Korg Triton vst General MIDI Banks with Cakewalk?
John Vere replied to dalemccl's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
@msmcleod I read the info about the VST and it only talks about how the hardware devices were multi timbral It doesn’t really ever say the VST is. I guess easy to test by inserting the VST and see if there’s options for separate output tracks. If not then no point in using it as multi instrument anyway. -
Are you still trying to install the old version?

I play my part on my Yamaha bass and then drag the audio track to AmpleP bass instrument track. I use Melodyne Melodic. The midi will be an octave low. Transpose 12. I also find the duration is 1/32 to 1/16 too long so select all and drag back. Then I make all velocities 106. I Quantize I fix glitches and some notes to lock in with other tracks. I have over 300 backing tracks done this way as well as all my originals use either the Ample bass or Dim Pro Acoustic You can find my songs on all major streaming services if you want examples. I’m also on Sound Click So instead of redoing just try the convert to midi trick first. I can actually use my Yamaha and real bass audio but I find the Ample p bass sounds almost identical anyway and it gives me way more options to clean up minor errors as well as rock solid timing.

Ya one of those sort of obscure bands I loved. Great job. Especially the drums. You really captured that sound.
-
Looks like a lot of work went into that great job!
-
I was waiting for it to transcend out of Lofi but it didn’t.

Really good mix I found no flaws at all. Weirdly enough this reminds me of a Mexican group I love called Mana. They use same sort of instrumentation. And I can’t understand the lyrics but that’s not a problem if it’s great music! Good job.

Funny I was listening and as I read the other comments I laughed because that was exactly what I thought. The bass sort of sucks. Not sure what you are using but I would ditch it and find something else. I have found that the ample p bass lite is the best solution for my type of music. I do not have to process it at all. Otherwise great mix and the guitar parts make the song. Love the way they move around in the headphones

Having trouble creating a simple groove clip
John Vere replied to mark skinner's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
If you like that sound create a sample and play it from a sample player. I use Session Drummer for this but any sample player will work. Next has one built right in. I have a feeling it is going to be included with Sonar (I hope. ) Session Drummer is perfect for what you are doing as you can build a complete custom kit using anything even a cardboard box. It has a mixer and can output I think 10 tracks. -
Korg Triton vst General MIDI Banks with Cakewalk?
John Vere replied to dalemccl's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
The term multi timbral for VST instruments would imply as Byron is saying that the synth can play more than one instrument and each instrument uses a specific midi channel. TTS-1 can use all 16 channels The only other multi Timbral synth I have is the Air Xpand which can play 4 parts using 4 channels. Multi channel synths seem rare. -
44.1 will be fine as long as you don’t try anything that is video related. Videos are 48. Watch this video possibly something in it will help I converted all my projects to 48 over time. Midi only projects don’t require prep. But audio has to be exported as stems at 48/32 and brought back in after all the 44.1 tracks are deleted. I made a video about it but took it down as it didn’t get many views. I’ll see if I can find it.

It’s fine to post here. Same people read stuff. I would think you might have to spend some time reading the manual. It sounds like it’s similar to my Korg 05r/w it too has Combi mode which is the one I use the most because I can have I think 6 instruments. But then Program mode is the most powerful but only 1 instrument. There’s a 3rd mode for GM called Global Multi possibly you have that? -
I just had to look that one up None Discloser Agreement . So it's still possible I might get the invite I guess.

I can run multiple music related apps at same time. I only use 48 a sample rate which I set in all these apps. I Also set 48 in Windows sound settings and in same I uncheck the give this device exclusive control option box. The sample rate is the critical item as your interface can’t stream audio otherwise.

The OP might be out of the loop about the fact that you now need the latest and last release after they changed the server. Older version will not activate. There’s going to be more posts about this as time goes on.

There’s no shortcuts but it’s a simple mouse click to open the old insert track dialogue and it will insert where the cursor is.

I just went through this same mess short while ago. New machine everything slowly installed. Cakewalk would crash and then I’d use safe mode. But even that wouldn’t open certain projects. Real scary. I still had my old DAW running so I’d open same project and make notes. The crazy thing was I had actually installed most of the missing stuff?? This shouldn’t happen but it does. Cakewalk projects will ignore the plug in if it’s now in a different folder location. I had to re install the ones that were like that. Next issue was old DAW had both VST 2 and VST3 versions. New one I decided to use only VST3 if available. Big mistake. So had to re install those too. This was what I think caused crashing. Even after this Cakewalk now opens with out safe mode but has a list of missing plugs which of course are not missing. Easy fix is click on the bracketed plugs and use replace to then use the same plug. Problem is you loose all the settings. I’m going to sort that out by figuring out how to transfer from old computer. But most I have my settings memorized.

Why is my PRV suddenly behaving so sluggishly?

At the top of the track inspector is where you find the different views for it like pro channel, arranger and the tempo. It’s a metronome icon -

Labs I found Buggy. I like some of the sounds but I had some issues a while ago and narrowed it down. I didn't bother to install it on my new computer. -
Here's what I did. Just for those who think this is easy ? Drums- Hi Hat was not edited so quantize to 1/16, then adjusted the velocities. I also manipulated the overheads in AD. I added just a touch of hi EQ as well. Done. The snare, I converted the real snare to Midi, I still couldn't get want I wanted so I soloed and exported as a stem and brought back as audio track. That worked as I could now use a proper compressor, EQ. and reverb. Done. The rhythm guitars I hi Passed a little more and bumped them in the upper mid. Pushed level a touch. Done. The lead guitar I didn't think the solo was coming through, It is a 1964 Guild arch top one PU at Neck. Flatwounds. So I did a little editing, (found 2 bad notes.) I then ran it through the Focusrite Red compressor and that evened it out perfectly. Done. My voice track needed evening out, It was only meant to be a rough copy so I had not given it too much TLC. I think it works for the style of song so I fixed a few pitch issues and then used Gain to bring up and down the levels as needed. There was at least a 6db difference in some parts. This got rid of needing too much compression. I also swapped the CA 2A for the Red. I find this step is critical to get voice out front. Manual editing is better than Compression. Done. The real banjo I started hearing conflicts with the lead guitar. Being too lazy to dig it back out and redo it I converted it to Midi and used the Yojo banjo. This in the end was a better idea and it allowed me to match up the fills with the lead guitar better. Long live Midi! Done. I'll live with this version for a few days and see what you folks have to say as well as it still hasn't been run by the boss. Thanks once again to all your help, I really do appreciate it.

If you Open the midi file Cakewalk automatically inserts the TTS-1 and your midi file will play. If it is a GM midi file the correct instruments will also be assigned. This video explains how to use a pre made midi file. I have a few other videos that explain how to edit midi as well my playlist https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7YqVth30eGsURWrKGeu-fFyg3ETjF-Ox&si=0y1uOWy6ysV5tgVo
