I noticed that Glenn's track was slowed down a bit. Did think the original MIDI tempo was a bit fast and considered doing that. He nailed the combo organ!

I'll probably not bother to update my XLN stuff anymore, until they add something I really need.

Here is a new attempt, done with the TTS-1 instruments using the original GM file without edits. In all fairness to TTS-1, I thought I should give it an even shot with my last attempt where the TTS-1 instruments were substituted. Used separate audio outputs from TTS-1 for the guitar, bass, and organ, and put 3rd party FX on them. Guitar: Amplitube 5 > Fender 2 - Clean and solo [4x10 '65 Super Reverb]. Bass: Amplitube 5 > Bassman Round 1 [Fender Bassman 300], Organ: IK MixBox [Rotary]. Used a console plugin on the master bus to level it up. IK Lurssen Mastering Console. Believer TTS-1 + FX.mp3

I have received 2 emails from Waves about this plugin. The latest with my exclusive, " special offer" for users of Abbey Road Studio 3. Might have to take a look see. Still $29.99.

Suggest that the producer of this video change the title. "Cakewalk Needs All DAWs need to be improved: Part 1 - Suggestions for Cakewalk".

I've already got the Waves Abbey Road tape and vinyl machines for artistry and character. Do I need to upgrade to cassette? -

Just got the email. Is it worth downloading? Just for the record, I hated cassettes. Worse than MP3's... ? -
Looking for Electric Guitar Solo Samples
abacab replied to razor7music's topic in Instruments & Effects
I would agree with that plug for BIAB. Plug in the chords, choose a style, and generate from RealTracks. Since a solo generally follows a scale, a pre-recorded solo loop would be fairly limited in use, unless it came recorded in every key (not counting whether you would plan to transpose/pitch shift the audio somehow to match the other tracks). -
Dimension Pro, Rapture and Z3TA+ installers needed
abacab replied to Aksel Holand's topic in Instruments & Effects
@Aksel HolandI caught that you were looking for OSX installers. I'm not aware of which instruments were available for the OSX, but the info below is what I know about the Windows versions. Z3TA+2 and Rapture Pro may have been released for OSX, as they were the last two stand-alone instruments being supported when Cakewalk was shutdown. As far as I recall, the z3ta+ was always bundled with the Sonar installer, and Z3TA+2 was always sold separately. Rapture (classic) was bundled with X2, X3, and Platinum as a separate installer. Dim Pro was bundled with Sonar 8 thru Platinum as a separate installer. If you migrated your old Cakewalk account to the single sign-on account between 2014 and 2017, support should be able to loop you back into your account. If you missed that window, I don't think there is anything support can do. BandLab support has access to the more recent Cakewalk.com accounts. You would still need the original product serial numbers and registration codes, even if you were able to obtain the installers. -

Here is the thread view for just the main Cakewalk process on my PC. You will see a thread for each plugin. Each thread has a stack view that can be accessed by selecting the thread, then clicking the "stack" button. -

If you're up for some deeper diving, and want to take a look at the threads, handles, DLLs, stacks, etc. involved with Cakewalk or any other executing program, check out Process Explorer by Microsoft Sysinternals. Maybe a clue to a misbehaving process lurking somewhere? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer -

abacab replied to ChristopherM's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
You were using CbB 2020.09 when this first occurred. The error experienced by DimPro, "Exception code: 0xc0000005" is a memory access violation, one of the most common errors on Windows. Dimension Pro is no longer sold or supported. It was replaced by Cakewalk under Gibson with Rapture Pro in 2015. Support for both definitely ended when Gibson shut Cakewalk down in 2017. There is no guarantee that plugins that have reached end-of-life will be supported on any current DAWs. That's probably the reason your attempts at getting support for it are reaching silence. I'm sorry to hear of the troubles, because I like DimPro too. Fortunately it hasn't crashed on me yet. -
AAS "version 3" products unusable; AAS support unresponsive???
abacab replied to ChristopherM's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Nope. Stated in my previous post that I was running 2020.11. Always stay one version behind the curve. No change with memory in use or commit charge with Swatches in Player or Chromaphone 3. The latest hotfix was released for 2021.01. -
Gotcha! Amadeus is a very good value. And it's even fun to just open the full orchestra patch and play it with your keyboard. A full orchestra layered under your fingers! I also have Overture 5, and this library was created to provide an upgrade from the General MIDI factory sounds it contains. If you open a new score using an Amadeus template, it loads all of the instruments from Amadeus with Kontakt plugins running in the background. No Kontakt UI at startup unless you wish to open it. If you open the Overture 5 template for a "Full Orchestra" you get a score preloaded with 21 Amadeus instruments. Now that's intimidating for me...a blank score with that many empty staves! ?

But you can't buy them for $99 either. Some folks only need a library for sketching ideas, not for a final production. So a quality, inexpensive library with a light footprint is sometimes all you need. Hobbyists and amateurs often don't need to, or can't afford to, spend money on "the better libraries" to make music.

I have only very humble needs in the orchestral library arena. I'm a noob in that respect, just getting my feet wet. For example the built-in PreSonus Notion 6 instruments are mostly good enough for what I need, but they are locked into Notion. So if you use them in Notion and then move your song MIDI from there to a DAW for example, you lose your sounds (and yes I'm aware of Rewire, but don't like it). My efforts to find a one-stop solution to that ended up with why I am using Kontakt Player. Notion allows you to add 3rd party libraries via VST, so if you assign those in instruments in Notion and then send the project over to Studio One 5, you will have the same plugin sounds all set up automatically in S1 using the same library. The library I'm using for that is a budget sized one called Amadeus Symphonic Orchestra, produced by the Sonic Scores - Overture developer in partnership with Indiginus. The library runs in Kontakt Player and is $99 for Overture customers, otherwise $149. I got it for $99. https://indiginus.com/amadeus.html https://sonicscores.com/amadeus/

I tried your test with that patch in Chromaphone 3 in CbB, and the memory never changed during the loop.
