  1. Clicking on either link for me brings up a guide for choosing an acoustic guitar??? Maybe they realise the player is no longer supported?
  2. or if you're looking for a new synth, Wiggle's 80% off
  3. Though in this case, it's not just Kontakt 6; the latest free updates to Kontakt 5 including and beyond 5.8 are also not compatible.
  4. I mentioned this in the other thread, but in case anyone is thinking of going for the Concert Strings bundle, be aware of the following from the requirements page of Concert Strings 3 I'm not sure why it isn't compatible with newer versions of Kontakt, or what this means in general with respect to the upkeep of older libraries that are still being sold, but I personally chose to pass.
  5. I get that they have to make their subscription seem like good value, but some of the prices for their new plugins are ridiculous! It's possible to get plugins that are near indistinguishable in a blind test for so much less. I have to wonder how they make up these new prices.
  6. Hmm... was still fighting GAS with the Concert Strings Bundle, and then saw on the requirements page for Concert Strings 3. Disappointing that it won't work with more recent versions of Kontakt. Looks like I might win this battle with GAS after all.
  7. That makes sense. It bemuses me though that they don't do Labor Day sales outside of the US; they do Black Friday (if I remember correctly). I'm thinking it would generate more sales.
  8. A DAW with a name that very loosely sounds similar to that of a chain of chicken restaurants?
  9. From a conversion I did a little while ago, the Axe I/O would cost ~£400 after conversion and tax from IK; it's ~£365 from Amazon.
  10. Let us know what you think, and whether the difference is 'Night-and-Day'. If you get a chance to try it out, let us know whether it's good with XLR mics too please.
  11. Does anyone have any opinions on the Kirk Hunter Concert Strings? I've listened to a few demos: some sound quite good to me, some... not quite so good to my ears, so I have mixed thoughts. I already have GPO5, Miroslav (the first one), Cinematic Studio Strings, and CineStrings. I usually use them as either backings in pop/rock tunes, or upfront in movie-trailer-style pieces.
  12. In addition to that, I've previously heard another line of thought; if you have more than one, something's probably quite wrong ?
  13. I tried really hard to battle with my GAS on this one... and failed; they look like a fantastic set of effects.

    APD Extra $5 Off

    Thanks for the recommendation!
  15. Isn't this type of sale just asking for people to crash their website at midnight?
  16. Such a great idea; it even encourages someone to use their phone while driving! Disclaimer: do not use your phone while driving; it is a very bad idea
  17. Ah... that's why my food's so salty; I see the error in my ways now
  18. I've got an idea that I think will be really popular: a fridge, but with a door that's completely flush with no handle; it might have some mood lighting - it will look amazing. To open the door, you simply touch the button on the corresponding smartphone app.
  19. Let me see if I understand this: instead of taking a 'dumb' salt shaker in one hand and shaking it over your food; you can now hold a smalt in one hand, and a smartphone in the other hand, and you can shake your smartphone to make the smalt dispense salt onto your food. <sarcasm> I can really see how this makes things easier </sarcasm>
  20. Debating whether or not to go for this; I already have Audio Modern's Riffer. Riff Generation seems really cool, but is it locked to its own instrument/effects? Also, can each instrument be routed to its own output? (all of which is moot if the sale doesn't get extended)
  21. I'm not sure they are exactly the same; this page https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/maschine/production-systems/maschine/compare/ describes the mikro as having 'highly-sensitive' pads, whereas the full Maschine has 'ultra-sensitive' pads. Also the guy from https://questforgroove.com/ did a video comparing different pad controllers, and found that while very similar, the full Maschine had a better experience.
  22. I think I'd be more excited if they released a new Machine Mikro, but with exactly the same pads as the full sized Machine.
  23. If it's anything like the downloader 'installers' that I've used before, they may or may not work in future. Usually, I run them and let the full setup program download. When the full installer starts, you can use Task Manager to find the file location (usually in a temp folder), and archive that file.
  24. And now I'm imagining the voice of Kiefer Sutherland saying 'the following did not take place between October 10th, 1582; and October 11th, 1582', like at the beginning of an episode of 24.
