  1. I have the full Fairfax Vols 1 & 2, and they're already up to date. But thanks anyway! Keep on truckin'.
  2. Then the MIDI Out from Komplete Kontrol could be your issue if you are using Omni input for your other tracks.
  3. Sort of a stealth group buy, perhaps?
  4. My thoughts... Your Windows boot drive should be on an SSD. Windows will then boot like a tablet. 7200 RPM drives are fine for tracking audio, and archiving projects and installers. Recommend to always make your backups to HDD's as less likely to suddenly fail than SSD. Make backups of your backups. Consider loading your large sample libraries (if you have them) from SSD. The sequential read access speed is much, much faster. 7200 RPM HDD is fine for this if you have patience. Macrium Reflect free will clone an existing HDD to SSD in one step. Get an external USB adapter cable to connect the new SSD with, and then clone away! After cloning, swap in the new SSD! Simples!
  5. Run the free MIDI-OX monitor with just the keyboard controller connected to confirm... http://midiox.com/ https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/209544729-How-to-Monitor-the-Input-of-a-MIDI-Controller View > Input Monitor From the Options menu, select MIDI Devices. This will display a new window where you will see the name of your controller in the MIDI Inputs panel. Click on it to select it and then click on OK. Once you have returned to the main area, press / turn a control on your MIDI controller. If MIDI OX displays incoming MIDI data, your controller is sending MIDI events correctly into the system. If you see MIDI events being sent when you are not touching the controller, you have a hardware problem...
  6. Getting started... Naked and Afraid style, apparently! ?
  7. I don't have that unit, but there is some possible good news in the upcoming release of Cakewalk 2022.06, currently available as an Early Access download. This new feature worked very well for me with a different brand of controller that is Cubase compatible, but never worked very well with Cakewalk before. With the controller set to Cubase DAW Mode, and with Cubase Mode selected in the revised Cakewalk Control Surface definition it's 99% compatible for me now. Mackie control surface improvements The Mackie Control surface includes several new enhancements. New compatibility modes In addition to the recommended Cakewalk/SONAR mode, the Mackie Control surface now supports two extra emulation modes that can be used if your control surface does not provide a dedicated Cakewalk/SONAR mode: Mackie Control Universal (Universal Mode). Emulates Mackie’s default button layout. Mackie Control Universal (Cubase Mode). Emulates Mackie’s Cubase/Nuendo button layout. The NEKTAR is Mackie Control Universal (MCU) compatible, and NEKTAR DAW integration supports Cubase. So this might work! Give it a try! There are a few bugs in the Early Access that have already been reported, and fixes are being pushed into the final release, so you may want to wait until then.
  8. I have been a synth-head since the mid-80's, and I have always loved layering sounds from several instruments to create new textures. In recent years as computers and soft synths have grown in power and capability, I've found that it's even easier to layer sounds while working all in-the-box now. With that said, I have been exploring the creative side of soft samplers alongside my collection of virtual analog, virtual digital, and virtual modular synths. It's pretty much a given that you can make some very interesting soundscapes and pads with classic synths and some effects. But what I see now is that modern samplers allow you to synthesize with organic waveforms (real world samples). which expands the creative possibilities for entirely never heard before sounds by shaping, blending, and/or morphing them together. I think that some of these sample based instruments from SoundPaint, Mntra, iZotope Iris, and even Unify have the potential to take sound design to the next level. And you can still layer them with traditional synths if desired. Worth exploring, and just my two cents...
  9. I would say that Hans actually shattered the traditional boundaries of orchestration with this Dune score...
  10. Thanks! That was a very educational video! Hans is a genius! I imagine that he would have used Zebra 2/Dark Zebra if he could have gotten these sounds out of a soft synth... Best quote: "Wherever you have a goat and you have a piece of wood, all I want to say is the goat better watch out!" LOL! ?
  11. I would start looking for answers here, and then contact NI support... https://community.native-instruments.com/categories/komplete
  12. Does Komplete 14 have a release date yet? There is probably a grace period, but I have no idea how long it is...
  13. Regarding the link from the Groove3 Perks page: "Enjoy 25% all Eventide plug-ins when shopping online at www.eventide.com. *Can not be applied to sale price plug-ins." Except nearly everything is on sale...
  14. R.I.P. Dave Smith https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=582597
  15. It's a no-brainer if you are into Voltage Modular!
  16. Yep, looks like they killed the code today! ?
  17. If you are on the fence regarding Physion, there is a cool Groove3 "Eventide Physion Explained" series by Eli Krantzberg (52 minutes) that is very enlightening! https://www.groove3.com/tutorials/Eventide-Physion-Explained *free for registered Groove3 users
  18. Glad that you found your way in...
  19. But you could do 9 separate transactions for $25 off on each!
  20. I just used my Groove3 perk for another Eventide deal and it worked again. $25 off...
  21. First, you need to log in to your Groove3 account. Then go to your "Groove Perks". Find the one for Eventide and "Claim perk" if you are eligible (Requirements: Previous Paid Order at Groove3). Once the Groove Perk status is "claimed" you simply hit the blue "Redeem Here" button, and you will be taken to the Eventide site. Add the plugin of choice and the discount is applied in the cart when you hit "Checkout".
  22. The Z3TA+2 VST2 is a 64-bit plugin, as is the VST3 version. The display scaling settings are found (in Windows 10) in the Windows settings applet, in the Display section: "Scale and layout" [100% (recommended)].
  23. Sounds interesting. But at 73.29 GB whoah!!! ?
  24. That would be very helpful! It seems that the new Mackie Control Surface features are going to be great!!!
  25. That works great!!! Set it to toggle the record metronome here, which IMO is the most useful (using the KeyLab 61 Mk II). Thanks for the translation!
