  1. It will be interesting to hear what they find!
  2. Waves IR-1 v12 appears to be missing the enhanced browser, but the UI resizing feature works. I opened a support ticket with Waves. Will see how that goes... The otherV12 plug-ins that I have tested all seem to work fine.
  3. Yes, I have high regard for U-He! I've tried the demos of Repro, Diva, and Zebra. I think that Repro is highest on my wish list, as that is a sweet sounding synth! Did you know that Luftrum has a sound set for Repro? Check out the demo tracks here: https://www.luftrum.com/luftrum19/ I have the Luftrum presets for Iris 2 and Pigments 2. He does some excellent work! He has also done a number of them for Omnisphere, Diva, and Zebra, as well as others...
  4. I think that they put out Syntronik Deluxe instead... https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/syntronikdeluxe/
  5. Then you will probably enjoy this article: Waves V12 Adds Resizable GUIs… & With The Update Price Comes The Nasty Surprise https://www.synthanatomy.com/2020/10/waves-v12-adds-resizable-guis-with-the-update-price-comes-the-nasty-surprise.html
  6. Hooray louder! ? Free is good... and no WUP required to get v12.
  7. Intel Fan Heatsink Assembly Air 1151 Cooling BXTS15A https://www.newegg.com/intel-bxts15a/p/N82E16835203026 Note: this fan can get noisy when running a heavy CPU load. The motherboard varies the fan RPM according to the processor temperature. But under normal use, it remains mostly quiet. At idle it's nearly silent. I have to intentionally run a stress test to get all 6 cores in my processor to 100% usage for the fan to reach full speed. My normal workload never reaches that level, so for my purposes this cooler is fine. Stress test: https://www.mersenne.org/download/ Note: This cooler attaches from the top of the CPU socket with 4 push pins. Easy! Most aftermarket coolers require a bracket to be attached to the underside of the motherboard. This type is best to be installed when you first assemble the computer, because if you decide to add one later you would need to remove the motherboard from the case.
  8. The best way to find out is to look in the left hand column of ST4 at the library list. If there is no icon overlay on the library name, you already have the library installed. If there is a download icon overlay, then you have it it your products, but still need to download and install it. If there is a shopping cart icon overlay, then you still need to buy that particular library. As far as I know, and from what Peter has stated, is that you will never get any new expansions added to any MAX product after the release. It has apparently been that way forever. So new ST4 expansions are not included in MAX. I have seen complaints about this regarding Total Studio MAX.
  9. The various ST4 versions were all released together. The "All New" samples meant the original ST4 samples at release. The lower you went in the tiers, the less of them that you got, with MAX receiving all. There have been some new samples for MAX that IK gave away since release. I believe that they were free extras such as Cuban Trumpets and Pedal Steel Guitars. New SampleTank 4 instrument expansions like Clavitubes and Alternate Keys were never included in any ST4 version, as far as I know. But all of the ST3 instrument expansions are included, like Alan Parsons Imperial Grand, Brandenburg Piano, ArtDeco Piano, The Drums series, Cinematic Percussion, Orchestral Percussion, etc.
  10. You are correct. Each level builds on the previous one. MAX gets it all!
  11. Imagines a MODO Syntronik with real oscillators (rather than samples) ... ?
  12. The SampleTank 4 engine is the same for both, but the instrument collections available are based on the edition you purchased. Comparison here: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/include/st4/soundlist/SampleTank_4_comparison.pdf

  14. 1. Synthesizers and samplers: Too many to list all, but my favorites are AIR Music Loom 2, Amadeus Symphonic Orchestra for Kontakt 6 Player, Applied Acoustics Chromaphone 2, Arturia Analog Lab, Arturia Pigments, Cakewalk Rapture, IK Multimedia Hammond B3X, MODO Bass, Philharmonik 2 and SampleTank 4 MAX, iZotope Iris 2, KV331 Audio SynthMaster 2 and SynthMaster One, Seaweed Audio Fathom Pro, Tracktion Biotek 2, Waves Element 2 and Flow Motion, XLN Audio Addictive Drums 2 and Addictive Keys Grand Piano. I heard Bach played on a Moog synth in 1975 and was immediately hooked! I'm an amateur who bought his first synthesizer in 1984, and then proceeded as a hobby to focus on sound design with mostly electronic and ambient music, with environmental and cinematic soundscapes in mind (I like Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Jarre, Vangelis, Hans Zimmer, etc.). I enjoy layering sounds from different instruments to get interesting results. But I do also enjoy traditional acoustic and orchestral music, as well as rock, folk, blues, jazz, funk, country, etc. All good music is welcome! Band in a Box can expand your musical horizons! 2. Intel processors marked "K" (unlocked clock ratio) do not ship with a factory cooling fan. Must purchase cooler separately, and a stock Intel unit is available. The consumer market for "K' processors typically will install custom aftermarket cooling, such as liquid, etc. for overclocking. 3. I did. It is 2x (one front and one rear) intake in front, and exhaust in rear, for case cross ventilation. 4. Not much fan noise as the system functions near idle most of the time. Playing a single piano barely registers on the CPU meter. 5. 600 watt PSU for growth and max efficiency. I wanted the option to add a dedicated GPU later. Plus keeping the load at 50% will let it run cooler and should help to extend the PSU life, have a quieter fan, so best to have near 2x what your expected continuous load is. For example 300 watt load --> 600 watt PSU. Besides this one was only $11 more than the same product with 500 watts. See the article "How to choose a power supply" https://www.newegg.com/insider/how-to-choose-a-pc-power-supply-buying-guide/ Power supply calculator here: https://www.newegg.com/tools/power-supply-calculator/?cm_sp=NeweggInsider-_-BuyingGuides-_-ChoosePSU 6. HWiNFO64 (free) has temp/voltage/fans sensors view: https://www.hwinfo.com/ 7: I use two physical Samsung SATA SSD drives "C: " EVO 860 500GB (OS/Programs) and "D:" QVO 860 1TB (Projects, content, and samples), and one internal WD SATA HDD 7200RPM with 2 logical disks (for archives), plus a couple of WD Elements portable USB 3 drives for image backups. You can add drives as you see the need, but I would start with 1 SSD for "C:" system drive, and a second drive "D:", either HDD or SSD, for projects, and then an external USB 3 drive for image backups.
  15. Well then I would focus on fixing it in the Kontakt standalone version. Then it should work fine as a plug-in for Cakewalk. As you stated earlier, "It is the same when using Kontact in standalone mode", which would indicate that this sound is not Cakewalk related. Have you opened a support ticket with NI yet? Since they are the publisher of both Kontakt and the Studio Drummer, they should be able to sort it out.
  16. It matters very little to me. I'm not buying anything else from IK this year anyway... ???
  17. The other 12 Waves plugins that I bought this year during their sales were already covered, so scored a free upgrade to v12 for them! No WUP needed there! ?
  18. Waves price for me to WUP my individual 7 plugins, plus the H-Series bundle was $129. EveryPlugin made me a better offer!
  19. If I recall correctly, the REmatrix Solo bank can be opened in the REmatrix player. Edit: Found it! From 12/2017 email from Overloud following the Gibson/Cakewalk shutdown: "Please note that REmatrix Solo (ProChannel) has become a REmatrix library. You can use it with the REmatrix Player (free in all plugin formats)." https://www.overloud.com/node/180 The REmatrix SOLO library can be found here: https://www.overloud.com/installation-rematrix-lib.php?p=2210
  20. If you get this sound problem in Kontakt standalone, then you have already narrowed it down to Kontakt and the instrument, and not Cakewalk. If Cakewalk can play Addictive Drums 2 without any issue, then it is not likely to be either a Cakewalk or a computer audio issue. When I played the audio sample you provided, it sounded like a distorted reverb to me. Did you try turning off all FX in the instrument?
  21. I'm guessing that detailed settings panel was supplied by the host DAW he was running, and not by Kontakt itself... In this case the top bar of the plugin shot in the video appears to be FL Studio.
