Just give us a knob. A little dial we can click on. Call it the "Pitch module" and put it in the control bar with the rest of the surplus modules. Next to the knob we can have a place to enter values for precise pitch tunings. This feature would bring users together from all over the world, and if only for one moment, there would be forum peace.

Is it possible that IBM keyboard from 1982 is the root of some your issues ? Sorry but someone had to say it.

Forcing Cakewalk to release drivers after a crash
chuckebaby replied to Mánibranðr Studios's question in Q&A
I have had this happen in the past. it is very frustrating. What I found a shortcut to reboot is... - Instead of reboot which can require up to 60 seconds. - Use the Windows Log off function. - This does not reboot but logs off any user and their process running in TM. On a side note, I haven't had this problem in over 5 years. For me anyway, I traced it down to 2 possible likely suspects. -AMD chip set. (FYI- Your Roland SD-50 system requirements= Intel chipset is recommended) - A device with a corrupt, unstable driver. - A possible 3rd suspect was a plug and play device (M Audio oxygen 49). I was running this midi keyboard via USB, along with an Audio interface/control surface, running audio+midi USB. This did work in my situation but the next time I started cakewalk, my device was missing "no audio device detected". I would have to restart Cakewalk again and again, waiting for my device to be recognized. -
in my travels it has been a plug in (the source of a slow save). I would experiment with removing plug ins till you find the offender.

its not a problem, it just would have helped figure out what was going on a lot sooner.

If you still have a version of the song saved in its original form, I would upload it here. We can take a look at it and maybe see something that's been overlooked. Note- You don't need to upload audio. Just the CWP itself. That file should be very small in size.

This should have been the first thing you mentioned.

Have you tried lowering your latency ? It appears your roundtrip is almost 29 MS. This is high and may produce sluggish results.

More often than not it is related to Automation written on a track that exceeds the project end. It could be a hidden track, Bus automation, exc. This has been my experience anyway.

The transformation tool ?

If there is one thing I truly miss about the analog days was the ease of use... of a pitch knob.

I believe you can Shift+click the orphaned envelope to give it focus then right-click it and choose delete envelope. You can also right click/drag/lasso/runnerband nodes and then delete them.

Have you any Screens sets that are locked ?

Are you using a LENS/Workspace ? Try selecting "NONE" save your window layout, close/reopen.

Did you own Platinum ? and if so did you get the free "Unlocked DAW version from Overloud" when Gibson shut down ? I know that was causing some issues with users previously.

Melodyne Assistant vs. V-Vocal - Experiences?
chuckebaby replied to Colin Nicholls's topic in Instruments & Effects
V vocal doesnt even compare to Melodyne in my opinion. It has less stability issues (in newer versions of cakewalk/windows V vocal was boinky) Use it as a region FX and render your edits. i made this viedo a while back for newbies (i know your not a newbie) it might help with just the basics of Region FX. the Melodyne editor itself will take some time to grasp and learn but once you do, you will see why it is much better than V vocal was. -
Interesting and very original sounding. That bass just carry's the song right along but more over, what a great mix. kept me very interested. Great job.

another tune from the new bats brew album "The Wild Animals"
chuckebaby replied to bats brew's topic in Songs
dude your guitar work is fabulous ! always is. Think I've heard this before (gave you some shi@ about that 2 minute fade of yours) but hey no denying your guitar work BB. Off the hook riffs and awesome solos. Keep up the good work my friend. -
took a second listen, man this song is just waiting for vocals. Not really my style (im more into hard rock and metal) but wow, the lyric vocal arrangement potential is threw the roof. Great work.
-
Man that chorus that kicks in at 0:45 is rockin ! The tempo changes are a bit drastic but they fit/musically together very nicely.

Harmony's are great Randy. your voice is similar to another very talented singer I know. And that is... Mr Craig Anderton.
-
great horns man. Love the guitar solo too.

Yea, that's probably longer than the common HDD SATA drives life expectancy. You do bring up a valid point no doubt and its worth letting the end user know about its rewrite life span. I just haven't seen it yet. Now watch. tomorrow I will wake up with a dead SSD
