Yes sir. Im absolutely sure this will help alleviate some of the problems your having due to trying to click in the Timeline. I know it has for me and ive been dealing with the same thing. Yup. understandable. we all make custom changes to our shortcuts to fit our needs. Some of those Shortcuts though, are better left untouched.

Funny I don't know what your referring to either... CNTRL+SHIFT+A Clears the selection = Select none. Not Add audio track. Its also a Windows shortcut- CNTRL+A = Select all / CNTRL+SHIFT+A= Select none.

I would still like a way to turn off selection in the timeline. I love the new features. I love cakewalk and there's not much I don't like about these wonderful updates. but there is too much going on in the timeline to make accurate clicks, having to cycle through Green/Select - Yellow/loop - punch/red. I know the tab key, but I can barely click on a marker without hitting that "double sided arrow / S in the timeline. my work around now is to use CNTRL+SHIFT+A to de-select all, then I am able to make accurate clicks. EDIT- I would like to say, you cant please everyone all the time, so im not complaining per say. I'd just like a way to work like I did in previous versions where clicking in the timeline was a bit simpler.

Looks almost exactly like Cakewalk, with the addition of holding down CNRL

Sending output to two audio devices simultaneously
chuckebaby replied to Keith Wessel's question in Q&A
What devices are you using ? You basically need two devices with two separate headphone jacks. It may be difficult to establish which headphone outputs receive which signal, volume in a monitor mix. It would probably make more sense, be easier (routing wise) to just use a headphone splitter. -
Metronome and Melodyne record timing bug
chuckebaby replied to Murray Webster's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Yup fixed here as well. Very happy. No more out of synch while transport is moving. -
Is it possible to use markers in collaboration with Snap to landmarks ? I do use set measure beat, but often its for musical compositions that are synched to the grid/timeline, thus making it easy to select (Example- 21:01.00) data points. Is it possible you haven't had a project this technical before ?

I may actually be more confused after reading this ^^ then your initial OP. how is the "S" in the timeline blocking Aim assist ? Aim assist will move with the mouse in TV. you don't have to be in the timeline. You cant turn it off, you can only incorporate the use of shortcut Cntrl+Shift+A into your workflow. There is another thread with a similar topic here. I personally don't really feel like expressing my thoughts twice on this issue in two separate threads. But I will leave you with this quote from that thread..

I think you meant CTRL+Shift+A

To be honest I've run into this problem myself. Im not really a big fan of it and wish there were a way to turn it off. But, I also haven't put forth the effort of using it my workflow yet, so it would be unfair of me to just say its useless. Ive been using CNTRL+SHIFT+A to deselect all, this allows me to have instant access to the timeline using the nowtime with out obstruction. 1 shortcut wont kill my workflow.

Aim assist is the fuzzy little line NowTime is used to navigate through the TimeLine. As an alternative- Try using CNTRL+SHIFT+A to clear your selections before moving the nowtime to your beat/measure markings in the timeline.
-
I believe your referring to selection as in the green arrows in the timeline ? Aim assist ? not sure. you might be talking about the NowTime.

you might want to explore Clip grouping. https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR X3&language=3&help=Arranging.22.html

Is there a track delay feature in Cakewalk?
chuckebaby replied to Trevor's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Channel tools still ship with Cakewalk ? Been a while since I checked. Channel tools is a great plug in. Makes a dull sounding instrument pop right out at ya. C-Tools and the Vocal strip used to be those "go to" plug ins I couldnt live with out. -
Yea I wouldn't say an overhaul. Because many of us have worked years to become familiar with these shortcuts. but this PRV/TV focus things definitely needs to be considered. Im with you, I hate clicking in an area to set focus, I know sometimes its necessary but it stinks. I do believe though that the focus thing is that way for a reason, im sure someone else might complain changing this will interfere with their way of working

Does your Focusrite driver installation require a handshake while installing ? Plug the USB cable into the same port as drivers were installed to. Also important... Make sure you are not plugging it into a USB 3.0 port. Use a USB 2.0 instead. Might even want to check your cable as well my friend. We'll get it and figure this thing out Its a like a puzzle with round pieces

Suddenly confused about Record/Playback levels
chuckebaby replied to Christian Jones's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Yes it does. Right. But toggling the Arm/Disarm REC button wont. that's what I was trying to say. I'll admit, I was probably being a little ignorant and didn't read your previous comment well enough. I read this.... And thought to myself what does this have to do with toggling the arm/disarm Rec button ? -
I believe your out of luck there jose. I believe I know what you want to do but it aint happening. Is it when you have focus in track view, you want to open PRV..but you need to click first in the PRV to change focus to the PRV ? And vice versa ? This has been an issue I have faced over the years as well, but we just aren't there yet. Hopefully someday we will. I see this most when switching from TV to PRV and I want to scroll, I first need to establish focus by clicking with the mouse before it will scroll.

Suddenly confused about Record/Playback levels
chuckebaby replied to Christian Jones's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
I agree with David here. I use a set up similar to your @Christian Jones. I run a Focusrite ISA ONE into a Focusrite 18I8. I use the ISA ONE as a pre amp/DI for tracking guitars. This does however call for the need to change the way my inputs on my interface are used. Not using the DI portion (I use that on the ISA ONA) and changing the inputs on the 18I8 to line (vs Mic). These should not change or effect the levels in sonar going through a VST like you mentioned where toggling it changes levels. unless you are using an AUX track to feed the signal from the plug in.
