  1. That's pretty much the way I did it, except that I didn't put the VST2 sub-folders down in the "Common Files". I left them as sub-folders a level higher up in the "Program Files".
  2. I assume you are referring to the Windows XP days, before Sonar was published as a native 64-bit application (I can't remember the version that changed that...)
  3. I believe CbB requires the 64-bit version of TTS-1 (included), as it is not a VST (it's a DXi plugin). CbB will ignore a 32-bit DXi, even if present on the system. But as far as VST plugins are concerned, Cakewalk will use its proprietary BitBridge to include 32-bit VST plugins.
  4. As we used to say, "if it ain't broke, then don't fix it!". But then again, it always made me uneasy whenever something "magically" fixed itself...
  5. The Sonar installers com with both flavors included, and they ask if you want the 32-bit or 64-bit version at the beginning. You can use your old download installer files, or access them again at your old Cakewalk account at https://www.cakewalk.com/My-Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2fMy-Account If your product had shipped on DVD (prior to the Sonar X1-X3 series) instead of download, you can use that.
  6. CbB is 64-bit only, and comes with a 64-bit DXi (Direct X) plugin version of TTS-1. You mentioned earlier that you had 32-bit Sonar programs installed. What do you have? (Edit: CbB will run 32-bit (VST, not DX) plugins with the included bit bridge)
  7. Since Philharmonik 2 and SampleTank 3 use essentially the same interface, just with a different "skin", the video instructions should apply to both.
  8. If you open the plugins view in the Cakewalk browser, it should tell you if the plugin is 32-bit, or DX, as is the case of TTS-1. Click once on the instrument or FX in the browser, and then look at the info bar at the bottom of the browser pane for details. I would install the 64-bit version of Sonar to get the Sonar plugins in the 64-bit version, and avoid 32-bit whenever possible. Pops and glitches can be due to various causes, but typically they have to do with your audio driver settings, such as too low audio buffers. Try raising them until the pops go away.
  9. I seem to recall issues for some regarding stability for SampleTank 3 in the VST2 vs. VST3 plugin versions. If you are using that, try switching to the VST2.
  10. I have always used the top menu "Insert > Soft Synth" dropdown, or just dragging an instrument from the browser into the track pane, to insert an instrument track, and I don't believe I have ever seen TTS-1 crash. It's not my go-to instrument by any means, but I have opened it enough that I would take notice if there were any issues on my system.
  11. In other words, most sample libraries are usually locked to the sample player VST by the company that developed it. It is simply copy protection for their property. At the moment, I believe NI Kontakt is the most widely used format, with considerable 3rd party support (both paid and free). But the sample libraries themselves are locked to Kontakt. So if I was going to pick just one, that would be it.
  12. I recall hearing that before the Gibson/Cakewalk shutdown, that the developer of Overture (Sonic Scores) https://sonicscores.com/ proposed to integrate a basic version of Overture into Sonar, but that it never got approved. That is an opportunity lost...
  13. The main things that I don't care for is that this library is locked into Presence XT, which is itself locked into Studio One. Which may not present a problem if that is all you intend to work with...
  14. Looks like you would also need to have a license for an older version of S1 Pro in order to use the upgrade.

    CbB Updated

The last 2 updates with BA worked fine for me.
  16. You can still get a license for the Blue Tubes at : https://store.dontcrack.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=blue+tubes&x=0&y=0 or at: https://go.nomadfactory.com/store/ 64-bits upgrade in the application would fix the memory limitations. I believe that's a result of 32-bit applications being limited to 2GB memory space, even though a 32-bit Windows OS can use ~3.4GB, and 64-bit Windows OS much more. So when you start loading up samplers you are going to exceed 2GB easily... with synths, not so much...
  17. Glad you got it working! Just speculating here: I am left wondering if this was a scanning glitch, or a versioning issue that somehow left a Cakewalk project "blind" to the plugin? I think it would be good for us all to better understand plugin versioning, and it's interaction with saved Cakewalk projects.
  18. And the last time the file on my PC was modified was in 2017, so I assume that it pre-dates BandLab, and came bundled with Sonar Platinum. I seem to recall that Overloud made some unlock codes available for a limited time to existing Sonar users so they could continue using their bundled plugins elsewhere after Gibson pulled out. So I guess that I never tried the BandLab version of TH3.
  19. I just loaded up an instance of TH3, and got this prompt to update. I clicked on "Not now". Apparently I am still running v3.4.5 and it works.
  20. I have UVI Digital Synsations, so UVI is a must... It's a good complement to IK Syntronik. Analog + Digital: FTW
  21. Here's an image of the original TTS-1 GUI. As a minor correction to what I stated earlier, you can see that it said "TTS-1 POWERED BY ROLAND" over on the left. It actually already said Cakewalk over on the right. They trimmed the phrase "POWERED BY ROLAND".
  22. It seems to me that tracks for markers, arrangement, and tempo could all be worked on together, as they do affect the project timeline. Now that we have slip editing, it's time to step up the game!
  23. I'm fairly sure that the 3-13-2018 version 1.02 is the latest. That's the one I have. And the date coincides with the BandLab re-branding of TTS-1 from Roland to Cakewalk in the GUI. It used to be named Roland TTS-1, before BandLab acquired the properties from Gibson But I don't believe any functional changes were made, only cosmetic.
