  1. Love that Chromaphone 3! And maybe it's time to check out Unify again. Tried the demo last year.
  2. He added an index to the video on YouTube, so you can link jump directly to specific parts.
  3. Why? It is meant to integrate with Notion, which has more comprehensive scoring features. But with SO5 on it's own, it's really just an alternative view to the piano roll. Like in Cakewalk.
  4. We need an "AA" for game hoarders...
  5. Says the one that went "Beyond", and then returned...
  6. Bulent is working on SM 3.0 now. He had to finish up 2.9.9 first, which merged some code from One that he needed for 3.0.
  7. Perhaps you should be using separate machines for your DAW and development environment?
  8. If I believed everything that I read on KVR... well nevermind... ?
  9. Yes to what antler said! This applies to both SM One and SM 2.9. The "Everything Bundle" includes all expansion banks.
  10. For those that have been seeking a reasonably priced higher end GPU for their DAWs... https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/hardware/upcoming-nvidia-rtx-3060-purposely-cripples-mining-performance/ NVIDIA is purposely crippling the Ethereum mining power of their upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 GPU by 50% to increase inventory for gamers. Today, NVIDIA announced the upcoming launch of the GeForce RTX 3060 on February 25th for $329, and has made a drastic step to make sure miners do not steal all of the released inventory. Instead of allowing the GPU to be used for any purpose, the RTX 3060 drivers will purposely reduce performance by 50% when it detects the card used for Ethereum cryptocurrency mining. "With the launch of GeForce RTX 3060 on Feb. 25, we’re taking an important step to help ensure GeForce GPUs end up in the hands of gamers."
  11. That thing is amazing! I don't know what sort or magic sauce they poured into it, but so far everything I've run through it sounds better! Well worth waiting for a sale! It's basically a preset machine that you can tweak a bit, but that's useful for those of us without pro mastering skills. Provides a starting point and signal chain for respective genres. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/lurssen/ What Gavin Lurssen has to say...
  12. I got about $1,000 of IK software for around $300 last year. Don't understand what ya'll are whining about... ?
  13. They are not arrogant from using Linux. They most likely appear arrogant because they learned how to read manuals and search the net for knowledge, and problem solve. Although they may show some impatience for those that expect everything to be handed to them in perfect form.
  14. That release is a couple of years old. Have you tried the latest update? ?
  15. This deal currently works out as about $14.64 each. GBP/USD exchange rates fluctuate...
  16. I mostly agree. I once spent a weekend out of curiosity trying to get a DAW to work in Linux. And I had been using Linux for over 10 years for other things, so I wasn't a Linux newbie in general. Then later after that effort I realized that I already had a good Windows box that ran all of the DAW software & virtual instruments very well. And that I I had already paid for. So decided right then life was to short to migrate platforms. But I do understand why some choose to toss Microsoft out. For freedom from Windows 10 and forced updates for one. And I really respect the developers that are totally going the full cross-platform route: OS X, Windows, and Linux. Like the Tracktion devs. You can even run their stuff on a Raspberry Pi system on a chip. Obviously not going to run a full production studio on that, but it's fine for experimental creativity!
  17. Ubuntu! I used to have a dedicated machine loaded with that, for other computing purposes. But I haven't attempted Linux audio in at least 6 years... so it might be worth another look since Tracktion has done so much DAW development for that platform, including their instruments.
  18. ProAudioStar is reliable. I bought an IK Multimedia Syntronik Cross Grade there.
  19. That should do it. The specs look great! But one thing to be aware of with that PC, it's using a small form factor motherboard, so there won't be a lot of future proofing as far as upgrades in the case go. And the full sized RTX2080 will be taking up most of the PCIe room inside. But that's probably not going to be an issue, as it has high enough specs that it should have a good usable lifetime, as is. So just a couple of observations... The 16GB RAM is on a singe stick, so it's not dual channel, unless you add RAM. That cuts the memory bandwidth in half. The 2TB hard drive is a spinner, so unless you load all the games on the 500GB SSD, they might load slowly.
  20. I think my comment about BIAB was mostly tongue-in-cheek... just riffing on the idea of constructing songs from prefab elements. Is it OK to call the results "your" music? Disclaimer: I have BIAB and like it. I consider it an educational tool and practice aid, but don't really expect it to write my next hit song. But I might get lucky!
  21. But back to the original question. BandLab bought the Cakewalk software from Gibson back in 2018 in to order to have a fully fledged desktop DAW for their portfolio. It was my understanding that the reasoning was to have a path for BandLab online users to "graduate" to a desktop DAW.
