Nice songFreddy. I didn't pick up on any guitar overlap issues. I have met a few of those "Black Hole" personalities myself. You have a great way for saying that here. The mix itself seemed ok for this kind of retro sound. Elements seem blended into a warm reverb making the sounds more jelled together than crisp.. Though I kept thinking maybe you might have a single vocal in places. Keeping the vocals effects in throughout was a different approach. Thanks for sharing this! Always like to hear what you're working on.

Your music clearly takes me to good places. These acoustic arrangements fill out the sonic space well and don't need anything else. The vocal parts are blended to perfection. This showcases your most excellent guitar playing where it is exposed the most. Those guitars are sweeeet!

I'm sorry to hear of the misfortune there and hope it gets sorted and recovery goes well. Never heard of the sine wave idea. Works nicely here and sounds like a low bass drone which technically I guess it is. I get a feeling of melancholy with the combinations of piano and strings. This definitely has some tension in it that works well with the ideas behind it. Thanks for sharing!

This is the way I do it as well....so that's a lefty thing?.....never knew that. More to the point I mostly just play music which goes into the DAW.

I used mine more when I was in the field to take pics of serial and model numbers. Saves a load of time writing it all down and as you say, it can be blown up larger on the phone. I have found myself in some really odd positions taking those pics though. I purposefully own two pairs of glasses. My main issue is seeing fine detail up close. My distance vision is ok. One pair is bifocal and I wear them any time I'm not at a computer. I ordered glasses specifically for computer with radiation protection and they are made especially for the distances at that task. Being on a computer all day can get pretty tiresome. No need for it to be harder than it has to be. They weren't cheap glasses but I'm glad I bought them.

I decided to delve into Jazz dance for this one. Had fun playing the piano on it!

This is great work. Has that Hollywood feel to it. Would fit well with lots of different video scenes.m I especially liked the light touch on the strings pizzicato. The bells were a nice touch! Thanks for sharing.

You have the mix dialed in well here. I liked this within the first 5 seconds of the song. You maintain that vibe throughout which further serves to solidify the feel of it. Liked the guitar solo which I think fit very well into this. You have that "good ole' boy" vocal that will resonate well with anyone who likes this kind of music. Thanks for sharing and congrats on it.

I enjoyed the retro sound this has. Even though it has a 60's Beatles vibe to it I pick up clearly on the individuality in it as well. The mix is subjective and i might have done a few thing you did differently. I will let it at that because one isn't better than the other in this case. That 60's music wasn't made the same as modern music.

The pre release reminds me of Apple when a new iphone comes out........it's hype and people eat it up. Anticipation. Similar to IK's new reverb. It's all good though. Part of me likes to be surprised. The other part of me is like, " Just put the darned thing out and cut the BS".

Good luck John. Let us know how it goes. Something I recently tried that worked well with regard to drums I'll share here just in case it's useful. This works best with music that uses strict drum patterns. Put a patch point on your metronome channel and tie it to an audio track. Arm said audio track. Record metronome. Now add drum replacer to that track. You now have a half decent kick drum in perfect time. Alternatively drag recorded metronome track into a midi track using Melodyne. Now you can trigger anything with it. Add something like Boz Sasquatch if you are into rattling windows three blocks away. Just sayin' Way faster than programming a sequencer IMO.

If I was a wagering man I would probably put some money on bitflipper's response. Part of me is hoping it is a synth because we know it would be a darned good one. I have their Pro-Q and love it. I don't now why but compressors don't interest me as much. One or two good ones and I'm good to go. Good limiters are important because we don't want bad limiters. Analysis and mastering I can always use. Most probably have a few already so it might be a hard sell, especially when you can get EXPOSE for a pittance and SPAN for free. I find all of the standards sometimes confusing. LUFS, DB, the K system.....probably more out there. It would be nice to have a program that measures them all without the need to look at presets. Just does it pass or not? Ozone and a few more show you whats on the screen. I'm talking about something that sends a pop up that says, I don't know what you just did but stop Whoa there buddy....you went a little over that LUFS . I know! How about a meter that shows a color range system that compares ALL of the standards at once and lets you know if you have strayed from the fold. Red means red. Green means green. That sort of thing.

I has codes. Some of these are priced up there and I probably wouldn't touch them otherwise.. If I am reading all the fine print correctly, I might just have to look more into this. I don't generally deal with PA though I have already.

I have this. Great tool especially for movie tracks. The only thing I thought was odd is percussion or drums are mapped to the far right on the keyboard. Not sure if this is because I'm a lefty but it feels totally unnatural to me to have it there. As a pianist rhythm is always on the left hand (the lower notes). You can likely remap it. I haven't had the time to see.

I agree. The notation features were largely seen as a back end addition or something that shows notation to an already composed work. Lots of users use the PRV instead. If you only compose in notation I can see where this would be an issue since compared to the better notation programs it is very basic. One option is to use MuseScore which is free and compose using the soundfonts, then export back into Cakewalk as midi for more serious DAW work. It is possible to put something together in Cakewalk's notation feature though there are certainly limitations.

Had the Firetube Studio until it eventually died on me. This looks like a very nice value and I'm sure well designed for Studio One. I would buy another Presonus interface without batting an eye if I needed one.
