I *do* know where #'s 13 & 14 come from though!  Sammy Davis, Jr. said in an interview once that they (the Rat Pack) would use the Cherry Lifesavers right before going on to make their tongues look red and healthy.  The assorted rolls were so they could offer one to others when they took a Cherry one for themselves.

There are countless ways of covering up a mistake so the audience doesn't know, if I gig long enough, I might learn them all.

I ended up with even more respect for Prince when I found out he somehow ended up playing the 2007 Superbowl Halftime Show with a guitar that had been tuned a half-step wrong!  He managed to bend every note to the correct pitch on the fly as soon as he realized it!  Dayum!!! 😮
