  1. Very clean and natural sounding IIRC. If you're already well-stocked, you probably don't need it - I have so many that I forget I have it sometimes! But when I pull it up, I always like how it sounds.
  2. I don't know if it's 'better,' but it sounds great! I have a *lot* of great verbs (all the UADs and Relabs, IK etc) and this one is still pretty special.
  3. Ooooooh I still have a hardware SY85 and have been tempted by this many times! Can I resist?!
  4. If you did the VSL survey and got the voucher, a couple of the Big Bang Orchestra percussion libraries end up being $35-40 USD which ain't bad!
  5. I love Klevgrand, but 'best jazz drums ever' is a big claim just a couple of weeks after Toontrack's Jazz SDX dropped!
  6. Perhaps this is a stupid question, but I bet others have it as well. If you already have the constituent parts in plug-ins from UA (610pre, LA-2a, 1176) then is there any reason at all to consider adding this? It's something I'd *love* to have in hardware form for tracking, and if I had an Apollo I might jump on this. As a Satellite-based peasant who owns a bunch of UA plugs already, though, I'm not sure this offers much. Apart from being a shiny new toy, of course. And I love those.
  7. Reaction here is...uh, somewhat different to that over at VI: Control!
  8. I have Virhamonic, Embertone Blakus, and Tina Guo 1+2. The Virharmonic is by far my favourite, and IIRC, the Tina Guo has a very restricted note range.
  9. He must have a server farm that would put Google to shame!
  10. But will they finally have bothered with sweep/swirl midi?! If it's there this could be real winner for me.
  11. I installed the beta of REV6000 last week (I'm a bundle owner and they kindly 'upgraded' me from the VSR24, though apparently that crossgrade had ended ages ago). Was extremely impressed and can't understand why the official release has been so delayed.
  12. I mean, not to me personally. But I'm intrigued... https://www.guitarworld.com/features/ik-multimedia-tonex-one-nano-amp-modeler-pedal-platform
  13. Haven't seen any buzz about the two new uprights. Kinda curious about those suckers.
  14. So, you're using Richter on a project now, right? Let me know how it is so I can pine after it from afar, knowing I do not need it and almost certainly would not use it.
  15. I used to love coffee from Intelligentsia in Chicago when I lived in the US.
  16. https://vstbuzz.com/deals/50-off-hammers-waves-acoustic-by-skybox-audio/ $89USD and Kontakt Player compatible. Well worth it!
  17. Worth searching this subforum for recent posts with Microsoft or Windows in the title. I used one of the Groupon links that was posted in the last 2-3 months, I think.
  18. Not gonna lie, my first thought on hearing the demos was 'meh.' The more melodic stuff sounded pretty good, but for conventional use (e.g., part of a trio or quartet), I just thought it sounded like someone playing a bass part on a rompler.
  19. Pretty pricey though once converted out of Sterling! I'm holding out for a sale on the new Kawai Shiregu library from PremierSounds. Until then, all pianos are verboten!
  20. The developer is excellent, @PavlovsCat. I have their Atelier/Austin trumpet, sax, and clarinet. I don't use them much because for the mellow jazz sorta stuff I like, StraightAheadSamples is hard to beat. But with SAS, the wonder happens when you activate SmartDelay, so just playing in on a keyboard isn't necessarily much fun. The strength of Musical Sampling instruments like this is that you can just noodle and it will sound really good. With that said, all the scripting in the world won't stop an oboe from being an oboe, so I'll be passing on this. The library I'd like to try out from Musical Sampling is Soaring Strings, which often goes on sale for $129. Check out the 'Commanding the fleet' demo. It's stunning, and probably the best product demo I've ever heard.
  21. Don't know if I need this (actually, I'm pretty sure I don't), but I *really* like their stuff. What cheapy gets me there best, anyone? ?
