  1. I've been thinking about getting some electric guitars, and for me it was a toss up between these, and the Ample Sound ones (when they go on sale). I've got a few Ample Sound acoustics that I like and am thinking that their electrics are pretty much the same (in terms of programmability, etc). The OTS ones sound really great too though. Does anyone have any opinions about the AS vs OTS electric guitars? e.g. is either maybe more programmable/realistic sounding, or maybe is one better at strumming sounds, etc?
  2. From my understanding, S1 is made by some ex-Steinberg employees who had worked on Cubase so they probably know roughly how it works to recreate the best bits of it. However, I would doubt it's exactly the same engine.
  3. Brian just spelled UTTUTTUTTTUTT in Morse code - wonder if it's a secret message?
  4. I considered getting one of those a while ago (there was a discounted promotion for something), and then I found out about the Linnstrument and I couldn't decide which would be better; then I realised Studio One doesn't support MPE (but Cakewalk does), and that it's probably overkill for what I do anyway. Will still be interested in hearing your opinions of the ROLI though.
  5. I've never tried so this might be a really stupid suggestion, but doesn't the built-in Windows game-recording thing do so?
  6. If it's anything like their last free offerings, it'll be around six sounds or something Maybe the sounds of the indicator lights blinking That said, free is free, so I'm not complaining
  7. If you can't be bothered to reinstall, a symbolic link might work - you move the actual directory, but create a link to it in its place: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/mklink
  8. All of a sudden, I no longer feel I have that much stuff... ? I know exactly what you mean
  9. That's what I used to think... then I had to buy a new samples drive shortly after a 'few' libraries
  10. I've read articles saying the transition will be smooth, and then I think about how some companies are still releasing a new patch to support Catalina. Being able to run your DAW on an iPad Pro sounds cool, but something tells me performance will be less than that when running on your 18-core Mac Pro (or whatever its called; sorry - not a Mac user/fan). Don't get me wrong though - it sounds like an impressive project and hope it goes well.
  11. Got me at first too. The secret is that double-clicking renames a preset (as you say), but clicking the space to the right of the preset name lets you change preset.
  12. I've downloaded a demo and have started playing with some presets - am I right in thinking this is more like an arpeggiated phrase generator, than a synth (in the traditional sense)? (Don't get me wrong - it's very cool. The UI's just a bit too complex for me to know what I'm looking at)
  13. Decided to download a trial of this... Either they favour Mac users, or Macs have problems downloading files...

    CrispyTuner

When I first saw the name of this, I thought it was a guitar tuner ?
  16. The marketing team only got a demo version of the library and it only plays audio for one second before it needs restarting?

Mentioned Bottles already a bit earlier ? Good point about the try-packs though - guess I was trying to point out some typically unusual instruments that might add a new dimension
  18. Huge fan of Pianoteq, but I couldn't resist getting CineSamples CinePiano when I heard it
  19. I like how there's a message on the website actively encouraging you to use a ad blocker - completely the opposite from most other websites these days
  20. I don't have any of the TH-U series so someone correct me if I'm wrong in thinking: TH-U rigs are like AAS sample packs - if you buy a RIG pack, you can use it in the RIG player included in the pack that was bought (just like if you buy an AAS sample pack, you can use it in the free player); if you have TH-U Full, you can also open your RIG pack in that (just like if you have the full version of Chromaphone, you can play your Chromaphone sample pack in that)
