  1. The MIDI Pattern Generators are included in Waveform Free (based current Waveform 11). https://www.tracktion.com/products/waveform-free Compare features in the Waveform versions (Free/OEM/Pro): https://www.tracktion.com/products/waveform-compare-versions
  2. If you want some quick, instant gratification, try Tracktion Waveform. A cool Pattern Generator is integrated with the chord track that can generate tracks for arpeggio, chords, bassline, and melody, with styles and presets for each. It also offers suggestions for progressions to next chord based on popular progressions.
  3. It's apparently iLok based. If you already have an iLok account set up with other plugins, this should be a breeze! But if you are allergic to iLok, maybe best to avoid this?
  4. I don't think Scaler 2 forces you to learn theory. On the contrary, it is more like an AI that allows you to apply music theory that you do not yet understand, i.e., it keeps you in the lanes of what sounds good. Scaler 2 keeps evolving, and keeps getting better! Good music is based on timeless, universal rules of melody, harmony, and rhythm. Music theory is just a collection of those rules. Random generative stuff may be fun, and produce somewhat interesting tracks, but you are unlikely to score a hit using that method.
  5. Delete the junk, and keep your inspirational sound pallete right in from of you. At least that is the goal that I'm slowly attempting to achieve. Too many synths and sound libraries get in the way of productivity!
  6. You cannot sell for 90 days. They are locked down.
  7. Plus don't forget to explore the included Syntronik factory multi presets, with some cool splits and layers already setup! Be sure to check out this multi under the "Pad" category: "Moving Pad + Brassy Lead Split". Nice pad for the bass, with a screaming lead on top! ?
  8. Not sure why anyone would bother to pirate Fathom, since the mono version was always a freebie...???
  9. Sorry about this ya'll, but just had to... ??? And for those of you that would now like 3:10 minutes of your life back... well ... ?
  10. Firstly, MODO is not a waste of money at all if you can grab it as a Group Buy freebie!!! But the answer is not a clear yes/no for a choice of either EZBass vs. MODO Bass. To oversimplify, a point that Reid made in his detailed YouTube video comparison of EZBass & UJAM, is that if you want to PLAY bass, get a UJAM bass. If you want to COMPOSE a finished bass track for your song, get EZBass. To this, I may add that what you get with MODO Bass is no samples, so no load times. Everything is synthesized in real time. And with almost endless ways to shape your bass instrument and sound. Run MODO through AmpliTube 5 with SVX2 and you have the ultimate tone machine!!! Select full D.I. "10" in MODO, and dial their their AMP mix down to "0.0". So get all three! I did! I just don't think one can replace the other... Edit: after thinking it over, it occurred to me that MODO Bass is probably more of a producer's bass, rather than a player's or composer's bass...
  11. Here is the control map for MODO Bass. Might take some work to draw in some desired keyswitches in the piano roll and/or automate some CC parameters, to approximate the EZBass "fancy" articulations. All controls in the "Type" column can be set to "Off/Control Change/Learn", or they each have an additional "Type" option that might vary between one of: "Keyswitch/PW/Aftertouch". Keyswitch values can be adjusted up or down from C-2 to E7. Latch is "On/Off".
  12. I think I am going to experiment with playing back EZBass patterns using MODO Bass as the instrument. I would expect to have some issues where patterns are optimized to work with the EZBass instrument itself, but heck, that's still better than no patterns in MODO...
  13. The EZBass series seems to be a great tool for songwriters. The fact that you can drag all EZBass MIDI patterns out to your DAW tracks is a big plus! As far as the upright bass gap goes, I obtained the Ample upright bass this year. That is one sweet sound! I also have MODO Bass, and agree that is a very versatile bass VST with a great sound! If IK just added an upright model it would be even more awesome! Also have Waves Bass Fingers, and a couple of UJAM basses, but haven't melded with them yet. My Fender P-Bass is still in the closet, needing new strings.... ?
  14. Yup. I have several old controllers that have factory drivers. But I was just saying not to expect that from new controllers, at least until you verify.
  15. Sine Player shows up as a VST2 under "Orchestral Tools" in CbB here. Works great! Make sure that you install the plugin to your current VST scan path, or add the Orchestral Tools plugin install path to the CbB plugin scan paths.
  16. Not all do anymore. Probably something to look into when controller shopping, if that is an important factor for you. Not really an issue for me as I rarely run more than one MIDI application or DAW at a time. For example, I bought an Arturia KeyLab Mk II this year. From the Arturia manual:
  17. I think that "in your face" aspect is because most Syntronik presets are heavily effected. As Jordan suggests, turn the effects rack off, and Syntronik is as "dry as a bone".
  18. What keyboard did you plug in? And yes, the tips above ^^^ are all good ones. The computer first needs to recognize the USB device, before any audio software can use it.
  19. The thing with ASIO4ALL, or any other "generic" ASIO, if you have it installed and then add a "real" ASIO for your interface, it will probably conflict and prevent your DAW from locating the real one. I ran into this garbage when trying a Steinberg demo. It had installed a "Generic ASIO" driver that I was not aware of. So if you have been running one of those "unnecessary" ASIO clones, you had best wipe it clean before you attempt to use the real thing. But If you run ASIO4ALL with just an on-board OEM audio chip, you shouldn't have any issues. But it might be unnecessary for that use, if you can run WASAPI under Win10. WASAPI was optimized for Win10.
  20. Just read the side-by-side comparison linked in the post above yours to see what you get. Each higher level of ST4 includes the sounds from the lower levels. You will need ST4 MAX to get them all.
  21. Even if you get all of the group buy freebie instruments, you still will not have all the instruments offered in ST4 MAX (260GB and 8,000 presets). https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st4/ ST4 MAX has a much larger library than the ST4 SE that is included with TSM 2 MAX, and much of the ST4 MAX content is unavailable as separate individual instruments.
  22. Me either. I bought the Ample Upright this year. No hurry here...
  23. Well that deal was emailed directly to me by Spitfire back in early August and was $240. I was enticed over the fence by the PluginGuru Unify library for BBC Discover/Core!
  24. Already stepped up from BBC Symphony Discover to BBC Symphony Core at a user friendly upgrade price. Very nice! Also have the LABS and if you don't already, you should look into it. After all, it's free! https://labs.spitfireaudio.com/
