Are these any good? I would like to toy around with bagpipes on the weekend for the price of a pizza. Worth it? Any Scotsmen or international bagpipe experts around?
-
Yes, for iZotope.

A completely different idea this time.

Exactly. But the new and shiny tools ... -
They have managed to lose my purchases. And I guess I am not the only one.

That's a lot of money. .. But it's pink.

To be fair, "streamlining" Trash 3 a bit in comparison to V2 might give quicker results without sacrificing quality, better workflow (time will tell) and the right solution for our distortion needs in 90% of the cases. I've always perceived Trash 2 as a feature-rich workstation solution with nearly endless depth, but is this what I need in everyday producing and mixing? A crucial factor will be the quality of the IRs and distortion algorithms. But to build an opinion on these things, I'll have to buy and thoroughly test the product. Having Dist Coldfire, Pyros, the Voxengo saturation / distortion stuff and Melda around, I don't know if it's wise to add another fancy animal to the zoo. Looking forward to reading your posts / opinions as they are, as someone else said, relatively unbiased by economic considerations.

Yes, features will be added in Trash 4 and 5. 199 bucks to upgrade then. Seriously, iZotope develop their stuff like games, nearly no improvements once released.

Installed?

Orchestra Tools Close-up soundscapes: Salu is 50% off
ralfrobert replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
You are welcome. And I reinvest most of my Knobcloud pocket money in new plugins, so there is a third happy group of people. -
True. Simple as that. They are nice tools, but can get pricey over time.

Orchestra Tools Close-up soundscapes: Salu is 50% off

That's a big amount of money in the end, couple of thousands a year. Good thing I am constantly bankrupt so I cannot participate. -
The effects are worth a look, too. Good results with very little tweaking, not only for guitars.

$19 plus VAT if applicable. https://www.kuassa.com/products/efektor-moon-muffin-fuzz/ If you own Amplifikation 360, the plugin is free. You might have to wait for some hours to see it in your account. I have to say: Getting 360 was money well spent. The plugins are very good, can be used in the 360 GUI as modules or stand-alone, and new ones come in regularly. Kuassa is a very underrated company IMO.

Upgrade is available in the account for 19 bucks. Quite fair I would say.

Any opinions on the variety and sound quality of this offer? I'm looking for a comparatively small library of sounds for music applications which fits on my mobile setup. This seems to be ok. I know it's not enough for film / post prod, but that's not my focus right now. Any help appreciated.

A great playground for the ones who don't need the latest and greatest.

Want to do developers and plugin shops a small favour? (not a deal)
ralfrobert replied to Lamia6's topic in Deals
Honestly, I do not see a reason to subscribe to manufacturer / shop newsletter as there are forums like the one right here. And on the other hand, I'm still getting stuff which is unsolicited and therefore plainly illegal from some of these nice and sweet fellows. The whole marketing landscape is hostile towards consumers. Simple as that. Let me put it this way: As long as there are philosophies around preaching "if you double your spam from 50000 to 100000 this will likely double your conversions", the behaviour displayed by PA, iZotope, Avid and the likes just feels wrong, and I am happy to filter the stuff and make life harder for my adversaries who want money in the end. Marketing departments are not friends and family. There are, however, some (mainly smaller) companies that have a different, content-centric approach to mailings: dSoniq come to mind, TBProAudio, Hofa, just to name a few. -
Sugar Bytes` products seem to be good and interesting and all, but with this pricing policy is a no go for me. Waldorf never appealed to me. I have the feeling they have missed a bus or two.

They may release an update to V2 and charge 80 bucks for it. Hasn't it been this way with another product? Hard pass from me.
