Thanks so much @Sabby Brown for taking the time to listen. Im no good at harmonies and how to structure them. If anyone would like to have ago... Ill send the tracks over.

Thanks @Douglas Kirby I have just added the instrumental(backing track) as my ears where too tired yesterday and hope I have fixed the reverb problem. There was too much Sunset Studio room.. so I have removed it all together. The reverb you hear now are from UAD Capital Chambers.

HI guys/gals, Could I please have your feedback on this mix for the track. There are no vocals as Im going to redo them as I had a problem with sibulence. I have added an acoustic guitar to this version. Thanks for the comments... and please rip it to bits. Cheers, Gary

Well done Fred. Fantastic mix here on my Focals.

WOW thats a lot of lyrics ? I also noticed a few clipping as those written above and agree also with the room choice. You have a great voice for this style of music.

Well done Amad.

Listened again to this on my Focals at 85db... reckon you nailed this mix ? Well done-

This was really nice mate. It would be great for a documentary. A few years ago I drove in my Land Rover from Norway and spent 5 weeks crossing the dessert with my son in Morocco: This would have been perfect for the video footage.

Brilliant... Love it! More defined! ?

Bass guitar Will take another listen I think the lead sax masks everything at the beginning (I am thinking like a vocal in a track and the sax is the vocal and could be dropped a litte) then I think the other instruments would pop.
-
Very nice... love the sax playing.,, and great frequency separation too. We all paint very different pictures,,, could the bass come up a little more?

Dont you dare retire from creating your stuff!! Ill come and kick you up the *****!!

When You're Tired Of Running - an experiment in 7/8 time
garybrun replied to Lynn Wilson's topic in Songs
What is weird is that these sort of time signatures do something to my brain and seems to irritate me, Anybody else get that? I like the guitar work and your vocal Lynn but I cant listen to it all. I remember thats how I felt when I first listened to Jessie's music.. but now for some reason I like it and have got used to it and can see the creativity in it. Need to try and listen more.. Gary -
I also thought Squeeze,

I must be old now... but remember that cartoon as a kid, Well done on matching the beat with the bricklaying and other areas.. very creative use of the video. I liked the female vocal a lot... very nice. Also the violin ... was very different and well played. All in all ... well done and great creativity. Take my hat off to you all. gary

Hi Ross. not my genre... but great vocals and well mixed. My personal opinion (we all paint different pictures) but dont be afraid of adding more punch to your drums. Chris Lord Alge would have a field day with your drums. Well done.

I dont think I have ever heard a song about this historic lady. you told her story well. I agree with theother comments you have been given. well done.. love the "first lady of the air"

Hi Jerry. You have great composing skills. I recognized the dune sound and very clever how you integrated it with traditional orchestration. If you are looking for a vocalist for collaboration I dont mind trying to help out. You can hear my voice and various posts on here... if I can be of assistance please send a pm. well done. Gary

HI Kim. Your mix is good. I am not trying to be big headed here... but I used to be a Pioneer DJ and worked for them for a couple of years. You need to get out of the repetition (too much) and also add more dynamics and add breaks up or down. You will not keep interest or your dance floor full. But take heart... its a good start. I suggest you listen to more tracks in your genre and listen too how they arrange them. Take a pen and paper and work out their breaks and dynamics and their structure... then apply it to your own music. not forgetting that you are unique... so dont have to copy... but this style of music has a sort of rule. Wish you all the best and good luck with your creativity,.
