  1. What do you like most about Abyss? I tried the demo ...
  2. A $2,500 studio ornament. ? Better off with a couple lava lamps...
  3. Don't bother with the cheaper Arturia Keylab Essential. No aftertouch there, so that was a deal breaker for me on a controller. Also @ZincThad a bad experience with one of those models. He ended up exchanging it for a different brand after exhausting repair options. I'm sure they are probably not all lemons, but his sure was. I went for the Keylab 61 MkII earlier this year. Had to back order the 61 Mk11 for 2 months, as it was out of stock everywhere. But seriously, the build quality in the Mk11 is outstanding. Metal chassis, and the same keybed used on one of their MatrixBrute hardware synths. This thing is heavy! Reminiscent of my old Korg, Roland, and Alesis romplers. I have a few other cheap plastic controller keyboards that I feel no particular love for, so I wanted to splurge on something solid! Highly recommended! And the dedicated integration with Analog Lab is a bonus.
  4. Only if you think you may need one of these first... https://www.arturia.com/products/hybrid-synths/keylab-mkii/overview
  5. Actually mine is quite the opposite. I acquired EZdrummer this year, but I wish I had known that the GUI was not resizable before doing so... At least The AD2 GUI can be resized!
  6. Great decision! You will get a lot from Kontakt 6. Like the endless opportunity to buy more sound libraries! ?
  7. Well if you ever stop buying plugins, maybe you could save up for that keyboard that you want! ?
  8. I believe so. I have the Sonar FX bundle from Nomad Factory, but it's only authorized to work in Cakewalk by BandLab, or Sonar. This retail bundle should be unlocked for all.
  9. As opposed to other products that either have regular paid upgrades, or a subscription, or a WUP plan... XLN AD2 is a mature product that works very well, and probably doesn't need many new features. I commend them for continued support and maintenance releases for free. But I agree, a new kit every now and then would be nice...
  10. You can get the whole Blue Tubes Bundle V3 with 19 plugins... for $399.00 $29.00. http://store.dontcrack.com/product_info.php?products_id=215 The Blue Tubes Bundle V3 now contains 4 distinct products (also sold separately) that are : Blue Tubes Dynamics Pack http://store.dontcrack.com/product_info.php?products_id=216 Blue Tubes Effects Pack http://store.dontcrack.com/product_info.php?products_id=251 Blue Tubes Equalizers Pack http://store.dontcrack.com/product_info.php?products_id=217 Blue Tubes Analog TrackBox http://store.dontcrack.com/product_info.php?products_id=219 Oilcan Echo is included in the Blue Tubes Effects Pack.
  11. I think that Oilcan Echo was my favorite of the bunch in the Blue Tubes from Sonar.
  12. I guess that is where I am at. I think I'm only going to buy stuff that I plan to use, not just because it is available for an all-time low price. Unless it's free, and the hard drive space isn't an issue!
  13. Yep, that's a pretty good piano. I may put that back on when I replace my drive with a more bigger one! But the orchestral companions, ugh. I think that the Soundiron Elements blow them outta the water!
  14. I found some free drive space by deleting my SONiVOX crap that I never use anymore...
  15. I think that a lot of modular is just useless bleeps and bloops, and over modulation, because you can! ? But there is some good stuff in there if you look for it.
  16. I probably already have all the plugins I will ever need ... said no one ever... ?
  17. And back on topic... My favorite new Brass presets in this Elements expansion are: Fallout Radio, Majestic, and Wingsuit.
  18. I have the $69 offer, and that looks like a great deal, but I already have 3 of the FX from FX Collection 2 > Mini Filter, Chorus Jun-6, and Rev PLATE-140. They are good! But I think that by already having IK T-RackS 5 MAX, the rest of the FX Collection appear to be mostly duplicates for me. I could be mistaken, so open to opinions!
  19. Love that distant violins preset in there!
  20. Thanks for the heads up the Strings expansion! I had missed it because I only recently upgraded from Micro to Elements at the current sale price.
  21. Yes, V-Collection 8 certainly is a wide range of useful keyboard instruments, and not just synths! Acoustic and electric pianos, organs, mellotron, clavinet ...
  22. Producer's Guide to Scaler 2, $33.59 https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/66-Music-Courses/78-Video-Courses/6443-Producer-s-Guide-to-Scaler-2
  23. Yep, I do a "cold" image weekly with a USB drive that I rotate offline. But the Macrium Image Guardian assures me that nothing, including me, can tamper with daily image files that I have connected online to a hot USB drive!
