  1. Eilean piano by this dev. has been my go-to cinematic piano for the last few months, which imo is similar to NI’s noire but i like it a lot better. Has a unique atmospheric/pad-like layer that you can blend in with the modwheel. really interested in this one as it looks like a big time saver in the realm of layering different sounds for climactic textures
  2. Any Difference from the filter module in rift? Worth the price of a cheeseburger if i already have that?
  3. Re: shadow hills—I have had both since dirk’s big giveaway a few years ago. I think they color the sound a little differently but too subtle for me to tell how. but GUI wise the L/R sides can both be linked/adjusted simultaneously on class A, while you have to manually adjust each side independently with the non class a version
  4. I would compare waves plugins to those old nokia flip phones.. wouldn’t say visual appeal is their strong point, but you can throw them at just about anything and they’ll still work
  5. 0.2 versions till 8 already? ?
  6. I have it, it seems marketed as a trap based instrument so far which is a genre i’m not producing personally, but it makes some really interesting sounds in the low notes that remind me synthetic braams or something. Higher pitched keys almost replicate like a metal screech kind of sound. Sounds really cool with reverb and other fx thrown on. So far my favorite application of it is layering it over a snare, to emphasize the hit in a sense (on a 4th bar of a sequence). Also just enjoy messing around with the randomize feature for synth patch inspiration, it has a lot of character. Very experimental, though. YMMV
  7. Any recommendations on the most reliable alternative external drive brand then? Samsung, perhaps? OWC?
  8. Thanks—figured as much, wasn’t sure at first seeing separate licenses for each version in ilok. Answers my question. Happy holidays!
  9. I recently upgraded from vocalign project to ultra, and notice that the plugins are independent of each other in iLok/DAW. I think ultra does all the same functions but more, which makes project irrelevant right? Does that mean I can transfer or sell v project 5 and keep Ultra? Or is having project registered in my account always a prerequisite/qualifier to continue using ultra? (I thought to myself, this really must be a dumb question), but then again i know you all have much more experience than myself so just wanted to check: TLDR—has anyone upgraded to ultra then got rid of project?
  10. Wow thanks. Does this make seventh heaven redundant as well?
  11. Same also got the $99 offer in the acon site after getting the last PA offer like this
  12. Fully paid for V8, FX3, Pigments and still looking at $299. Loyalty shmoyalty i guess
  13. If i’m not mistaken i thought the HB vocals included a stripped down version of the multiplier. I have the multiplier and like it as a subtle effect. It is easy to overdo it but in those cases can be more geared towards sound design
  14. I’m too late, had it in the cart for $55 until they removed the option to use jampoints again lol. I’ll be sure to dl CS to prep better for next time they do this.
  15. This is a very far cry since we’re on a cakewalk forum (haven’t had the best exp with ik support), but has anyone out there (on a mac) with mojave 10.14 or lower been able to run tonex? I’m currently on that OS, so seeing that the minimum system requirement listed at 10.15, this would be the only thing keeping me from considering this sale. I have amplitube 5 which runs perfectly, but not sure if anyone knows whether it’s at least able to run the necessities of Tonex on a machine as old as mine. I’ll live if not but it is one of those questions I keep coming back to
  16. Now to find a BF deal on enrollment somewhere to classify as a student in something
  17. Is it possible to install shp on an external drive? That 10gb doesn’t look good for me
  18. It may be that I don’t want to spend any money, or that I’m tone deaf, but can hardly tell apart americana from the vintage bass that comes with the core plugin, at least based on the example tracks. If anyone uses it frequently, would you say it carries $50 worth of distinct differences that couldn’t be closely mimiced with one of the 2 core basses+tone shaping plugins/amps? and sure, subjective question but call it more of a survey
  19. Precisely it was intended to be a subjective question, but this is exactly the type of answer I’m looking for so thank you. I currently don’t have the local harddrive space to fit a demo for seventh heaven but if I bought it I would be motivated to make some sacrifices there. At least for right now just trying to get an idea based on mostly subjective opinions of what’s out there. May give CRP a demo though, looks like just 200mb to install. Thought it was more since SHP is a whopping 10gbs. So far Pro-R seems to have the easiest workflow but I could be wrong. I like valhalla for adding color
  20. For mostly vocals (as well as instrument vst’s), is pro-r usually preferred more over liquid sonics seventh heaven or one of their verb plugins? Or is it the other way around? Their sale is also coming up and not sure which company to go with. Assuming pro r is more of a one trick pony(?), also not sure of all the difference between bricasti vs algorithmic reverbs but curious what you all use in mixes primarily.
