  1. thanks - I think I'll say put
  2. I'm still on V1, which seems to work perfectly - any advantage or reason to update to the V2 ?
  3. BFD3 is definitely 'usable' - it just still a bit too buggy for me and the their authorisation system is truly miserable. Some of the BFD expansions have small glitches and sampling errors too. Toontrack are bringing out updates and expansion all the time - BFD.....more or less never. Promised fixes never seem to materialise. Classic InMusic. I think the question is do you buy into it as a 'new user' ? We all know that InMusic have a terrible reputation and that seems to be true for BFD too. Who knows what the future will bring ? I understand that BFD4 isn't too far away, although in InMusic/BFD terms that could be years. It's obviously a matter of opinion if you think BFD3 sounds better than SD3 - personally I find the later TT expansions to be far better than anything in BFD3, but others disagree
  4. I think you've been lucky - lots of people having all kind of issues and I randomly lost all my authorisations a couple of days ago, despite them being refreshed a few days earlier. Lots of promises of fixes but progress is painfully slow or non existent. They have had over a year to sort this out. I also question why you have to register on a forum, make enough posts to enable the PM function, then message a random member of staff to be able try to get support. Why can't regular support fix this ? Inmusic tend to be the place where software goes to die and at this stage I see nothing to suggest that BFD is any different, despite Drew's efforts. Anybody buying into BFD needs to be aware of that........it's a real shame
  5. looks like it's now VST3 for those who care. Hopefully SD4 around the corner, just as soon as they finish EZKEYS 2 (?)
  6. as per the RC-20 update thread - nope, they are two busy to release change logs
  7. yes, they used to but they've basically given up https://www.xlnaudio.com/support
  8. I'm sure we will see some overlap of the technology. And as you say, more likely from Izotope > NI..... I always get the feeling that the NI FX plugins are 'legacy' now. My concern is how they integrate the upgrade paths between the two companies. The NI is pretty straightforward but Izotope neve seem to know what you have when the offer 'deals' and most of your 'personal deals' are for stuff you already own. .....even though all your products are listed in the account. How this is going to work when you factor in NI, probably just more chaos, for several more years.
  9. maybe some Izotope stuff ?
  10. very true - they haven't been updated for many years and I think it's very unlikely to happen. Maybe they will release a (paid for) v2 ?
  11. I think we'd be venturing too far into politics to comment further on what was said, suffice to say, if you'd like an attack-phase boost then I'm sure investing in this product is perfect.
  12. release notes: Waves Central: New Version (V13.0.15) Logging in to Waves Central is now done in the web browser.
  13. no politics on this forum of course....but worth doing some background checking on the views of the developer. There was a very revealing, now deleted, thread over at gearspace where some very 'interesting' views were expressed. then you might question on the motivation to release an "ATTACK-PHASE BOOSTING" plugin at this moment in time. just sayin' ?️

    Time and space down ?

  15. I think they are trying to make it as fool proof as possible. Remember that not everyone is on windows and that not everyone remembers where they installed it.
  16. I'm seeing other issues with the updates on windows too - unfortunately support seem to have gone on vacation
  17. last try the people that were mentioned in the Steinberg forum can fix that for you - They are senior Steinberg employees, they have elicencer account level access, they can see when licences were activated, what went wrong and fix it for you.
  18. I know you shouldn't have to but I really recommend you post your issue over at the Steinberg forum - it's possible, maybe likely, that you'll never hear back from SB support
  19. please update if you get any info. It's seems a really big coincidence that your dongle dies at the same time as lots of other people have issues ? It's probably worth having a spare anyway although the dongle has limited life nowadays - even for VSL. Steinberg can activate your new dongle with the old licences too - a bit like the ilok zero-downtime thing. worth a try I swapping it out but try in your laptop first !
  20. yes - it looks like @Tim Smith is being looked after. The forums are odd - they are very definitely described as 'user to user forums' and most definitely described as 'NOT official support forums' but the fact remains they are the pretty much the only way to get any support. They could structure them so much more effectively....using the Dorico sub-forum as their guide, that works really well. Providing support is expensive and Steinberg don't like it. They are stuck in a very 20th century mindset when it comes to their customers. As I've said many times - I'm a Steinberg fan but I'm also exasperated by their management decisions.....and I'm not the only one.
  21. I don't disagree with anything you say - it's totally unacceptable. I still think that 'eventually' SB will sort you out but in the meantine can I suggest you do the same thing that I suggested Tim should do and post your issue at the SB forum. I know you shouldn't have to but realistically it's the best way to get support in this 'total meltdown' situation.
