas? For information the audio clip I am copying was created by bouncing to a track. Thank you

I have tried to separate the individual drums onto their own tracks but have not been successful. I can load MT Drums with all synth outputs to stereo or mono but although there are 16 drums available and 16 tracks have been created I am only able to number them from 1 to 8. The dropdown does not include numbers 9 to 16 and i wondered why this might be and was there a way around it. Thank you in advance.

I have a Drums VST in my project and would like to know if there is a way to find out what it was added as. For example a Simple Instrument Track. Might this be possible? Thanks

I have converted a drum track to audio and when I play it and it reaches the end of the track it stops abruptly without allowing any decay from reverb and shimmering cymbals. Is there a way to prevent this -do I need to another measure to the end of the original track for example?
-
Does session drummer require minimal install too?

I would like to add my own thoughts as a long time user since Cakewalk Apprentice; although there was a major gap between Pro Audio 9 and Sonar and then CbB. In Pro Audio 9 I became so conversant with it it became second nature when I was recording and mixing/producing. It was such a simple programme to use with no complicated issues. Straight forward audio and midi recording using soundfonts and/or General Midi sounds (and on an Intel 486 processor PC with 8MB Ram and a 365MB hard drive. And a 14" monitor). It allowed me to produce (in a non-professional way) some amazing songs in top quality that when people listen to today cant believe I recorded them almost 25 years ago. When I 'rejoined' Cakewalk about 10 years ago using Music Creator I found it not too intimidating and soon got back into the swing of things. But as has been mentioned above times have moved on. And we now have super programming at our fingertips. But am not sure the majority of us want this. A more stable, easy to use, friendly interface cut down version would suit me to the ground. All I want to do is record maybe 4 or 5 instruments including drums, and some vocals and add effects and mix/master them onto a very listenable piece of audio. The processing power and options available in CbB is light years ahead of what most users need never mind want. And the way the music industry has gone and is going has resulted in the majority of music being listened to as downloads or streamed. The quality of the sound is much reduced and dictated by the type of headphones, earphones or earbuds that are being used combined with the device that is receiving the information and converting it into something tangible i.e. music. And I just wonder are we all too far ahead of the game. Who really does need music recorded at the maximum amount of khz as possible with the maximum amount of 'bits' when its mainly going to be listened to while on the bus or walking down the street or while dozing in a a sun lounger on a piece of telephony equipment? I am a Cakewalk fan through and through but I dont need what it offers and would love to see a 'lite' version for us home recording artists that still allows us to produce something of commercial quality (without the bells and whistles) and who may one day produce that elusive No. 1 hit that has been recorded by a world famous artist simply because it was 'out there' and they liked it ?

Sorry I was looking at the FAQs on the main page. I get it now. Thanks

They look like real questions asked by members and they update daily. I just cant find out how to ask one.

In the Frequently Asked Questions I cant fathom out how to ask a question as there is no 'start new topic (or rather start new question) option. Can anyone advise? Thanks
