  1. Well they are not actually just MIDI loops. Loops are typically static unless you manually transform them. These are MIDI style phrases that adapt in the Ujam GUI to your fingering and key signature (automatically transpose), but they will loop as long as you hold the note down, or latch. For example, if you drag a MIDI style phrase from Ujam and drop it into a DAW track, it will inherit the root note that you are playing. Say you are in the key of C Major, play a phrase holding a 'C' note, and drag the phrase into the track. You will get a MIDI pattern based on C. If you follow that by playing the same phrase, but holding an 'E' note, and then dragging that into the DAW track will result in a MIDI phrase based on the 'E' note. And so on. You can build up a chord progression that way in your DAW track.
  2. Syntronik 2 is not really a ST3 or ST4 library, so I gave it a unique path on my samples drive. You make a good point though about needing to identify a sub-folder if you go that route.
  3. I held off on any Syntronik 2 CS install attempts until today. Saw too many reports of issues both here and at KVR, and decided to wait. I think IK has fixed the big problems since the initial release. I didn't have to authorize anything today. IKPM did it automatically. So that authorization part was as smooth as butter today! The C:\User\Public\Documents was the only thing that I had to fix manually, and then rescan. 100% good here now. ?
  4. Of the 3 Ujam drums that I now have (Phat, Heavy, and Solid), I would say that Solid is probably the most generally useful, for pretty much anything.
  5. Reid Rosefelt (Tiger the Frog) recently did a YouTube comparing TT EZBass with the Ujam Bass. His conclusion is that both are good, and have different uses. TT is better for finishing a song, where Ujam is better at being a virtual player in real time.
  6. Haven't tried that yet, but if the MIDI in the DAW track can still trigger an instance of EZKeys correctly, then Kontakt will probably need some adjustments.
  7. I found out that I already had the midi pack "Dream Pop". I only have the EZK upright piano, so I was curious about the sounds in those two expansions.
  8. Well I took a deep breath and installed Syntronik 2 CS today. Good news, it found all of my Syntronik 1 presets, and everything was authorized! ? Bad news, is that it installed the new 3GB sound library on my boot drive in a folder in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\IK Multimedia\Syntronik 2". Had to move it manually to my content drive, and set the new path in Syntronik 2 options. Simple fix. Good news! The presets and samples load very quickly now, compared to Syntronik 1. Even the Syntronik 1 instruments. Whooo-Hooo! ? Bad news, I had to adjust the new Syntronik 2 content path in SampleTank 4, and remove the reference to "C:\Users\Public\Documents\IK Multimedia\Syntronik 2". Simple fix. Good news, all is working very well now, and with no issues!
  9. I already have the single licenses for Exponential Nimbus and R4, that came with an iZotope bundle. Too bad they only offer one license each for the Exponential reverbs. The iZotope branded NeoVerb doesn't have that limitation. This might be a great time to grab a cheap 2nd Exponential Nimbus license for $10.
  10. The EZKeys Dream Machine and String Machine are both on sale for $39. Has anybody got either of them yet? Is that a good deal?
  11. Say what? What video adapter are you running? OpenGL 2 was released in 2004.
  12. Syntronik 1 will receive no further updates. (Says Peter, above).
  13. I haven't seen prices on the Ujam Virtual Basses below the $64 price point before. I think that is what I paid for Royal, and I probably even paid the intro price of $89 for Dandy in 2020. Hard to predict what Ujam will do in the future with pricing... Of the two basses, the Royal sounds more like a smooth fingered Fender roundwound session bass, with neck and bridge pickups, and amp or direct tones, while the Dandy is a flatwound bass, with amp and direct tones, neck and bridge pickups, and picked and thumbed sounds. They both have their uses. Since you like the Royal better, I assume that the fingered roundwound style works better for your music.
  14. Dandy is at v2.1, although the "2" is not in the product title (most likely because it was the latest release in the VB series, when 2 was already the current version). I already own Dandy, so I can confirm this. Review this page and you will see that the v2 features are included, such as MIDI drag n drop, and instrument mode. https://www.ujam.com/bassist/dandy/ More on Virtual Bassist 2.1 released July 10, 2020. https://www.ujam.com/blog/virtual-bassist-2-1/ Dandy, released on July 23, 2020. https://www.ujam.com/blog/virtual-bassist-dandy/
  15. That EZKeys MIDI is also $10 at the Toontrack site. https://www.toontrack.com/product/modern-pop-ezkeys-midi/
  16. 70% off until Dec 5th. Only at Sweetwater. MSRP $129. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VBDandy--ujam-dandy
  17. Arturia is one of the "good guys"!!! Sure, some folks may have gripes, or issues with Arturia upgrades. But bottom line is their products are high quality, and they occasionally give away things for free, and also issue free updates for products that you own. So "getting it" is more about supporting the "good guys", rather than always wanting to get over on them. Sure, everyone wants a good deal, but hopefully the "good guys" will stay in business for a long time, with our support!
  18. That makes sense! In any case, I bagged 2 new AAS Ultra Analog packs for $19.
  19. Speaking of included instruments, that is one thing to consider about the Live 11 "Suite" edition. You get a shedload of extra instruments, sounds, and Max devices included that are great for sound design and experimentation... In addition to the usual suspects, a few examples new in Live 11 Suite are: Instruments: https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/#?item_type=software_instruments Tension - in collaboration with Applied Acoustics Systems (String Studio) Analog - in collaboration with Applied Acoustics Systems (Ultra Analog) Electric - in collaboration with Applied Acoustics Systems (Lounge Lizard) Collision - in collaboration with Applied Acoustics Systems (Chromaphone) Sounds: https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/brass-quartet/ (Spitfire Audio) https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/string-quartet/ (Spitfire Audio) https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/upright-piano/ (Spitfire Audio)
  20. I'm seeing the same thing now, even though the current promo mentions AAS packs available as a free gift. Maybe you can only choose that AAS option once?
  21. True, but in the meantime you will be missing out on these 4 new synths for V Collection 8. ? Jun-6 V Vocoder V Emulator V OB-Xa V
