    AIR Hybrid 3

Not at all, when the offer in the OP is for Hybrid 3 at $3.99. Why bother with a $29.99 upgrade?

    AIR Hybrid 3

Not a ROMpler. It's a bargain synth. ? Six-oscillator subtractive and wavetable virtual synthesizer with 1200+ inspiring presets Some popular examples of software romplers are reFX Nexus and IK Multimedia Sampletank. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rompler

    JRR Shop

Currently, my recent orders in my account at JRRshop go back over 3 years to when I first registered at the site in April 2017. So all good there. But it still looks like the same old website, not the new one Uncle E has been promising for a while now...
  4. A few days ago when this crashed this was a new project, with a single instance of SampleTank 4 with a solo piano, running dry with no internal effects. Crashed it 3 times, same error... The only things I had added were Scheps Omni Channel VST3 as insert to the track FX to pretty it up, and also added a reverb send to a reverb bus to give it some "air". Was trying to freeze the instrument track with this "mix" to get an audio mixdown track to then play around with some mastering. Cakewalk crashed the first time I did this right near the end of the mixdown. But cannot repro now... Maybe deleting and reinstating the plugin blew the dust out? I Dunno... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to AppCrashView the error was: Application Name: Cakewalk.exe Application Version: 26.9.0.6 Fault Module Name: Cakewalk.exe Fault Module Version: 26.9.0.6 Exception Code: c0000005 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  5. I had a Cakewalk crash when freezing an instrument track with Waves Scheps Omni Channel in the instrument FX bin. It's V12, but I don't know if it's a v12 thing because I never tried doing that before with an earlier version. What I am sure it that it's definitely this plugin. Disabled and freezing OK. Enabled it crashed again, same error. Edit: Never mind, just tried again with A/B for VST2 vs. VST3 and all is working now.
  6. Note that 'Free Reed' is a type of instrument design, and not free, as in beer. These instruments are for sale. But they do have a free demo. LOL, I think scook and I were typing about the same time. He beat me. You gotta be fast to beat scook! ?
  7. Just in case you were wondering, there's a few clarinets and bass clarinets in the 'Pop Brass and Woods' category in the AIR Structure 2 sampler (included in the AIR Instrument Expansion): And in the 'World' category, accordions and more (never know when you might need a vuvuzela, a didjeridu, or a jaw harp:
  8. Check out this video on mastering in Cakewalk. This guy has a good series on YouTube for Cakewalk techniques.
  9. That was very nice of Cakewalk to include that AD2 drum map! The track template available in those instructions is very useful as well. Just insert the AD2 soft synth track template in any project and you are good to go with some AD2 drums!
  10. Not much. Mostly demos... I got the full version with Total Studio Max2. T-RackS CS:
  11. Reaper is $225 for a commercial use license. $60 is for personal only.
  12. No it's not free. Only free to evaluate for 60 days...
  13. Reaper is free to use for 60 days, then $60. But I cannot stand the Reaper UI and the user experience. It has some great tech under the hood that I like, but I'm not interesting in building a DAW (i.e. the endless customization that can be performed to the UI to hack into something pleasant to work with).
  14. Most DAWs are not comparable to Ableton Live in that regard. Hence the name "Live". Maybe Bitwig, but haven't tried that. I would head over to the Reaper forum for more info on that program. They have an active user community.
  15. Yes, Cakewalk is a full featured DAW with many features of a traditional recording studio (emphasis on studio), and is basically the updated version of Sonar Platinum that used to sell for hundreds of dollars. You can do professional recording, arranging, and mixing all within Cakewalk. But if by productions you mean that you want to do productions for live performances and DJ stuff, you would probably be happier with something like Ableton Live, because of its unique session view for loops, uninterruptible audio engine, and the live sampling capability. Cakewalk and most other traditional linear DAWs don't excel in that type of thing.
  16. Personally, I prefer Studio One Pro overall these days. Bought the crossgrade when Sonar went "dark". Still a learning curve from Sonar. But as a Cakewalk user of over 20 years, there are still times that I open CbB first if I need to do something quick. Muscle memory I guess! ?

  18. I recently acquired T-Racks 5 and haven't had a chance to explore all of the modules yet. But thanks for the tip! I just looked and the TR5 Metering looks like a great tool! I will try it out!
  19. Maybe a control surface or controller with transport controls would be a workaround for this issue?
  20. As far as I know, the Realtek is decent at audio output. I use it on my laptop to play streaming music as well as some of my VSTi collection. But I would never consider trying to record audio input on it. I would use my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for that. That is primarily used on my desktop, but since it is small and USB bus powered, it is quite portable.
  21. Download them both and try them for free. Decide for yourself! You will only get personal opinions about what is best for others with a question like that. There is no "best" DAW, only the best for you.
  22. Glad you found it useful, but hate that you had to spend 15 bucks. It's a handy grab and go ROMpler with a small footprint. I think the sample file is only 1.5GB, so it reminds me of the old days when Roland packed all of their sounds into a few MB of sample ROM waveforms. AIR Music Tech was bought out by inMusic Brands and they've been selling it for cheap ever since. They were practically giving Xpand!2 away a few years ago to promote the purchase of the upgrade to the full AIR collection from any single AIR product. The bundle is a bit old now, and hasn't been updated in years. But there are some good values in the bundle for someone who is not interested in buying only current high end instruments. It includes the AIR Structure 2 sampler with a 37GB sample library (the sample format is locked to the instrument). The complete instrument bundle upgrade is still available for $74.99, and you now qualify with Xpand!2! https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/58-Inst-Bundle/2294-AIR-Instrument-Expansion-Pack-3-COMPLETE-UPGRADE- AIR Instrument Expansion Pack 3 COMPLETE UPGRADE Inst Bundle by AIR Music Technology "NOTE: This is an upgrade for users who own previous versions of the AIR Instrument Expansion Pack, the AIR Instrument Expansion Pack SELECT or a single AIR Music Technology instrument (including Xpand!2 & Hybrid3). For more information and to download a demo trial, simply click the product's user interface/image."
