  1. Generally with daisy chaining Midi we go from Device 1 Midi OUT to Device 2 Midi IN and then Device 1 will be sent to the Midi Thru port of Device 2. To have the signal from Device 1 show in the Midi OUT of Device 2 you would need to set that up from within device 2 settings. Which model of Roland Guitar Synth is this? Does it have USB or just the 5 pin Din.? Also make sure you download and install any Roland Drivers if available. Even if it seems to work as plug and play, I find it best to use the drivers from the Support page.
  2. The wave form clearly shows a export that was clipping the Master bus. Do you have any limiters or analyzing tools on the Master? You might want to watch my tutorials on how to export and master a finished song. Maybe it will help. #22 & #24 for sure and there are a few others as well like #28&29
  3. Funny he said he didn’t do this but anyone with long time Cakewalk experience has done exactly this a dozen times. There’s really only that one way I know of to make the Control bar disappear. It’s most certainly nothing to do with an update. As far as I can tell the latest update is that much more stable than all the previous versions. It’s a shame when there is pilot error involved and peoples first reaction is to re install Cakewalk or roll back. It’s 99% of the time totally unnecessary. As far as accidentally typing when the dialogue box looses focus, When I do this I always re- type the word to re toggle the stuff back to where it was. If that doesn’t work I just reload my workspace.
  4. Dang I can’t believe I had that so wrong. Of course it works just like every mixing board I’ve ever owned. The effects send is post and the auxiliaries are pre. Sorry about that I guess I better delete that so as not to contaminate the internet any more than it already is with bad info.
  5. I don’t use midi volume. I use either the volume control of the instruments GUI or the instrument track Gain. My volume sliders stay at unity unless the track gets automated. Things are always plenty loud and most times it’s a matter of turning track gain down so they are around-10db to -6db.
  6. I see what you mean. I just re read the post and originally I thought the OP was referring to the project was not playing through the master bus. So you might be right and the bass was the first and only instrument. But the metronome should have still be using the Master bus. The 6i6 is getting old and that’s why I bought a newer interface a few years ago. But they seem to keep updating the drivers and for me the 6i6 outperforms the new Motu M4. I’ll see how this new driver does I can always roll back.
  7. This is not the issue as you use your direct monitoring and not the input echo. I have never used input echo on an audio track. The Op seems to have just had a minor glitch in the Scarlett driver.
  8. I think those are the ones that a lot of the stuff is outdated now. They are based on Sonar.
  9. Interesting thing about the driver. I just went to the support page and there's a new driver listed as being released June 2022. Cool, That's nice they are still releasing drivers for a device that is almost 10 years old now. But the Driver number is now a lower overall number. As you see mine was 4.65.5 but the new driver is 4.102.4. I downloaded and installed it anyway and nothing seemed to change, including my list still looks different than yours. You sure your using the correct ASIO driver??
  10. Your list looks different than mine? Which Driver version are you using? But otherwise Mon 1 is the correct output. Sometimes when I get no audio I reset the Mix Control to Factory Defaults.
  11. I vote for this as well. I’ve tried a few times and always hit a brick wall with something that you think should be easy but isn’t.
  12. Hmmm, a hearing impaired Audio Engineer! I thought our solution was to just turn it up to 11. ?
  13. The typing names in the box has gotten many people over time. You “think” the name box is in focus and you start typing. But your not typing a word, you are typing keyboard shortcuts and Cakewalks screen goes bonkers. You obviously typed “C” which hides / shows the control bar. Close the project and reopen to reset or change your workspace. Your other issues might be related to what ever other keyboard shortcuts you typed.
  14. It would be much easier to help you if you actually told us what and how with details. I don’t even know if this is midi or audio tracks so can’t even begin to guess. Audio interface? Are you using Cakewalk or ProTools?
  15. I learned more about Cakewalk than I had over the last 2 decades when I started making the tutorials. I needed to explore all the options and make sure I wasn’t missing anything obvious. Then as I picked topics I dug in to ( that’s right) the documentation as well as exploring every little button and menu item. Things I never would have touched I tried just to see what happens. Boy did I quickly make a quantum leap in understanding exactly how Cakewalk is glued together. Things I thought were useless features I now include in my daily workflow. So in some ways I really don’t care if anyone ever watches them, makes no difference to me, because if anything was worth while it was making the videos was a very good learning experience just for me. I do hope I’ve helped a few others along the way. I certainly get thankful comments daily from Google. And it does mean a lot to me even the small bit of support I get from the forum. Big thanks to those of you who take the time to post the links etc.
  16. Try my tutorials on setting up midi that will get you there a lot faster than guessing ?
  17. The notes might be out of the range of the instrument you are using. Example I always have to raise up by +12 ( 1 octave) to use Ample or SI Bass. Always open the instrument GUI and test it with the preview option first. I have tutorials on using midi
  18. Ya not really a solid bit of info but I did find this. https://www.allen-heath.com/media/ZEDi-USB-Windows-Driver-Help.pdf Sems kinda sketchy to me. For sure I have used both Soundcraft and Yamaha mixers that have proper ASIO drivers and those work just fine.
  19. Because that requires you to be a musician or have actual talent. DAWs are slowly being developed for the rest of the world who have a desire to create without needing to develop any skills. It will be interesting 20 years from now to see if this actually results in anything worth listening to ?
  20. This issue is starting to come up more often here. It seems users are trying to use Gaming and Podcasting input and output devices that are not designed for use with Audio DAW's like Cakewalk. These devices use plug and Play Windows drivers and do not support WASAPI drivers. The best solution is to purchase a proper audio interface and a proper XLR microphone. Second solution is only use your computers on board audio system which will support WASAPI. You use the jacks on your computer to access the audio system. Trying to use generic USB audio devices or Bluetooth will not go well, ever.
  21. All of this is covered in detail in the videos. Input echo should not be used on audio tracks while tracking. You use your interfaces direct monitoring so as to eliminate the delay caused by system latency. Using direct monitoring allows you to accurately monitor the recorded signal. You would only use input echo if you are recording to a Guitar Sim. The Scarlett Solo is a very limited interface and is missing a few important features like input PAD. There is also no Mixer control for direct monitoring. Possibly this is done in the software mixer? The Focusrite Control. Not sure if the new models include the Software mixer but my Scarlett 6i6 has a toggle for PAD in the software mixer.
  22. Well 64 is sustain and set to off so that' is OK, The 121 set to Zero is All Controllers Off so that is also OK. I guess another experiment would be to insert other vst instruments to replace the TTS-1 and see if the issue remains. I know this also might be hard for you do easily, but if you Open the TTS-1 properties or Graphic User Interface can you tell if the main output is all the way up? And if you click on a pre view button does it make sound? The other thing to be aware of is other VST instruments that have Midi output enabled looping back and causing issues if a midi track has it's input set to None and Omni. At least I think it's None. So if you make sure no other VST's in the project have Midi output enabled and change the midi tracks input to your keyboard controller this would rule that out.
  23. But my thinking on this is the problems we are now experiencing with the TTS-1 are due to it's slowly being made obsolete by updates to both Cakewalk and Windows OS. So to me it should be solid as a rock on 8.5 and W7? I have never personally had issues with it when I use it to open downloaded midi files. Only time I've had a crash is when I try and add it later on to a project. But I most certainly worked with it without issues and it is an amazing tool for working with GM midi files. The OP's issue does seem to be more related to something hidden causing a volume change. So always questions, right! First open console view and ( might need help with this) notice if any volume controls move when you hit the space bar. It would be good to know if the level change is a MIDI event or an Audio event. Also open the events list and look for any events that change volume like CC 7 or 11.
  24. Here's one more way that I use when I want more control over things. Open the event list and deselect the stuff you want to keep, like the notes, or PG changes. Then I just pin the DELETE key to the ground and wait a second until it nukes everything.
