I've got a clipped bass note in a mastered track (nothing very dramatic) which one of these would get rid of it? it's not a square wave digital clip. ? -

China, go figure. used to be what happens in America (bad thing) happens over here (Europe) in 5 years now China has jumped to the front of the queue to usher in the things that are too much even for America (but they would like to do) 5 years later America, 5 years after normalised to Europe. go China. -
I predict a new version 7 will be coming out in the near future and now version 6 has become free, all previous owners will spend up on the new one, because you can't be using a daw in a pro studio that the plebs are using for free. Marketing 101.

"how was this DAW" Expensive.

that is a lot of money for a volume knob 😵

"Many people believe that passive controllers are inherently better than active ones simply because there are no electronics in the signal path to add noise or distortion, but the reality is more nuanced. Provided the connecting cables are kept reasonably short (a couple of metres or less), they usually work perfectly well, so at the budget end of the market, they can offer good value." try shorter , shielded cables. https://www.soundonsound.com/sound-advice/monitor-controllers

this is indeed very good, first time checking it out. very resonant sounding, nice to be able get a ropey old sampled break and turn it into a (half of one) real sounding drum set. 👍

just logged in to Cakewalk , and an orange box appeared "try the new free tier or our new discounted offer of $49 dollars" no free tier anywhere, just the subscription offer. why bother, it's just taking the customers for idiots. if you have a box that you ask people to press for something you advertise, have the thing you offer on the other bloody side of it.
-
That was the way to go, found a program that separated the drum break by transients,(like a traditional sampler) and it automatically converted it to midi. works like a charm, happy days. it's pretty tight on the conversion, some vsti's are a bit sloppy, lot of potential. 👍

you are indeed correct, after checking it is perpetual as long as you don't update past a certain version. -
an upside down version of what you want, might work if you reverse it? you might be able to use a sidechained gate effect also.

If it doesn't last forever it's not perpetual 😄 perpetual /pər-pĕch′oo͞-əl/ adjective Lasting forever; never-ending. although nothing really lasts forever, but I have a disk of Sonar 7 that I recently loaded onto a win xp machine, that is perpetual, If there was a nuclear war, all that would survive are cockroaches and software disks old Sonar programs. -

popular misconception is that the Reaper license is perpetual, it lasts for a certain amount of versions, but the free one that it would revert to is the exact same so you could use it, £60 every 2 or 3 years is something people are happy to pay.
