Hello! I know this is the deals thread but you all seem to have the best perspective on some of these things in my honest perspective. I have a good bit of brass virtual instruments; the ones included in komplete, to musio’s/cinesalmples selection, to a couple of the “fire” horns from soundpaint.. while they’re for sure inspiring to score large cinematic pieces (primarily in my case), i can’t seem to get them to sound/respond the way I want them to. guess I’ve been looking for something in a bit of a smaller room & a little more geared towards songwriting where the brass is more “the focus” if that makes sense. If I had to assign a genre, I think either using either reggae or ska as an example would work for what I’m looking for: up front, articulate/responsive, and can handle realistic runs as well as staccato without the legato making it sound funny and/or synthy. Are there any kontakt libraries or other vst’s you’d recommend? Otherwise if there are any general tips anyone has to make virtual horns in this type of context sound more realistic, I’m all ears ?

They said in the livestream that with musio 1, you will get updates to the current instruments forever including updates to its relative keyswitching and their mic positions (whenever those are released). But future instruments released 2024 & beyond will only be included with package upgrades: musio 2, musio 3, 4, etc. concurrent with Kontakt’s version scheme, so another 299 for each update when they come out. That said this first round of musio is a stacked lineup so it’s hard to imagine what more the future holds, but i’m sure they’ve got some goods on the way that haven’t been announced yet. The timeline makes sense though, and the lifetime deal they referred to as an investment in the long term growth of the product which is already looking pretty promising imo

Or sounds like realphones in a way ??♂️ -
It’s a bummer that some people might not get to fully experience, or even spend the time fully appreciating my songs because they can tell either one track (or the mix) was compressed with a gray model la2a, and not a silver model. Or the other way around. I guess that’s the production world though. Gotta catch em all

Dumb question but anyone else not get the email it’s supposed to send when you click “download today” at the bottom. Refreshed and reclicked it maybe 5 times, checked my account email to make sure it’s associated to the right one, nothing yet

How does this compare to wavesfactory trackspacer? Is it better/worse, any different?

Still using the ERA bundle often for noise removal among some other things. Still curious what meta is cooking buying out a (seemingly small) plugin company for that much

Automix is a free AI tool that will mix your music for free
dumbquestions replied to satya's topic in Deals
This. There’s a reason for being able to choose a specific frequency to boost or cut, having all the knobs on a compressor, how it all feeds into other plugins like a limiter; attack, release, thresholds, etc., same with settings on reverbs like decay and room size parameters. I’m of the more optimistic school of thought that it’s going to get more luxurious to even have access to these creative customization options as access to producer tools continues to become more simplistic over time. that said. I will 100% of the time go for a slow pour-over rather than the instant coffee -

Not sure if it’s related but this took me a while to figure out. whenever they release a new version of an instrument, the download icon reappears next to the instrument again, this initially made me think something went wrong and needed to reinstall, but in order to load the libraries already installed you have to click the version number of the instrument to load the version you have installed already. It’s not very clear and almost tricks you into updating the instrument without realizing you don’t necessarily need to (which i did a few times). again that may not even apply since idk what happens yet when you try adding keyswitching, but FWIW this is something I wish I knew early on to save time
-
that sounds like the worst. I originally had to DL my libraries across multiple days, bc of my less than stellar internet connection. I actually have yet to add the keyswitching since i’m away from the computer for a few days. May hold off on updating now though when I return.. I wonder if that’s happening across the board for everyone and if it’s just something they’ll address in a future update
-
Also looks like they finally added articulation keyswitching. I have the original intro deal and haven’t had any ragrets so far

I found a lack of 3/4 rhythms in NI’s libraries, but i could be mixing it up with their electric guitar ones, (so i could stand corrected there). That said id hope this had a good selection of 3/4 + 6/8 like the description says. on another note, does anyone understand how APD reward dollars are used? It says I have $40 in rewards but no idea how or if i can apply them to an order (this product for example)?

What was your experience?

Awesome, feel like that’s all I needed to know thanks! Was eyeballing a couple of their native plugins as it is so I may go the route you described

Dumb question that may have already been answered but that’s why i made this account in the first place.. preface—I don’t own any UAD physical interfaces, nor do i have any of their plugins. With that I’m not familiar with their way of things, though it sounds similar to PA or waves? (Have most of their plugs) The dumb question: Am i too late for this sale or is it still possible to get a free/cheap first plugin (that doesn’t require an interface) from them with a combination of codes? Just saw one working code listed but may have missed one

I think i misinterpreted this as a harmony engine at first. Trialed this a while back and it’s neat for chorus-y and stereo tricks, but couldn’t figure out how or if it’s even possible to get it to lock pitched harmonies (created within the plugin) to the key/scale of the audio source. You can adjust octaves and detune the source, but i couldn’t find use for putting it on a vocal, unless the intention is making multiple copies of the same audio source to fly around the stereo field for a chorus effect which can get phase-y. Otherwise any pitched harmonies deviate from the keys within the scale as different notes are hit. Maybe I’m wrongly comparing it to antares harmony engine, but one of the tabs in density say “multipitch” and the website says it “allows harmonization like a choir,” so I may have just misinterpreted the purpose. Would be cool to see them add key locking
