The upgrade from V8 to V9 on release was $99. People who did that do now get MiniFreak for $49. People who are still on V8 get the upgrade to V9 + MiniFreak for $149 right now. I'm assuming the upgrade to V10 will be $199 from V8 and $99 from V9, so if you upgrade/get MiniFreak early now, you're paying a little "early adopter" fee. Seems fair to me.

They said they could create a custom query for me for USD169 /EUR144 / GBP119. It's 169 EUR new. Pass. Not paying a penny for what should be freeware or a single $29 plugin anyway. Maybe I'll have a look at their other stuff.

You are right and I apologise. Aligner isn't useful to me personally, but I shouldn't speak for others. Also, I just realised I got the Focus Elements bundle with the voucher last year, and I just asked support if there's an upgrade path to the full bundle, because the "offers" in my account only show upgrades to the individual products which comes out as being more than buying the bundle outright.

I was talking about the freebie, but I'll play. I've tried Stereoizer and found the free Ozone Imager to do exactly the same thing equally well. Also, the other stuff in the Focus bundle seems like extremely simple stuff bloated up with fancy GUIs and sold for premium prices. Apart from that, I feel indifferent towards the company. They seem to do post production stuff well, so I'll leave that to the actual professionals.

Hype on Cherry Audio? There's no such thing. Pretty sure the general consensus is they make average sounding cheap synths for people who don't know better or just don't care enough about sounds that will mostly be buried deep in a mix anyway. Personally, I own almost all of their stuff (for some reason ?) but have never used them in anything. This might change with the GX-80 that seems to be on par with Arturia or GForce at least, but still quite a bit away from Xils or u-he level.
