So I got these about a week ago. Here's some feedback.

Please keep in mind I'm known around these parts (and everywhere else) to dislike most things and not being afraid of publicly stating as much. Also keep in mind that, before reading up on how much effort Steven Slate has been and is putting into this, I basically regarded him as a cash grabbing fraud who puts out rushed, uninspiring products and focuses on marketing more than quality (boy, was I wrong. The guy and his entire team are putting their heart and soul into this.)

Ready? I don't think you are.

I've only done 4 and a half mixes with VSX so far, so obviously, I need a lot more time with the headphones and software, but I can already very confidently say this: this is, to me, the one magic thing that changes everything I've always been looking for. After just a week, it is already definitely, without the slightest doubt, BY FAR the best music related product I've ever purchased. Do keep in mind that I basically own every plugin under the moon, including ridiculously expensive "holy grail" ones (hi Ziad).

Using just VSX with a few different rooms and speakers and regularly switching to reference tracks, I can suddenly hear everything clearly and in detail, I can hear what's wrong with a track or mix and know what to do because it is SCREAMING at me. I can suddenly, quite honestly almost magically, make EQ, compression and reverb/delay related choices with ease and confidence and it actually sounds right and translates to other devices afterwards.

If you research this product, you will find almost exclusively overwhelmingly positive feedback (like >99%), and that is, for once, because it ACTUALLY IS just that good.

I would pay almost any amount of money for this. I would trade all of my plugins for it and mix with stock effects if I had to. And my mixes would still be better than ever. $399 and especially $349 (see post above) is a R I D I C U L O U S bargain for this. If you do any mixing at all, do yourself a favour and buy it immediately, no matter how much doubt you have or how much you believe that "you can't mix on headphones". Because you really can. And you WILL.

Excellent write up. Thank you. I'm looking forward to receiving mine.

How many kids do you have? Do you need all of them?

i exchanged the wife for NI Komplete Ultimate CE… it was a win win situation

I have two. Already got rid of them. Or so I thought. It's the 5 grand kids that keep popping up each day now. :)

The youngest (13 months) jumps for joy each time he bangs on the piano keyboard. He loves it!

My room full of music gear here is his favorite place in the world right now. Got him drumming with drumsticks every time he comes into the room. Such a big smile on his face each time. :)

Edit: So actually he's made more music than me in the last month that I have in years.

Thanks for that link. It's good to know users can still download the older versions if they are having issues with the latest.

In looking through the list I noticed "Guarneri Violin". Never heard of it. Looked in my Native Access and I have it downloaded already as part of K14UCE.

Takes up 24.47GB! This is just a reminder that I already own more than I even know and don't really need to be scouting more stuff all the time.

... But I'm addicted and most likely will. :(

    Thanks for the link.

  4. Wait. We're actually supposed to make music with all this gear and software?

Oh man... I thought I was winning by having more then everyone and getting it cheaper.

I'm still mad I didn't have cash on hand a month ago when Melda everything bundle was $560 at JRRshop.

I'm still on the hunt for that one to pop up again! But sadly I'm completely tapped out now after BF/CM and if it does I'll really be pissed.

Thanks for your advice. It may be a little while until I get them.

I found that at Musicians Friend you can get $30 in rewards points, saving a bit more. but they are backordered.

(Musicians Friend noted in case someone else hasn't bought them yet)

I grabbed 'em yesterday from Sweetwater when then had a few more come in. Had 4 left when I ordered last night. Gone today.

So keep an eye out from retailers and grab 'em when they have some stock.

I've heard only incredible reviews on these. Well there were like three bad ones by owners questioning if they had a bad pair and others asking if they plugged the cable in all the way. lol

  6. I read that as buttfizzer at first. Wasn't sure I wanted to check it out..

But I guess since it's actually bitfuzzer I will..?

Hmmm. I'm on the rim on this one.

Edit: Well, he looked so satisfied in the youtube thumbnail I decided to give it a go. A freebie is a freebie.

  7. I fell asleep to the latest 'what's new' biab 2024 video on youtube. It's so long. Best lullaby ever. Haha.

Every year they add a ton more to it except make it modern and cool and less robotic.

Disclaimer: I have bought it twice now over the years. I should probably finally use it. I might actually like it.

You could have said "NO!" and saved me money ?

    Haha. Yep.

But I wouldn't tell you to do anything I'm not going to do as well. Which is buy these here this week while they're on sale! :)

Just finalizing a few other purchases before clicking buy on these bad boys on the 1st when the sale ends.

Looking forward to hear how you like 'em.

  9. I don't see it list the orchestra essentials though in the list of approved dependencies.

"Crossgrade from Best Service Complete Orchestral Collection, Complete Classical Collection, or String Essentials "

Or does it count? I'd get it for $79 if it did. Might need to ask Uncle E?

I asked bestservice via email and will share their response if it is.

  10. I'm so glad they are smart enough to set the date until 12/31. I'm in.

Wouldn't have the money now anyway with all the other stuff I'm buying.

Really like all they've done on the 2.0 upgrade. Sounds incredible as always and the features are even better. Nice.

I think this is a great value overall, especially since you get the full version of HALion 7 plus everything else in ABSOLUTE.

Yes it is. I'm definitely getting it this year after skipping it the last two years.

Halion 7 is an awesome one by itself never mind the other stuff.

For me TS Max to TS Max is 249...not installed ;)

I'm done with the screw the existing customer companies :)

    Bill

Yep. Me too. IK does this every year.

I won't be buying into their group buy promotions anymore.

New customers get the better deal by just buying one product and then upgrading to TS Max. Then only upgrading when the whole package is updated.

For us who have been there forever they try to get us to do the GB and then still want $199 to upgrade to the latest  ts max the next year while only providing a couple of new items in the package. Meh. No thanks.

They really need to make a TS Max upgrade $99 and allow us to use those points that are never worth using. I have  $273 in jamuselesspoints now that never get used.

  13. Thanks guys. I finally bought it last night. Was hemming and hawing over dropping $600 on it for hours last night but finally gave in.

It's a top quality package so worth it in my opinion. It's also just been updated for M1 capability. So good to see them keeping it up to date.

The only thing it doesn't come with is the "MULTI CHANNEL LOUDNESS BUNDLE" which is an additional $129.

I've got 4 sets of NS-10s I have been planning for years to use as a 7.1 surround setup. Might get around to that 'next year' perhaps.

So might wait on this final package until next BF.

Also, Dom Sigalas has a nice review of it on his channel. And if you search YT for this video "Adding Vocal Reverb with TC 8210 Classic Reverb", he nails the reverb on this song with the 8210. Wow. Check out 3:15 and after into that video.

  14. Dang. I think I'm finally going to get VSX. Been putting it off for two years plus now. Finally time it seems.

The glowing reviews keep pouring in. Even my fav psytrance producer lives on them daily the past few years now he says.

They even just added two new rooms I'd read.

Think I'll order from sweetwater for $399 unless you know a less expensive place?

Just in case anyone else is in the same boat I was (or perhaps similar boats also floated substantially):

I had bought the Ethera Gold Vocal version a while back, with the option (via a code provided on the Ethera Gold "Versions" tab on the product page) to upgrade to the full version for $26 at any time.

With the initial Ethera discounts a few days ago, that was reduced to $21.

    With the "boosted" discounts: $0.01.

Worth a check if you're eligible for any Ethera loyalty or upgrade disounts at Zero G.

Thanks. Looks promising. Can't find the versions tab nor code yet though.
