Migrating to Win 10 - plugin best practice
Grem replied to Bristol_Jonesey's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Never thought of this. Good idea. -
As scook tried to point out, adding a synth to a project in CbB can be done several ways. Each way has options that you must choose. To choose the correct options you want requires you know what those options do. That takes you reading the description for each one. One thing to understand is when you insert/create a syth Track, CbB will create an audio trk for that synth. This is for the soft synth output to be heard. It's input is determined by you when you create the synth track. HTH

Maybe so. Not at my PC, (at work on cell).

I see what your talking about now. For the English version of CbB I use the D key to open and close the multidock. Shift+D maximizes/minimizes the Multodock. Not sure what that is saying, can't read it. But can you unbind the shortcut? Is that option available? Is Mixer View a Workspace? If so, that keybinding maybe part of that Workspace. I don't use Workspace so I am not familiar with how it works. But I do use Multidock a lot. Love the multidock.

I think Workspaces needs to be set to None for this to get saved correctly. That's how I save my project templates. And they have certain options off (such as Smart Grid....ugh!) and minimal trks and such. I also save my template with certain Screen Sets setup the way I want. That way I am always working the same way in all projects.

Migrating to Win 10 - plugin best practice

I do the same as abacab, except my folder is named VST 2 and in C\:Program Files\VST 2. I find this helps me remember what I installed where. When I install legacy stuff from Sonar, I let it put it in it's default vst folder. I haven't used 32bit plugins in a long while. And I still have vst folders in C:\Programs File (x86), but they are put there by installation programs that insist on installing there without the option of not to. But I don't have CbB scan those folders anyway. -
What are you meaning "Mixer Mode"? Is this a Lens that you use? Reason I ask is when you view the mixer it opens in the multi dock, so I am not understanding what you mean when you say the multidock won't work in mixer mode.

On Win 10 since it came out. Ain't going back.

That is correct. I sould have stated that in my post. This helps me get around my projects with ease.

AmpliTube Gear Grab - 50% off branded collections
Grem replied to Peter - IK Multimedia's topic in Deals
Well then let me know Bapu. All I have is the Amplitube version. To be honest, in the Amplitube version I can use the amps like a regular amp, and they don't sound bad at all!! @Zo couldn't remember if you got the Mesa stuff. I still use Sampletank 3 and 4. I am really happy with the sounds, the midi that comes with it too. -

Nice price on the Leslie. @Zo might want the Mesa? -
This is an excellent sounding reverb.
-
This is a good un.
-
I was looking at that and wondering if I would want it. I have several of thier midi generators and like them. [edit] I got the Midi bundle cheap when it was on sale. It had a lot of add-ons with it too.
-
You need to stop this Peter!! I told ya I would get it eventually. ???
-
@Hidden Symmetry I thought of thinning the herd too, but I so enjoy playing different guitars. I have my favorite four hanging on the wall. And two acoustic on stands. All others are put away.
-
I almost got that one too. But I just have too many guitars. Yeah I know that's not true....
-
We are all still overwhelmingly using MIDI 1.0 on a daily basis. Any improvement to this protocol is welcomed. And that's what MIDI 2.0 does. Along with new features along with that I think it's a win for everyone. Did it take way too long? Good things are worth the wait!! : ) @TheStevenThanks for the link

Well, I just realized I haven't used my voucher yet!!

I have an old Alvarez 5220 that I got from a college girl that didn't want it. Her dad gave it to her as a birthday present. Bought it from her for $150 around 1985. I still play it and it's my favorite acoustic. Greatest action all the way up and down the neck. I can't complain about it. Even after all these years it is still in as good a shape as it ever was.

Abbey Abbey Road Plates if you don't have that. I would also suggest PSP Springverb. That thing is really nice!!
-
Are you saying that if I possessed these two plugins, I would no longer suffer with GAS?
-
Glad to hear this. I would have lost some respect for TT if they were just trying to repackage already released product. Seems like they are trying to get more Superior Drummer elements into EZD. I like EZD because...... it's easy? With EZD2 they started giving more options in how to control the sound of the drums. Now offering specific drums for you to add and build your own kits. Maybe it's just me. With EZD, I pick a sound I like for the song, then leave them unprocessed until mixdown. Then I only stick very little on the buss. (I may do a little on the kick/snare!)

Man we could go off on that one!!!
