  1. Does anyone have any opinions on this one? Looks like a parallel compression effect, albeit with a friendly/simple-to-use UI.
  2. You can still use PayPal to pay, but back it with your credit card and choose to pay in a foreign currency. That way, the seller only knows about your PayPal account, but your credit card company does the currency conversion (which for me is slightly cheaper than PayPal's).
  3. Thanks for letting us know that such an order is possible Bryan: the majority of sites only allow a maximum of one coupon code per order, which I find to be annoying. It's good to hear that ISW allows more than one; they had great customer support on the previous occasions where I've needed help as well.
  4. I've always found the PayPal exchange rate to be more expensive than that for my credit card, and usually end up choosing to pay in a foreign currency.
  5. Ok... so... err... which are the right ums?
  6. I'm genuinely confused: I see some posts where people say they absolutely love Waves plugins and seem really excited when a sale comes round; and I also get the feeling that some people can't wait to abandon their Waves plugin collection. Could someone explain to me why if their plugins are as good as their reputation suggests, why do some people seem to want to get rid of them?
  7. If we ever find her, we have to ask how her garden grows; I wonder if it's true that there are silver bells and cockle shells.
  8. The only problem with that setup is... how do you get in/out?
  9. Please don't tell me Wally/Waldo decided to change more than just his name...
  10. Depends... You might get a frown if you try to buy a car using a pinch of salt; your meal might not taste better if you add a bucket of gold.
  11. Could someone explain to me how WUP works? If I understand correctly, it's conceptually a 'subscription' allowing you to update every plugin you have to the latest version. Is this for minor releases (e.g. 9.0 to 9.1), or just for major releases (e.g. 9.0 to 10.0)? Does Waves release a new version of every plugin every year?
  12. I've got this, and like it very much. Also don't forget you can get an additional discount if you own any of the other GEM plugins.
  13. Maybe they could try using imported instruments, instead of homemade ones?
  14. Downloading a demo now... Just in case anyone's using Edge as their browser, I'm having trouble getting the content file to download; it's fine in Chrome though.
  15. Anyone have any opinions about how this compares with other 'big' synths, e.g. Pigments/Massive X/Serum? It looks like it has more sound sources (oscillators/wavetables, etc) and chainable effects, but do these contribute towards making 'better' sounds?
  16. Same here for me to upgrade to FX2 Elite. However, make sure you check the price of BIAS Studio Platinum; that contains FX2 Elite. Too bad I have nothing to spare for this month...
  17. If you find Dimension Pro, you might find Rapture
  18. Seems like a great deal; think I'm going to go for the Slide Bundle, and Mesa Winds
  19. I agree, but I do wonder what the lyrics of my songs end up meaning (it's in Elvish); probably no more gibberish than the modern pop song though ? Cantus and Mystica are very good too.
  20. Some of the plugins do look interesting, but I have so many already that sound great to my ears. I always end up feeling guilty when I buy new plugins as I end up thinking at the back of my mind that there's something I'm not using.
  21. I stand corrected on the re-buy your licenses statement. Still seems slight off to me that you need to pay a ZDT 'insurance' for a potential hardware failure that could be beyond anyone's control (though I suppose it's the same with a e.g. fridge/car/washing machine).
  22. It's not really fair to compare iLok with a subscription scheme. I personally hate both. It's true that if your PC goes down or you want to use another one, you can relocate the iLok; if your iLok goes down, that's when you have to buy all of your software/plugins again. Not only that, you end up installing a few background services to use an iLok: if you're lucky they play nicely, and they probably do play nicely in most cases. I myself am perfectly happy that not every developer uses iLok.
  23. If my understanding is correct, Halion in Steinberg's competitor to Kontakt. My personal preference would be with Kontakt: last I read, Kontakt has a larger variety of libraries, and you don't have to bother with elicenser either. NI also occasionally offer some great deals on Kontakt library bundles.
