  1. That's a good point about what you're looking for and also a good pickup on the amps. When PA forgot how to do vouchers, I ended up getting a stack of guitar sims for about $10 or less each from a couple of other Devs instead, so now I really don't have much appetite for any more.. at least for now ? Even now they've dropped the $25 voucher I'm still struggling to be inspired too. There's a couple of things I would've snapped up at today's prices previously, but I also bought alternatives now for them too! So while PA was forgetting how to reward loyalty, I've kind of forgotten how to buy anything from PA ?
  2. I seem to recall trying their free FM synth and being quite pleasantly surprised by it. Might have to consider this one.
  3. I always knew the vouchers would make a return visit ? It's all supply and demand.. and while they would've got greater exposure with Soundwide, they lost a lot of regulars. I'll wait this round out and wait to see if they return with the $20 voucher down the track. It's a good sign that there's still hope they might get back on track though.
  4. This one seems to be getting some good reviews recently, although I've learnt to sceptical and only pay a minimum amount of attention to praise in social media and other sources unless I know and trust the person's tastes and ethics. I wonder how many people compare Fabfilter ProQ3 in zero latency mode against the Kirchhoff and think Kirchhoff is better too. I generally prefer the natural phase mode in ProQ3 more. Also with Linear mode I wonder if everyone is trying different quality settings etc. I know many will be, but I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few A->B with the default settings. I do also wonder how much better than ProQ it is though, so might give it a shot too.
  5. I used the Tilt EQ the other day on a synth and it literally did the job better than any EQ I tried on that synth previously. Some of these are gems, albeit a little more abstract. As for Crusher, I believe I got this one from Lars ?
  6. I was wondering that about Motor too. That's the missing one for me. I've got a spare license for Things Texture if it helps anyone and you have something to swap that I'm interested in ?
  7. If you're thinking about Townhouse by BX, then they are quite different. That's more of a grungier / coloured SSL than an LMC. You can definitely use things like Townhouse for parallel compression though and just use very aggressive settings on it so it's really clamping down hard on the audio and blend that in too. For me I haven't bought this one (yet!), but that's because I use SoundToys Devil-Loc for heavier parallel compression. This is probably closer to LMC than Townhouse (or any of the SSL strips from BX). You can use the LMC as a regular compressor too of course, but that's not it's main niche.
  8. I'd agree with that. They do actually make a handful of very good plugins. They just don't care to listen to what customers are telling them and persist with their crap licensing and ideas.
  9. Even better! Those guys sometimes have some real outliers with pricing and you can snag a bargain from them. Often shortlived as well, but there's been a couple of pricing errors from Best. I'm waiting for them to have Phaseplant on a steep discount again too ?
  10. This isn't a standard SSL compressor like that it's based off using/abusing the listen mic off the old consoles and using that as a compressor. It's most frequently used for drums, generally smashing them in parallel and blending that in. As for NI, for my tastes, it's one of the SSL compressors that doesn't grab me at all soundwise compared to SSL themselves, or a number of the other emulations out there. Probably not bad if people already have it, but I think the others are better personally.
  11. SSL LMC+ $19.99 @ Plugin Boutique https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/8-Compressor/8677-SSL-LMC- The SSL LMC+ replicates the sound of an SSL 4000E console's reverse talkback function, a.k.a. the Listen Mic, which included an integrated compressor to safeguard against overloads and make quiet speech intelligible. It was the Listen Mic Compressor, combined with the SSL 4000E's built-in noise gate, that was the genesis to the gated-reverb drum sound that dominated the '80s. The LMC+ plug-in eclipses the original hardware, providing you with advanced functionality that wasn't present in the original console, such as external sidechain capabilities, highpass filters and lowpass filters, and Scoop and Split functions. And thanks to its intuitive controls, the LMC+ is a breeze to use. If you want to smash everything back to the 1980s, the LMC+ is the plug-in to do it with. The LMC+ plug-in takes the vaunted SSL Listen Mic Compressor from the center section of an SSL 4000E console and enhances it with modern features derived from SSL's LMC+ 500 Series module. An external sidechain enables you to trigger gain reduction with an external source or signal, while variable highpass and lowpass filters allow you to tailor which frequencies trigger the compression. You also get Scoop and Split functions. Scoop phase-inverts your wet signal, while Split engages a bandpass-subtraction mode. There is also a Mix control, which makes parallel processing a piece of cake. If you enjoy slamming audio into oblivion, you'll find a zillion uses for the LMC+. Features Replicates the sound of an SSL 4000E console's Listen Mic Compressor Fixed attack and release curves are tailor-made for ambient drums External sidechain triggers gain reduction with an external source or signal Variable highpass and lowpass filters tailor which frequencies trigger the compression Scoop button phase-inverts wet signal Split button activates bandpass-subtraction mode Mix control makes parallel processing a piece of cake System Requirements Mac macOS 10.12 Sierra - macOS 11 Big Sur (M1 Mac not yet supported) (64-bit only) Intel Dual-Core Mac running at 2.4GHz or higher 4 GB of RAM minimum (8 GB of RAM recommended) AU, VST2, VST3, AAX Native Important Note: SSL products are compatible with M1 Apple Silicon Macs via the use of Rosetta. 12. Not likely any time soon I'd say. The two 70% offs aren't normally available to stack in that way.
  13. I had a feeling it may not last long. Gotta be quick!
  14. Haha.. yeah sometimes with these ones it you don't see it in time, or you think too long, or even try a demo, you miss out! I know I've missed some killer prices that way ? It all added to the cart perfectly at the time, but I already own that EQ and the plugins I want from Hornet at the moment. It's actually quite a cool EQ for the money. I have ProQ3, but I do like being able to add variable amounts of analogue style saturation on each band independently. Even at the regular 70% off price its good value.
  15. I paid $94 back in November 2021 and got Audiority PolyComp free with it ? They did fix it shortly after though.
  16. I pulled the trigger at $94 in a previous sale ages ago at Plugin Boutique. On that occasion they corrected the price after I bought it. Really the few extra dollars off just gave me an excuse to buy it, but I'm glad I did! You can make similar sounds with all different synths, but there is something I really like about the filters and effects with Spire. It does really have it's own sound in a way.
  17. Considering that most people will have either bought, or got Analog Stage when it was free it might make the upgrade price to MKII pretty cheap too! https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-analogstage-mk2/
  18. HoRNet Total EQ (€2,52 instead of €27,99!!) Regular price is 27,99€ Sale price is 8,40€ MFTQSS70 reduces that by 70% to €2,52! https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-total-eq/ Versatile visual EQ with analog emulation
  19. Still love the sound of Spire ?
  20. That helped confirmed what I was seeing and now I have the email for them which does too. I suspected it might be free for Anthology owners, so I downloaded it and it seemed to activate for me. Even though the site shows an upgrade / crossgrade for me! The email much later says: FREE for Anthology XII owners! Seems like quite a inconsistent release really, as it was announced and showing up in some places, but not others. Nice freebie though ?
  21. Have you tried installing it and seeing if your Mk I license activates Mk II by any chance?
  22. Have updated the original post with the link to their site: https://www.eventideaudio.com/plug-ins/physion-mk-ii/
