  1. I see a massive difference - depends on which expansion pack you are talking about ? The recent ones are especially amazing. I don't find MODO drum to be particularly good either ? horses for courses probably
  2. yes - the Groove Agent expansions are not up to the standards of other drum samplers. I agree they are slightly more powerful than the NI products, although I actually think the NI abbey road stuff sounds ok. I've quite a few of the GA drum expansions but they never see the light of day.
  3. for the full (non LE version) they have the lot https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/unsupported_products/cubase/downloads_c4.html I thought the LE version was on his disk image too ?
  4. all that stuff is on the website: https://www.steinberg.net/index.php?id=14790&L=1 even older stuff is on the FTP site: ftp://ftp.steinberg.net/ considering C4 LE came out in 2006 I don't think that's too bad and I'm not sure what else they can do ?
  5. agreed - I found it very buggy ...haven't bothered to revisit it either.
  6. I'm in the UK so support is taken care of by SB HQ in Hamburg. In over 30 years of using their products (time flies) I've never had one useful response to a 'technical' or bug related issue. In the main they are just ignored or closed...or better still they tell you to reinstall and close the ticket. In contrast, customer service issues have always been dealt with very efficiently. I suspect they don't have the budget or enough (any?) competent tech staff to actually deal with the vast number of tickets that are submitted. They 'could' handle this far more effectively via their forum ...but they are very reluctant to actually do that in a meaningful way. Having said that, the issue is very dependant on the product. The Dorico forum is amazing well supported by actual knowledgable staff - as is the Spectralayers and Wavelab forum. That's because these dev teams are separate entities and are much more highly engaged.....anyway totally off topic
  7. where (and what?) are these 'free' instruments .......?
  8. Steinberg 'technical' support is still non existent but I always thought that customer support for licences etc was ok.. Obviously I don't know what happened in your case.....
  9. posting to remind people that these are pretty ancient packs...and technology has moved on a long way..... just sayin'
  10. have you shared these over at the steinberg forum ? (you should)
  11. maybe - (his Dad is Nicky Henson ..think Fawlty Towers) - but remember that lots of actors don't actually use their real names so it's not always as simple as you might think
  12. Impossible say if it's worth waiting .....but there will definitely be a future deal. AT5 is good but I'm not sure I'd want to pay £340 for it. I'm sure @cclarry will be along later to say when the best deals will be available based on his years of experience.........
  13. and Una Stubbs' son (probably means nothing to non-UK forum members......)
  14. I actually think there are a lot of those $29.99 (=$9.99) plugins are worth having - so not a bad post christmas gift after all ?
  15. Merry Christmas from a not so sunny London - and here's to an amazing 2021. Keep safe everyone and thanks to everybody, especially Larry, for being such a great and friendly bunch
  16. anybody used this ? the granular part is just a spitty mess when I try to use it ....?
  17. agreed.......they are not know for their generosity !
  18. I'm just an Arturia fanboy :)
  19. true so not really a fair comparison ? but if you pick it up as part of a bundle etc etc
  20. or just buy the arturia one ?
  21. haven't tested it yet but all the Arturia stuff is first rate - last years reverb freebie was great too......
