Is SONAR Platinum still possible to activate?
paulo replied to Canopus's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
OK thanks. I didn't read article as you asked win 7. Oh well, I guess it won't be a problem until PC dies and then the issue will cease to become one anyway. FWIW this is what I got when I just tried to open it again.... No idea what that is all about. It didn't happen the other times. -

TBH I'm thinking that I had probably already installed the one in the link as I have a d/load of that dated 8/6/23 and I cant think of a reason why I would have d/loaded it and then not installed it, but anyway, yes I have tried uninstall/reinstall and it still won't open. Tried run as admin too and that makes no difference. -
Interesting idea....I like the vox, but whatever the lead sound is could be dialled back a bit. I found myself wanting to turn it down most of the time.

Really nice sonic palette Bjorn. I'm guessing that everyone who has augmented voices will use that sound at some point, I know that I gravitated to it straight away. Being picky I'd say the drums/percussion feels a bit loopy. I dunno, maybe that's just me or even intentional....

Sounds very good on lappy speakers. It's kind of busy and laid back at the same time. Nice work.

Mix sounds great on my lappy speakers Lynn and I really like the way the song builds and the overall sonic palette and structure. Three listens in I do think that the delay effect would be more impactful if just used here and there rather than being all over it. Being picky (whilst keeping in mind that we're talking lappy speakers) the vox level could maybe be taken down a smidgen to sit more in than on but make of that what you will given the listening equipment. Great work overall though. It feels shorter than it actually is, so that has to be a good thing.

I went into the jeweller's shop and asked for a battery. "Is it for a clock?" the shop assistant asked. I said " I don't know, that's why I want a battery."

The big hint was where I said that I had just installed the version recommended by CW in this thread and it still doesn't work. ? -
Uh oh.....looks like Satya's one of those pesky disinformation spreaders...

FWIW I couldn't get CC to open for me when I tried it after seeing this thread,, so today I installed the version from this link and nothing has changed. I get the window that asks if I want to allow it to open, answer yes and then nothing....... The last time I tried it was when the discontinuation announcement was made and it was fine then. -
Turntable question...... Mine has just started playing up... It was fine the last time I used it (a few months maybe) but when I tried to use the other day the speed is all over the place. It's not a belt issue because there isn't one. I know nothing about it as I was given it by someone who has moved away now. Is this likely to be a fixable (assuming that I can find anyone who fixes them) or is it just junk now? FWIW Toshiba SR-Q660...

It's official: CbB will not continue for long.

You just said it twice. -
Is Larry kind of admitting that an Addictive Drums type attitude towards the updating of software might have been better ?

I can't believe you just called me a moron, that's so unfair. I'm going to report you to the world internet police. Let's see if you still find it funny to pick on people after they've paid you a visit?

And still using 70's excuses for buying them..... Bravo sir ! 10/10 for era authenticity. "No, honestly my love.... I didn't even notice that there were any naked ladies in there because I didn't even look at those pages....." " So how did you know what pages not to look at....?" "Erm........ well, erm...... it says on the cover that the fascinating article on vintage steam train journeys, which is obviously the only reason that I bought whatever publication this is, is on pages 73-78 so that's the only pages I looked at.....Phewee..... is it me or is it hot in here......?"

Meh, but hopefully this will make Arturia pull their finger out and release a full mk3 range.
-
If that is the case, then I sincerely hope that the new Sonar was designed by someone else.

Go to last post still doesn't work unless signed in. I guess by now they either aren't gonna fix that or it's by design. PITA either way.
