  1. @Larry Shelby Exactly!!!
  2. According to his profile he visited the forum last Sunday.
  3. I received the Focus Elements Bundle as a freebie from PIB. Is it worth installing?
  4. Now we know who has the fat wallets around here, LOL!
  5. Nice! I assume that you got the Pro Rack DAW? What did you provision yours with as far as CPU, RAM, and drives?
  6. "Everything" owners will get a free upgrade to SynthMaster 3!!! Whenever it is finally released. The developer claims that he is finally putting his full attention toward this!!! Definitely recommend the "Everything" bundle. I don't love every expansion pack, but there are so many good ones that make the bundle worth it. You even get all new expansions for free as they are released. My favorites preset banks for SynthMaster 2 are the ones in Nori Ubukata's "Historic Synth Giants" and "Dawn of Electronic Music" series, and Big Tone's "Analog Basics" and "Tableworks" series. Plus there are plenty of others in the Pop, EDM, and electronic genres. For SynthMaster One, there are now 14 banks, which are a bit more recent than the SynthMaster 2 banks, and lean toward the modern electronic styles, with the exception of Bluffmunkey's "Darkwave Sounds" and "Cinematic Sounds".
  7. Here's some good ones >>> Analog Retro 80's RnB sound https://presetshare.com/bundles/view?id=231
  8. Just buy Vital Pro Pack and you get all 400 factory presets and 150 wavetables. $80. ? The free version is probably sufficient if you plan to create your own presets and wavetables. https://vital.audio/#getvital

  10. The dev said "no" here. https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=585154
  11. I still have it in my cart, but plan to pull the trigger soon! The Repro 5 Pro Expansion. I normally don't buy a lot of preset banks, but based on the demo tracks in the video, this is a must have here! I also have the Repro bank from Luftrum, as well as the Repro Power Pack from PluginGuru. I think that Repro is an awesome synth, so this will be a nice addition.

    NI FM8 for $12

I have that CZ V, as well as the Virtual CZ, and an original CZ1000 (not still in the box). The printed manuals for CZ1000 and the patch book were all you needed to get started with a synth. Big fun, although I was disappointed that the hardware keyboard, 49 full size keys. was not velocity sensitive. So the soft synth versions now allow me to have that long missing feature! The Virtual CZ sounds just like the original, but I think that I like the UI from Arturia better. When I used to try to run my CZ1000 through my home stereo (couldn't afford studio monitors in the 80's), the low notes nearly ripped the 12" woofers out of the speaker cabinets. Those fat mono sine waves were nasty!!! ?
  13. There are now something like 80 free "Unified" preset banks for 3rd party synths. All you need to use them is to own the underlying 3rd party synth. Unify has a plug-in scanner like any plug-in host that can scan your plug-in paths, so that Unify keeps track of your "known plug-ins". There are a number of paid Unify add-ons besides DiscoverStation that only require Unify to run, such as Unichill, Cloud City, Renegade, UniLofi, Megamagic Guitars for Unify, etc. These are Guru Sampler based and do not require any additional underlying synths to function. Guru Sampler is included in Unify standard, as well as are a number of included factory MIDI and audio FX. In addition to the Unify-only add-ons, there are also some paid add-ons that require 3rd party synths, such as the Repro Power Pack, and FM8 Power Pack, etc. https://www.pluginguru.com/products/
  14. Unify is a great value by itself, out of the box!
  15. Correct. DiscoverStation is a preset pack for Unify. In this case, you also need at least the free BBCSO Discovery plugin installed as well.

    NI FM8 for $12

The CZ1000 was my first synth, mid-80's. ?
  17. DiscoverStation for Unify is on sale right now for $35.40. https://www.pluginguru.com/products/discoverstation-corestation-unify-bbcso/ His summer sales change week to week, so not sure how long this will be a deal. Normally $59.
  18. I agree that BBCSO would probably work much better with an SSD, at least for the load times. Spitfire appears to load all samples into RAM. @Yan FiliatraultI have BBCSO Core and tried loading a full orchestra template into Studio One. 16 GB RAM choked on that. ?
  19. Not sure that anyone will ever get used to it! Live with it, maybe! Let's let that be the last time we reference his name in this thread. The moderators might lock it down! ?
  20. That's how I knew about it, and your feedback with suggestions. It has improved a lot since I last used it. I thought it might be nice to put it out there on the "Deals" forum during Larry's vacation for those with fat wallets. ?
  21. It's not Larry, but here is a web robot that can help lighten your wallet! https://musicsoftwaredeals.com/?price_from=0&price_to=9999&sale_only=true *Check the box at the top "Only show products on sale". That is apparently not embedded correctly in the link. If you wish to go broke $29 at a time, you can set the top of the $$ range to $29.99. There are a lot of plugins on sale in that range, or less. Examples include: Various instruments from AIR, Cherry Audio, KV331, NI, Waves, etc. Tracktion f.'em $29 Eventide FX $29 Kilohearts Faturator, Disperser $29 Nomad Factory Blue Tube Effects Pack $29 iZotope R4 $20 iZotope Elements Suite $20 Sound packs for AAS $19, $17.08, & $15.74 NI FM8 $10 iZotope Breaktweaker Expanded $10 Neutron 3 Elements $10 8DIO Bottles $0.80
  22. The show was recorded in 2007. So 15 year old technology.
  23. Obviously there are some compromises when capturing and mixing a live performance vs. a studio production.
