This is a very annoying bug. If I solo an instrument track with the global Solo Exclusive enabled and I do any event change in the Event Inspector, then the solo state is cleared (I always have to re-click it). It seems that this only happens if the synth(instrument) is also used in another MIDI track!

Hi all together! It is the 2nd time that I noticed that NI Absynth 5 loses the settings of the selected patch when I close and reopen the project with CbB. Does anyone else have the same problem? What can I do (except of selecting another patch and then reselecting the original one; this is very painful in Absynth). By the way I used the VST2 version. If I use Reaper instead, then the settings are NOT lost.

I am also sad. On the other hand I bought so many PA plugins because of these vouchers, that I never use probably (redundant to other plugins).

Strange, here in Sweden most of them are over 50 USD (using the actual currency rate)! ? Maybe it's because Softube is a Swedish company! ?

IMO Larry is the soul of this forum. Hope he is not lost in politics!

There were a number of individuals doing that, not only one! I don't mind critique, but the tone of some was a bit off-key IMHO.

Oh yes, I know, you mean the Scottish folk. MACCleod, MACArthur, MACEan, MACGregor, ... ?

Reading yesterdays' posts I understand absolutely that Larry does not feel to appear on this forum today! Sometimes there are some nasty grinches that spoil the desire to write posts here! ☹️

PastToFutureReverbs has released Tascam M-208 8 Channel Analog Console IR
marcL replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
This was the last of my consoles I sold (in 2011). ? -
Since almost the start of W10 I haven't seen any changes that were real show-stoppers for a DAW. Thus I don't expect neither W11 nor W12 are really worth for us musicians. ? On my laptop (that is online) I would prefer some of the first W10 versions (instead of the almost current one that was forced by MS), because the performance has decreased considerably!

Cakewalk not sharing ASIO drivers with Windows.
marcL replied to RexRed's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
For a long time I use successfully a Behringer UMC404HD on my laptop with ASIO. And I don't have problems either if I use 48k in Cakewalk. It is as John says, most Videos use 48! But if I open a Cakewalk project with 44100, then the videos in the browser have no sound as the OP mentioned. By the way the Behringer UMC driver and the interfaces are really good. I have also a PreSonus Studio24c and its performance is terrible compared to the Behringer. With Presonus I have always to up the buffer size to have no issues! -
Yes, IF there was something new that I really wanted! ? But for an impulse buy almost $40 (with 25% tax here) is too much IMO. Anyway with almost 10% inflation there is less money available for plugins!

I had about the same feeling. But the Wibu CodeMeter did even NOT install on one of my systems (I guess because my temp directory was on another drive). I re-downloaded and the same thing (something about an invalid configuration in a file on the temp, created by the installer itself)! As you said all very unprofessional! ?

What I really like with Arturia is that they have the product "Analog Lab" for those lazy people with not so much synth knowledge like me ?. I prefer using presets and only do minor tweaks, so why should I spend my money to buy a full functional synth? (Except Jupiter 8, because we had once a real hardware in our band in the 80s, I could not resist to buy it).

I am really not thrilled of the newer PA direction! (in respect of vouchers, prices and new products)

IMHO iLok is much better than most other machine dependent authorizations! With iLok it is at least clear what you have to do in case of a problem (it is a standard), almost no provider specific handling! And even if a provider disappears, you still can move your authorizations! When I had problems with my laptop's Windows installation it was a nightmare with all those different machine dependent authorizations, each company has its own rules (de-authorization, number of authorizations are unknown, information not available, ...). And if you have authorizations on a iLok dongle it is even better in case of system problems, 'cos it is not affected! Okay, still I prefer real offline keys (offline serial or offline file)!

Well, there's a lot of AI (most?) where the "I" is not really what it promises! ? This is not only true for music plugins!
-
This makes me totally skeptical if a company does say something like that for their own product(s)! Most of the time I concluded that the product is rather stupid instead! ?

Vocals clipping badly , how to cure ?
marcL replied to RICHARD HUTCHINS's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
IMO this is a way to dramatically expressed! ? If a part has clippings for very short sections, then it can be repaired with tools like De-clip in iZotope's RX or the De-clip of the Restoration Suite of Acon Digital. Though, in one of the phonemes above the clipping seems to be very bad. But even in such situations I had some pretty good results. The limit for De-clip operations is probably when a passage of several notes is clipped all together. Yes, I also agree that sometimes re-recording maybe a good option. But there are situations when a) it is not possible to re-record or b) you don't want to re-record all (of some reason) and then it is also difficult to match the old recording (if you don't know the exact positions, distance, environment). But sure, it is a good practice to record generally less hot! ? -
I still think that it is a problem if the number of portals/assistants/hubs/managers increases (more and more companies go this way), because the update surge is immense (the portals are updated too often, more than the plugins) they almost never have a good solution for the installation on more than 1 system (download on each) many run only online, no offline variant each one has its own rules, configuration and issues (the Tower of Babel) they bind you to 1 provider their installation doings are almost never transparent (what they do on your systems) they don't support a good way of backup they clutter your Windows system they don't do proper uninstallations some require huge installation times in addition to the downloads (e.g. NI) and I am sure there are some more annoyances All in all, I doubt that they really make the life of the musicians easier, on the contrary they generate us a lot of trouble! But YMMV as always! ?

Thank you Base 57! This works great if I drag a single clip to the browser! Even the volume for mono clips does not change, as it should! ? On the other hand if I drag multiple clips at once there are the following problems: The length of the saved clips are all according to the longest one! In this case strange names are generated: "Clip-<track name> <track number> (<count>)" But nonetheless this is the best solution when you drag one by one to the browser. ? The only caveat is that also in this case a "(<count>)" is added to the name (must then be removed manually!).
-
It seems there is no reasonable way left to export mono clips (so that you can use the clip name as part of the file name). ? Thus I will use the old manual way to export clips without changing loudness: Select and export each clip separately with "export tracks" setting (and almost anything disabled) and enter the file name manually! Meh!
