  1. And don't forget to check if you have any tokens accumulated at Plugin Boutique! They covert to Virtual Cash at £1.25 each! I just found 6 of them in my account! ?
  2. I don't know what Sonivox may have done to the recent installers, but the version of Vocalizer installer that I downloaded from Plugin Boutique in 2016 has no iLok installer inside. The install instructions at the time were very clear the you first need to register an iLok account, install the iLok license manager on your computer, and then authorize your product before installing it. I have the Sonivox Premier Collection and all installers were from 2016-2017. They never displayed any of the troubling iLok behavior in the recent reports. The Air Music products were also using the same method, and my most recent installer from them was for Loom II. That file was created over 3 years ago, and no trouble with it either. All of my Air installers were created in 2016-2017. I mention both Air Music and Sonivox here because they are run by the same company, inMusic Brands. Now I'm glad that I have them archived.
  3. For an example, Studio One has several independent global tracks in their track view design. The arranger track, chords track, signature track, and the tempo track. . The time signature changes and the key signature changes do occur on a common track, but that doesn't appear to conflict. Those functions appear to be logically separate.
  4. Here is the full YouTube playlist for Scaler from Plugin Boutique, which provides a good feature overview. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFWyKYiiiIjAyooer13GbqA But I think I will still pick up the Producer's Guide because it goes over several workflow scenarios which I think would be useful, plus gets into some practical hands on use. Things such as chords and accompaniment, basslines, to creating a full arrangement.
  5. Great tip on the video course! I got Scaler 2 recently, and I believe I will need a proper orientation. The current v2.2 has got so many features, it's hard to tell where to start! ?
  6. Which "one"??? LOL!!! Best bang, probably the Syntronik crossgrade for $79.99 that got me into the IK Group Buy at the $199 level! Ended up with MODO Bass, MODO Drums, and the Hammond B-3! 2nd best bang was probably the IK Total Studio 2 MAX Maxgrade for $139. Maxed out my T-RackS 5 and Amplitube 4 collection! Most fun? Not sure where to start! But I'll be staying busy for the foreseeable future! ? Added (all at sale prices, 20-50% off) EZKeys, EZDrummer, Chromaphone 3, Ultra-Analog VA-3, Pigments 2, Scaler 2, Analog Lab, IK Mixbox, IK Sunset Studio Reverb, Eventide Shimmerverb, Waves IR1 reverb, upgraded to Waves Abbey Road Studio collection, upgraded to Band in a box 2021 Ultrapak, upgraded to Studio One 5 Pro... Favorite free? Probably Arturia Analog Lab 5 (for AL4 users) and IK Amplitube 5 CS (with my AT4 Max collection). Favorite hardware? My new Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen. And a full hardware refresh for my PC! 9th Gen Intel Core i5 9600k, running at 4.6GHz. Thanks, 2020! ? It's really amazing how much money you can save when the bars and restaurants in your area are in lockdown for over 9 months! New Years Resolution: Not buying anything else until I learn to use everything I already have! ?
  7. Wait, what? Surge was the new kid on the block back in the day, but... Not the same guy! ? The guy that created Serum: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Duda The guy that created Surge: https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/about/
  8. See my post earlier in this thread for a link to the free e-book "How to Make a Noise - a comprehensive guide to synthesizer programming" that covers many aspects of programming synth sounds. The author uses the original version of Surge from Vember Audio, along with 5 other synths, including Cakewalk z3ta+ classic (many thoughts here should also apply to Z3TA+2). Gives examples and comparisons of synth features, covering topics such as envelopes, filtering, sound sources, wave shaping, LFOs, and modulations. Hard to believe that Surge was a $150 synth back in the day (2005 - 2007)! Now free! Even z3ta+ classic was $99.
  9. Working for me: Windows version 2004 OS build 19041.630 Resolution 1920 x 1200 Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen ASIO 48k buffer 256
  10. Got it in the last hour! Installed and authorized. Very nice!
  11. I wasn't even aware that there was a "Lite" version. I've got the full Lab. What's included in that as far as sounds? If it includes their acoustic and electric pianos, they aren't bad! And the B-3 is decent. ? Everyone knows that Arturia covers synths very well, but I was a bit surprised at the quality of those keys...
  12. So sadly, no Christmas music at Sunset Sound this year... ?
  13. Might be a while. Don't have the Pi yet. And the biggest obstacle would probably be obtaining a decent audio interface for that. Pi runs on Linux. But with a touchscreen, you might have a very portable little rig...
  14. How long does Best Service typically take to update your account with an IK Multimedia serial? Placed an order for T-RackS Sunset Sound about 2 hours ago. Still nada for serial... "Sorry, currently not available". By comparison my PreSonus order yesterday at Best Service was completed instantly!
  15. Have been a Waveform user since v8, and am up to date with v11. But I'm not an Apple fanboi. ? Instead, I might be willing to try their build on the Ras Pi. Just for grins! ?
  16. Tracktion is an interesting creative tool. Designed for musicians, rather than engineers.
  17. Got it for $76.03 with the code and a bit of BestCoin! So with my bank giving me 5% back on the purchase, it's actually $72.23 out of pocket. Plus, I got another free Hall of Fame reverb... ?
  18. I got most of the presets from V Collection 7 included in Analog Lab 4, with the exception of the few new synths that were just introduced in VC 7. I'm showing 7,496 factory presets in AL 4. Those presets were also included in Analog Lab V because of my license for AL4, plus the 2,397 new presets in the new AL V factory bank. I don't have any of the full Arturia instruments yet, except for Pigments 2. So I think what changed in AL V is that you don't get the full preset collection anymore, unless you own the previous version of AL, or the V collection.
  19. The Hammond B-3 is the bees knees! But grabbed that during the IK group buy. But that $20 voucher at Best is still callling... Maybe the IK T-RackS Sunset Sound Studio Reverb for $79?
  20. @ChuffeyWelcome to Cakewalk! Be sure to watch all of Mike's videos! He's very informative and entertaining! Plus it beats reading the Cakewalk manual at 1800+ pages, LOL! ?
