    Sonar X1

And another thing to keep in mind about the former Cakewalk software license terms, their licenses were never transferable once registered...
  2. I just use the IK Product Manager to let me know what to install. All of the products registered in my account appear with their current status, such as installed. Here is an attempt to organize my thinking about the overall package... There are 3 main TS 3.5 MAX programs that are "containers" (available as standalone or plugin): SampleTank 4 Amplitube 5 T-RackS 5 (the modules can also be used individually as plugins) SampleTank 4 MAX: Contains all of the sample based instruments, including Syntronik and Miroslav. AmpliTube 5 MAX: Contains 14 brand and artist collections and all 4 new virtual X-GEAR pedals, all benefiting from the latest breakthroughs in modeling technology. This massive collection offers over 400 ultra-realistic amps and FX to build your own unique sound, and over 2,500 included artist presets. T-RackS 5 MAX: contains new modules like FAME Studio Reverb, Comprexxor and the TASCAM Tape Collection. You also get ARC 3, the advanced acoustic room correction system and Lurssen Mastering Console, plus all of the current T-RackS modules. The other separate programs (also available as standalone or plugins): Hammond B-3X MODO DRUM Syntronik 2 (also in ST4) MODO BASS Miroslav Philharmonik 2 (also in ST4) MixBox
  3. Ship them here! Happy to help out! ?
  4. Yep, since the KeyLab Mk II has a Cubase mode, in addition to the Standard MCU, that's the first thing I'm gonna try!
  5. Yes, definitely check out the upcoming release of Cakewalk for the new Mackie protocol options for control surface. A few early access testers said that they were able to get much better compatibility with some controllers they had struggled with using Cakewalk. I plan to test out my Arturia KeyLab II with the new Cakewalk release. Mackie control surface improvements in 22.06 Early Access: The Mackie Control surface includes several new enhancements. New compatibility modes In addition to the recommended Cakewalk/SONAR mode, the Mackie Control surface now supports two extra emulation modes that can be used if your control surface does not provide a dedicated Cakewalk/SONAR mode: Mackie Control Universal (Universal Mode). Emulates Mackie’s default button layout. Mackie Control Universal (Cubase Mode). Emulates Mackie’s Cubase/Nuendo button layout. See thread here:
  6. And for those considering SampleTank 4 MAX, you may want to check out the current Total Studio 3.5 MAX deal... or wait for the next TS MAX version to come out which should include more of the recently released products (3.5 does not include them). $199 for the TS 3.5 MAXgrade, good through June 30th. Log into your account to see what you qualify for. https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=12656
  7. I gave the M-12 a go, because, well it's one of the great classic synths. I have the Matrix-12 V2 emulation in Arturia, but the Syntronik version is great too! However, the GS-V is not something I considered a must have...
  8. Right, but you do get all of these (in ST4 MAX) extra libraries for ST3 that were released after ST3 MAX... ALAN PARSONS IMPERIAL GRAND AMERICAN ACOUSTIC ART DECO PIANO BILLY COBHAM DRUMS BRANDENBURG PIANO CINEMATIC PERCUSSION FUTURE SYNTHS HUGH PADGHAM DRUMS LONDON GROOVES NEIL PEART DRUMS ORCHESTRAL PERCUSSION TERRY BOZZIO DRUMS
  9. Thomann also has the 6-pack MIDI deals for EZkeys and Drummer... $89.
  10. I wouldn't bother unless going for the ST4 MAX at $199. I have ST4 MAX and that's where more of the good stuff is, for example 200 GB of all new ST4 samples, vs. 70 GB of all new ST4 samples in the standard version. More Basses, more Brass, more Acoustic Guitars, the Red Strat Electric Guitar, more Percussion, more Strings, more Woodwinds, the SampleTank 3 Premium Instrument and Drum Collections, and Miroslav Philharmonik 2 CE. The only downside is they stuff MAX full of some basic synth instruments, which is pretty redundant if you already have Syntronik. See for yourself, compare versions >>> https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/include/st4/soundlist/SampleTank_4_comparison.pdf
  11. Sounds fine here! Using it in a DAW with the performance meter running, I can see that this Syntronik instrument is using less than 1% CPU with 6 notes playing concurrently. Check your volume levels as suggested, and maybe try increasing your audio buffer size.
  12. Fyi, the group buy is on it's last day, and is currently about to hit 4,000 participants, standing at 3,952!!! I'd say it was a success!!!
  13. Yep, that's basically what they were saying... ?
  14. I saw a discussion of the GS-V issues over on the KVR forums. It appears that the issue is related to not all of the zip files are installed. But since I passed on GS-V, I have no details to share on the fix here...
  15. No. They just added the new versions of select plugins, added a few new ones, and deleted some that had become obsolete. The article in the magazine gives an overview, and there is a PDF in the File Silo that gives an overview in more detail. Here is a list of the included instruments in the new plugin suite: Here is a list of the effects in the new plugin suite: Note from the CM editor:
  16. As I recall, Syner-V was a weird install. It placed a lot of the sample content into a separate folder. That caused errors when trying to open presets. But after I figured out what the installer had done, it was a simple fix to drag them over to the main Syner-V sample folder.
  17. That's usually the case, unless a VSTi offers MIDI out with the full chord/pattern. UJAM apparently does not offer that option. Some arpeggiators do offer that, and then you can record that pattern to a MIDI track. It's not like they are protecting their patterns, as you can easily just drag them onto your track timeline... Good write-up though! Thanks for sharing!
  18. The default Syntronik 2 Multi location is fine, and is located in the Syntronik 2 folder. For me that's at "D:\Syntronik 2\Multis".
  19. As far as I know you will need the CM June 22 issue #308 to unlock v2.0 plugins (just released). Older CM back issues should get you v1 plugins. Edit: CM #309 July also has the new plugin suite.
  20. I grabbed the CM deal through Zinio back in February. Enjoying it so far, especially the updated v2.0 of the CM plugin archive! They have added the updated versions of u-he Zebra CM and Bazille CM to the archive, among other things.
  21. If you use the "Install to" and then "Reinstall library" features in IK Product Manager, you can place everything in the Syntronik 2 folder. This is not the default, but once you do this all Syntronik 1 and Syntronik 2 content will be installed in the Syntronik 2 path. It then looks like a complete duplicate of Syntronik 1, and you only need to configure the Syntronik 2 content path in the settings for everything. If you have already downloaded the installers, they should remain in the Product Manager folder until you delete them or archive them, so that they can be reinstalled if necessary. Regarding Syntronik 1, I haven't noticed anything missing since I deleted my Syntronik 1 folders. But I did wait until everything was in and working exclusively from the Syntronik 2 folder before I deleted anything. Hope this helps!
  22. I decided that I could live without ever installing the GS-V just on principle. ? 31 GB is a ridiculously large sample set for a single instrument!!! I don't care how rare or good it may sound, I have alternatives for that type of sound already. Just a heads up though, there are 21 multis which I found that call for GS-V. So I hid them from Syn 2 in the multis folder (renamed with a fake file extension) so I won't have to put up with the crashes and/or missing sounds with them. 23. That's the same thing that I did. Installed everything in the Syntronik 2 folder, with my Syntronik Deluxe still in my SampleTank 3 folder. Then I ran the Windows uninstaller (in Programs & Features) for Syntronik Deluxe. Afterwards I went through the SampleTank 3 folder and deleted all things "Syntronik". Recovered a nice chunk of real estate on my drive that Deluxe was using, and all is good here now! Make sure to backup any Syntronik Deluxe presets or multis that you have created, as those will not be included in the Syntronik 2 installers. Then copy them into the respective folders in your Syntronik 2 path.
