hey thanks barry! glad you checked it out. i def am inspired by early 70's, more for the performance aspect than the recording aspect, but there is a lot to learn there.. that was where stereo was really coming into play, and they were trying new stuff, a lot that seems to have been less used now.

ha! paul, i really should dedicate one of my guitars to slide and get on with it! but i almost never practice it, and chide myself for not doing so every time i decide i really want to play some slide! who knows, maybe NOT practicing, keeps things melodic and simple. food for thought. thanks for listening, and commenting, i appreciate it.

thanks so much allan!

Thanks for coming back to check it. Its good getting the last minute feedback. I have Waves Curves I can use if I need ducking, but I prefer to fix issues in the mix with changes in Eq and panning.

hey subvibe, thanks for listening and commenting. the mix isn't thin, or overcompressed, the compression i use is very transparent, and i put across in multiple locations so there's never a buildup.. but the mix could be off. i remixed it, and brought the vox up a bit, and changed the eq on it, so it sits in a different range of eq. complemented that on the acoustic guitars. i'll tell you, it IS a big difference when the opening electric rhythms are playing the dual slide parts, but then drop out when the vox comes in... so i changed that part of the mix too, and i think it should sit better now.

This is the 1st song i've finished on my remix of "The Wild Animals" album. new tracks, performances, mix, and appropriate timing! heh "Worlds Goin' Down" https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/track/worlds-goin-down

No race this weekend... But. You can hear the race! Heh

thanks joad! yes, this one was fun to track guitars on... i got to play with several amp and speaker cab combos, try gain with the amp alone, and pushed with the pedal.. i love having the Iridium, i just reach up and twist a few knobs, like a real amp, and get immediate reaction.

Hey chaps! Interesting, Blackfoot, I'm from Jacksonville originally. And knew a lot of those southern rockers, so yea. Maybe there's some influence in there@ I was a bit skynrd fan too... Thanks for listening

HEY T BOOG! thanks for listening. what would my guitar sound like on a 'phone speaker'?! i would imagine it would sound like an angry carpenter bee. LOL so, this is the guitar rig:

trying to channel that racing energy... if you know about silverstone, especially the really WET one they had a few years back, there is a lot of stop and go, so that's in there too!

https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/track/silverstone-2025 well the new F1 season has started, and i decided to update mixes of my 'F1 Trilogy', the first of three, with the song 'Silverstone', which is the about the british grand prix. this is a completely new mix from scratch. i'm trying to create imagery of intense high speed car racing with the mix. tell me i did ok!! LOL

HOWDY HO PAUL~ thanks so much for the comments those drums, i used superior drummer 3, built a custom kit (i think the basis was the room of Hansa "Marble Room" kit (i hand tuned everything, used the superior mixer, and output to a simple drum buss (i typically add a pultec type EQP-1A for a bit of 60 hz push, and maybe 5k-8k on the high end, maybe 1 db., then i add a parametric eq and carve the low end for clarity.) https://www.toontrack.com/product/the-rooms-of-hansa-sdx/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjZryypzfiwMVKRatBh2UmCHOEAAYASAAEgLmWvD_BwE

hey kevin!! so glad you heard this one, this one was inspired! LOL, unfortunately.... i did the guitars on this with my new custom made Tele, thru a marshall sim using the strymon iridium.

Thats not the plugin making the noise! You have to manage your gain staging. A lot of folks drop the ball on this aspect
-
i hear no apparent noise using this plug.
-
that's a great eq!

THIS SEEMS TIMELY FOR A BUMP, i think i've dialed this mix in now.

i dig the hcomp, use it often. my favorite comp from Waves, tho, is the g series SSL comp.
