  1. There is no compulsion to buy anything that NI sell. Nobody really "needs" it and if the asking price becomes too much for the current marketplace at any given time they will either have to act accordingly or get used to not selling anything. In this sense, consumers already have all the power if only they would collectively use it. I thought you were smart enough to know full well that I am not talking here about people who are having difficulties making ends meet. This is a software forum and as such the discussion is about very non-essential items, but since you bring up the subject of those who are barely getting by then I would think that the cost of having some sample libraries isn't even close to being one of the things that keep them awake at night. Is anyone really thinking........hmmm, what to do, what to do...........I really like the look of Komplete Ultimate, but I can't afford to get that AND feed the kids.................what should I do,? It's all so confusing.
  2. C'mon........what we're talking about here are essentially toys. If a few people can't afford new toys for a while, it's hardly the end of the world. Might even be a good thing in the long run. If more than a few people stop buying the toys then the toy sellers will have to adjust their prices accordingly as demand (or lack of) always wins. Personally. I'm a little sick of hearing the....."I'm a poor (insert person type of choice) and because of Covid, I can't really afford the full price of (insert non-essential item of choice) so I should be able to get it cheaper. This seeming perception that everyone is entitled to have everything at a price that they can afford is ridiculous. Almost everyone apart from ppe/sign printers and perspex screen installers is being adversely affected in some way by this (insert description of choice) so a few muso types who have to make do for a while with their sub-standard sample libraries isn't really worth even thinking about.
  3. Which ironically was the one thing you couldn't do.......

    Where’s Lars

Phew.......I was beginning to fear the absolute worst case scenario, the unimaginable even......... Something that I had always thought I would never live to see looked like it might be about to become real............ Bapu being right about something. (Shivers) I should never have doubted myself.
  5. Obvs depends on the vehicle to some extent as there are some that no amount of tweaking can ever make good, but generally I look at most attempts to "improve" what a team of professional designers took years to perfect as money wasted.I used to live next door to guy who bought a regular hatchback type thing and gradually spent more money than the car was worth turning it into something that looked like he'd just driven a powerful magnet past a car accessory store. He'd have spent far less buying a decent car in the first place. Even very high end vehicles can be rendered practically unsaleable by unfortunate choices in the manufacturers options list. To bring it back to Cakewalk, take a look at the user themes and it soon becomes apparent that making a good looking one might not be as easy as you might think.
  6. I would imagine that everything in the store here would be far cheaper on your side of the pond, but if you do ever find yourself there, give your wallet to a responsible adult before you go in. Failing that, I'll look after it for you.?
  7. So you think that I'd deliberately leave my money at home whilst simultaneously deliberately taking an alternative payment method with me?
  8. Yep. That's why I never take any money with me unless I've already decided to buy.?
  9. Some, but in terms of all that is available, no not really. I think they pretty much leave that side to T&S which I was told is where they get them from anyway. I bought Komplete from them because I wanted the HD version (which is a total waste of time & money) and it suited me to go and collect it myself. They're also not very good (polite version) at responding to emails, but once you're actually in the shop it's all good.

  11. Yeah, it's definitely best to leave your wallet at home 'cos they're very accommodating and will let you play with anything you like for as long as you like with zero pressure. Whoever set the place up really thought about it. In the cafe area (to the right of where you walk in at the start of the video) there is also a small performance area for open mic type things and there are also fully equipped / serviced studios for hire.
  12. This is the nearest one to me.... If that's not enough for you, they also serve bacon sandwiches.........

    I STILL MISS YOU

Very nice. Only listening on lappy, but I agree that the chorus needs more of a lead voice. I'm 50:50 re the reverb - on the one hand I like it, on the other I can imagine that dialling it back a smidge wouldn't do any harm. Have you posted before under a different name as your voice seems very familiar to me, but not the name?
  14. Based on the voices in your head or do you have some info? You can't just come in here and drop a vague hint at a new Spectrasonics product and then wander off again........?
  15. That's a very good deal indeed. If I didn't have it already I would be all over that.

    Gone

Gone by gone has been and gone, bygone.
  17. Well y'see........ craigb is way more cleverer than wot we all are cuz he nearly got a qualification in something or other and can remember lots about pies and also count backwards from 501, therefore he didn't think it was worth telling us about some other stuff because we're all too preoccupied with the contents of our nostrils anyway. Or something like that.
  18. I always liked this and other early TT, so I had to listen. If I had one crit the vocals sound a little robotic in places, but maybe that was deliberate? That and the missing backing vox was the only thing that stood out as "wrong" in an otherwise very decent straight cover. .
  19. Well that sucks. Furry little buggers do get right under your skin, don't they? If I may offer a positive.........at least you're now the best looking one in the house.?
