MS will be ending the life of Skype (the business version originally called Lync). Teams will be taking over that functionality plus adding more (including some, in my opinion, childish memes and animated gifs).

You could also set yourselves up with Microsoft Teams. This will allow you to collaborate, chat, call (including, if you have a video camera and a strong stomach, video calls), but you can also screen share.
