  1. Not sure what your problem is but I downloaded Cabaret Medley, and it opens fine in Cakewalk with the TTS-1 - I just had to change the instrument to Bank 0 and the Accordion patch and then I had to lower the pitch by -36 because the notes where out of range by 3 octaves. Sound like a cheesy accordion song now, cool. If your not sure about using midi files you can OPEN any midi file with Cakewalk and if there are NO outputs selected in Midi devices in Preferences then the TTS-1 will load and play the file. I then opened it in PVR which quickly explained the lack of sound as I saw it was playing up in C 10 range. I have tutorials on using Midi if you wish to learn how to edit the files.
  2. 99% of the time when you change driver modes the master bus grabs the wrong output device. Check your master This is why I recommend always disable all the unwanted inputs and outputs.
  3. Like I say, my very limited observation with the disconnection issue. The 2 Controllers that have a Factory written Midi driver always connect. The Controller that uses a Generic Midi driver needs me to re boot Cakewalk to get it to connect. I should borrow a few of my Sons Controllers and see if my theory holds water. Interestingly the Roland driver was updated by Windows updates. That's nice. I no longer have to keep checking the web site for updates. Not that I ever did because Midi drivers are sort of off my radar most days. Then the Yamaha DX drum brain has a habit of falling asleep after only 10 minutes. So it's a good thing it reconnects without fuss. I need to get out the manual and fix that.
  4. There’s a thread on Theme’s that is a custom theme he’s using. https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/forum/31-ui-themes/
  5. I have observed this behaviour in the past. It’s like this for me- Roland controller has a Roland midi driver and can be turned off and on with out issues. It always works and this goes back 15 years Akai Controller uses a Microsoft generic midi driver and it requires I re boot Cakewalk or it doesn’t show. Yamaha DX drums have a Yamaha Midi driver and they behave just like the Roland. They can be turned off and on no problem. Conclusion is that factory supplied Midi drivers are sort of like Factory supplied audio drivers. They are better
  6. Ok so looks like you bought an Audio interface, Good. You should also watch any videos they have on their website and follow installation instructions carefully. Edit after reading what is below this.. And regarding the USB mike that is for Podcasting. You need a proper mike with an XLR cable. USB mikes rarely work with any DAW. Millions of threads on that topic. Now here's my Video on setting up audio interfaces. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2pnDOC7HEk
  7. Your sound settings should be found under the top icon which says Affichage I agree with Tim you have not followed anything from my video. You should be using WASAPI shared mode for starters. And as I said in the video disable all the junk you aren’t using for Cakewalk. I’m just working on a new video that is exclusively for on board audio users.

    Username and password

And just for general info. If all else fails you can simply create a new account using a different email. Cakewalk is free. The Project files are not part of the software install so will still be fine.
  9. It’s a screenshot of my video. Yes screenshots of all the audio settings would help even if not in English. But makes me wonder about what OS you are using if it doesn’t have a Sound settings tab?????
  10. And audio interface has good audio drivers. On board audio can work just fine but need to be set up properly Watch video # 1

    Tempo is wrong

    Did your sample rate change?
  12. Troubleshooting 101. Swap stuff out until the issue goes away. This can include The VST instruments The keyboard controller- try the virtual keyboard The usb cable USB ports. Even though you don’t think it’s a buffer issue it most certainly can be . Audio interface will certainly improve things in that regard
  13. Isn’t it great to be back on stage! Not only am I playing live again I’ve already been at 3 great festivals.
  14. To me this seems simple! open PVR and drag the notes back to the place you want them to stop sustaining? Also check there are no CC 64 on events at the end.
  15. I agree with @David Baay If a sound is mono then it should always be a mono track. If you accidentally recorded it in stereo the first thing to do is convert it to mono. Then the tracks pan control will be logical and controlling placement in the mix is straight forward

    Pause function

Far from it. Cakewalk is complicated and has a zillion hidden gems like these. You never stop learning
  17. Yes plug ins. It’s always a plug in. You might not have changed settings but you might want to see if you’re using a plug in you hadn’t used in the past

    Pause function

And don’t forget you can also use the CTRL/W. this toggles space bar behaviour between stopping in place ( pause) and rewind to where you started from.
  19. Did you turn on the phantom power? These videos contains lots of info about proper audio set up in Cakewalk 1-Audio Set up Complete instructions https://youtu.be/JM8rKHQ9GIo 20-How to set up an Audio Interface https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2pnDOC7HEk
  20. No, because doing what you did is only applying the effect to the clip just like you would expect. The clip would have to become longer to include the tail of the effect. One solution is to use an effect send on the track then the clip will feed that and not get cut off. If you don't want the effect anywhere else then automate the send.
  21. I have the M4. I had to purchase a PCIe USB 3.0 card to get it to run properly. It's bus powered like yours. And even after all that I need to run it at 512 to avoid any glitches. On the exact same system my other 2 interfaces can run at 128 without issue. But from what your saying you probably have not even installed the drivers yet and are running on Windows driver which explains everything.
  22. You beat me to it I was going to say insert Voxingo Span or a similar spectral analyzer in the effects bin. but the Pro Channel Eq is a great idea as it's built in. As said when ever you need to hear or see any effects while tracking you have to always turn on input echo. You will here a small delay caused by your systems latency. If that bothers you just turn down the tracks fader and use your interfaces direct monitoring system. This is of course for what your doing which is just Looking at a Plug in. If your wishing to hear any effects then the fader needs to be up.
  23. Thanks for your positive feedback I’m glad it worked. I guess in the Sonar days we had books about using Sonar and magazine articles etc. Now everything is a video. I do think Scott R Garrigus is still writing articles I see him posting on Facebook Cakewalk pages I write all my tutorials out as documents first as I research topics. I should clean those up and post them for people to read. I find I babble and waste time if I don’t read a script.
  24. There should still be no interference between the programs but the important thing mentioned above is always have back up copies of your projects. I’ve never had major issues opening real old CWP files in new versions of Cakewalk other than the typical missing plug in stuff. They all show up in the bins and tracks in brackets or something like that and so it’s easy to figure out what they were and replace. But for sure don’t try and open a file saved in new version in something as old as Sonar 7. I still have 8.5 and I can’t open anything but an original very old project or a midi file. There’s no reason to be uninstalling the software. It is recommended you install your oldest version first and then install the newer in sequence of release. I just do 8.5, X3 and then CbB. Then I run Command Center.
  25. You let yourself fall way to far behind with your recording set up so it makes it hard to get help with things that are not really an issue anymore for millions of DAW users. Best advice I can offer is to take a little time to bring your system up to speed. Cakewalk has seen a zillion improvements since Sonar 7. Sounds like all you need to do is replace a few outdated VST instruments with newer ones. We all had to go through that as time moves forward. The transition from 32 bit to 64 bit is still a work in progress. Lots of great plug ins never got upgraded. Tell us what instruments you need and we can offer replacements. There are hundreds of free plug is and instruments available And if you need help re learning Cakewalk go to the Tutorials. I have a complete series that walks you though the features step by step
